“Ava? What are you saying?” Lily screamed.
“Ava!” Benjamin gasped. Shane Moss raised his brow. Alpha Jax looks confused just as others. Ava can see the look in their eyes. She can clearly read the expression on Lily’s face. It’s screaming ‘this will be the biggest mistake of your life, accept him.’ And for Benjamin, it’s like he is saying she should accept because ‘i am out of the equation. Even though I was never a competition’. And for Shame Moss, it’s nearly an expressonless face. Even if it’s could be read as something meaningful, it will be something like ‘well, I don’t care about both of them.’
It’s the expression on Alpha Jax that is most glaring. An expression of defeat and regret. But Ava is not concerned about what expression they have. She is more concerned about what they have in their heart. For Lily and Benjamin, she understands that their heart’s content might match their face. But for Alpha Jax she wonders.
She wonders if he is doing this because it’s a good opportunity for him to get her. She cannot even think of any logical reason for why she does not trust him. Lately, his reaction has been different, and she understands that he had a heartbreak, and he drank potion to help himself against the heartbreak, but she still doesn’t understand why she just said no.
“Ava, why? Why did you say no?” Lily came closer to her. She held Ava. Ava pushed her away lightly and politely.
“I don’t know. Maybe because I am trying to think and forget the kind of person he has been. The miserable things he has done to me. The branding of my vagina. When his tall muscular self did not think of a day like this. Or maybe when he would rape me and make me topic of gossips between the sex slaves. Or maybe when he would slap me. When he choked me and raped me. Or was it when he beat me so hard that my soul nearly got crushed. I don’t know which of those things exactly I am thinking of. I don’t know which of them, is biting me and controlling my mind into saying no. Maybe all of them. Maybe…” she began crying and she went down on her knees. Alpha Jax has his head down. Lily consoled Ava. She frowned at Lily.
“I am sorry Lily. And I beg you by the bong between us, ease forgive me for everyone of those moments. I have a confession to make,” Alpha Jax said. Ava and Lily looked up at him.
“After I had my issue with Natalie. After I feel in love with her, and her parents used her to destroy more than half of my family, I felt broken. I hated women. Except those who are family. I looked for ways to never fall in love ever again. And I came across a witch. I told her my plight. She listened to me and took pity on me.
She gave a concoction of which ingredients I know not. And said it will make me cold. It was after I began drinking the ingredients that I met you. And I treated you according to the power of the potion.
It finished at some point, I went to look for her again. I discovered another witch. She gave me another potion which seems powerful at first, but thankfully, it became less powerful and made me discover my affect.
Please Ava, all those times, it was not me. I was not being myself. I was under the influence of a drug I got from a witch. But believe me when I say this Ava, I am sorry. I love you and I promise things like that will never happen again,” Alpha Jax broke down at the end of his sentence and cried. Tears from from the eyes of an Alpha.
“Jax, at some point, we found out about your potion. The one which you think doesn’t work, is the one I changed and got from the goddess. I and Ava,” Lily said.
“Then I must thank you both for saving me. And Ava, I think you should understand me,” Alpha Jax begged.
“Not like I don’t. I just want to be sure that Lily herself did not make any witchcraft to make you good for some moments, so I can accept you and then you go back to being all evil,” Ava cried.
“Me? Ava, I would never do such,” Lily defended herself.
“Ava, this is me. I agree I have been hurtful these past years to you, myself and everyone else. But believe me, I am changed, and will follow up the change,” Alpha Jax begged. Benjamin walked up to Ava.
“Remember I told you he wasn’t always brutal to us. Well, he had his flaws, but not the way he became when you joined. I guess it was fear that was controlling him. Fear of him being hurt again. Fear of loving you. Ava, I can’t assure you anything but for your own happiness, accept him. We will always be with you,” Benjamin advised her. Ava looked down on Alpha Jax. She cried more. She closed her eyes. Inhaled sharply and slapped Alpha Jax.
“Ava?” Lily screamed.
“Yes! Yes, I accept. I accept your proposal Alpha Jax,” Ava cried more. Alpha Jax chuckled. He stood up and hugged Ava. Lily sighed and sat on her table.
“Finally,” she whispered. Benjamin and Shane held each other. They watch Alpha Jax and Ava. It feels good that both of them are together. Alpha Jax let go of Ava and went to Lily.
“Thanks sister, I could never have asked for a better sibling. Thank you, and I love you,” Alpha Jax hugged her too. Tears dropped from her eyes. Alpha Jax nodded to Benjamin and Shane.
“Now the war is over?” Lily asked Shane excitedly.
“For me, yes, but I have to talk to other Alphas. That should not be a problem, but there is one particular Alpha I am concerned about. Stallone Deal and the members of the rogue pack,” Shane said.
“My father?”
“He is a pain in the ass,” Shane Moss replied.
