Chapter 680: Kimi Hall’s Surgery

Book:The Warlord Is Back Published:2024-5-31

The atmosphere within the Wraith family was tense. Almost everyone had lost an arm, their faces shrouded in gloom. For days, there had been no improvement, and the only way to turn things around seemed to be to capture Patrick Bailey.
Their hearts filled with hatred and the desire for vengeance.
In the grand hall, Kenelm Wraith’s expression was dark. Unlike the others, he had received the news earlier. As the largest family in Yu Mountain City, he had his own sources.
He knew ahead of time.
Not only did he know, but he also knew that there was a master from the northern part of the West State within the Meyer family.
But it seemed that they had been eliminated.
“Sir.”
Kenelm Wraith looked at a man standing nearby, robust and powerful, whom he had brought from the northern part of the West State through Hadden White to deal with Patrick Bailey.
However, they had been outmaneuvered by the Meyer family.
It was fortunate that they had been outmaneuvered.
The man from Hadden White had a grim expression. “I know the guy from Tianbang. He’s as powerful as me and if he fell to that man, then I won’t stand a chance against him.”
Kenelm Wraith’s expression darkened even further upon hearing this.
“If not for the Meyer family, it would have been us, the Wraith family, facing this situation. It’s ironic that the Meyer family is now our downfall. Letting the Meyer family serve as our scapegoat.”
Kenelm Wraith muttered.
If not for the Meyer family, it would have been their demise today.
He believed that once the Wraith family was defeated, Elbert Meyer wouldn’t foolishly provoke Patrick Bailey.
“This guy is more troublesome than I imagined. I have to go back to Hadden White to gather more experts.”
The man remarked.
“Thank you, sir.”
Kenelm Wraith expressed his gratitude.
The man then left to the northern part of West State to gather more experts, believing that he would return. In Yu Mountain City, Hadden White had been established for many years and wouldn’t give up easily.
However, Kenelm Wraith couldn’t shake off a sense of unease.
He walked out of his mansion, gazing at the overcast sky and murmured, “If only we hadn’t dug that grave. What kind of person have we offended here?”
Even now, he still hadn’t figured out where Patrick Bailey had come from.
But since appearing, he had been domineering.
More importantly, his dominance had left them helpless.
As time passed, Yu Mountain City witnessed the rise of Timway Group under Robin Bailey’s influence.
But Robin Bailey paid little attention to that.
He only cared about when Kimi Hall would come out of the operating room.
This girl, with her impressive academic background, was a genius. But to Robin Bailey, she seemed a bit naive, having exchanged herself with a scoundrel for her safety.
If not for Robin Bailey’s skills back then, perhaps Kimi Hall would have been the only one who could have saved him.
Naive, but somehow endearing to Robin Bailey.
The operating room’s door opened.
Several doctors stepped out, one of them frowning. “This girl’s brain was severely injured and she shouldn’t have survived, but somehow, she managed to cling onto life. Thankfully, she’s stable now after the surgery, and all that’s left is for her to rest.”
“Remember, do not stress her at all, under any circumstances. If she’s stressed, she…”
The doctor didn’t finish, but they all understood.
A single stressful event could cost her life.
Once the doctors left, Robin Bailey’s assistant, Isabella Turner, exhaled in relief. She had feared that something might go wrong during the surgery, but now that it was successful, Kimi Hall was safe.
“Isabella.”
Robin Bailey suddenly called.
“Here.”
Isabella Turner responded.
“Afterwards, you will say that I’m your driver, a dedicated driver. We came here to report an incident and find her.”
“Ah… alright.”
Isabella Turner nodded.
She didn’t question why.
After being frightened by Robin Bailey earlier, she dared not to anymore.
Robin Bailey’s instructions were mainly due to the doctor’s advice not to stress Kimi Hall. Hence, he needed to hide his identity so that Kimi Hall wouldn’t feel deceived if she found out, avoiding any mental distress.
Then, Robin Bailey pushed open the door and walked into the room. Inside, Kimi Hall’s face was wrapped in bandages, her only exposed hand receiving an IV drip, her complexion pale.
She hadn’t awakened yet.
“Boss, I’ll take care of her.”
Isabella Turner softly suggested from behind.
“No need. She doesn’t know you and wouldn’t feel secure. In Yu Mountain City, she only knows me. If she wakes up and I’m not here, she might feel abandoned by the world.”
Robin Bailey explained slowly.
Then, he sat by the bedside, placing Kimi Hall’s hand under the covers.
“Alright.”
Isabella Turner didn’t insist further.
She left as there was no use staying there, with the group calling her for work and awaiting her to handle various matters over the phone. Meanwhile, Robin Bailey took out his phone and sent a message.
“My love, for some reasons, I may need to take care of a girl for a while. Sorry.”
Robin Bailey was not a fickle person.
Or rather, he wasn’t sensitive to emotions. He had spent most of his life in battles and had encountered few women. Moreover, he had never been in a romantic relationship.
His feelings were quite blunt.
But at this moment, he knew that Kimi Hall needed him.
It took a while before a reply came.
“Approved.”
Seeing Elise Houry’s reply, Robin Bailey couldn’t help but smile.
That silly wife of his had approved, which also brought a warm feeling to Robin Bailey. Maybe in his previous life, he had saved the galaxy, earning him such a wonderful wife.
