Isabella Turner spoke, dragging Bonnie Winfield outside. Bonnie Winfield wanted to struggle, but she had just drunk alcohol and the spirits were strong, especially since she wanted to seduce Robin Bailey. But at this moment, she felt weak and couldn’t struggle.
“Hey… that…” Wheeler Winfield stood up and wanted to intervene. However, Robin Bailey spoke, “Let them go. Let the women handle their affairs. Besides, this is your territory. Aren’t you worried?” Wheeler Winfield agreed, “You’re right. This is my home. I don’t need to worry.” He then added, “Men’s affairs should be handled by men. I invited Mr. Bailey here for a tea, may I ask for your name, sir?”
“Patrick Bailey,” replied Robin Bailey. Wheeler Winfield flashed numerous memories in his mind but didn’t recognize the name Patrick Bailey. Nevertheless, he maintained his composure and said, “Patrick Bailey, what a good name. Mr. Bailey, you are truly talented.”
“Mr. Bailey, would you care for some Gujing tea? It’s brewed from a thousand-year-old ice well and harvested from the Da Hong Pao tea leaves of Wuyi Mountain. The flavor is exceptional.” Wheeler Winfield nudged the tea cup.
“A coarse man,” Robin Bailey said after taking a sip of the tea. “Nevertheless, the tea’s taste is indeed good. Surprisingly, it’s not poisoned. This may be incongruent with your status as Young Master Winfield.” Wheeler Winfield smiled and said, “I invited Mr. Bailey here today because my sister is infatuated with you and insisted on meeting you. So, Mr. Bailey, do you have feelings for my sister?”
Wheeler Winfield chuckled, “If I say otherwise, would it mean a death sentence for me today?” Robin Bailey replied, “No, I wouldn’t do something so extreme. You can rest assured, I won’t let anyone harm Isabella Turner. How you came in will determine how you leave, and I guarantee that. But since we’ve reached this point, let me explain why I invited Mr. Bailey here. Collaboration.”
Wheeler Winfield then continued, “I know that you’ve declared war on the five major families, but you don’t understand the power behind them. For instance, the Wraith family’s force is backed by Hadden White, a fierce force. The other three families are also strong. If you collaborate with us, we could eliminate the Wraith family, crush Hadden White in Yu Mountain City, and divide the city between our powers.” His proposition was enticing.
Joining forces to eliminate the Wraith family and divide Yu Mountain City.
This would be a welcome assist but Robin Bailey took his time drinking his tea before saying, “But, I believe the organization behind the Winfield family, the Black Dragon Society, is not a good entity. What is your opinion?”
The Winfield family was backed by the Black Dragon Society. According to Osbert’s intel, the organization perpetrated numerous atrocities and despite being powerful, it had a strong presence in the northern region of West State. Wheeler Winfield’s face stiffened and murderous thoughts surfaced in his mind.
He had invited Robin Bailey for this collaboration, all with the plan to have them eliminate the Wraith family, while he and his sister would support from the shadows. Once the Wraith family was crippled, the Black Dragon Society would take over Yu Mountain City.
Suddenly, their plan shifts when Robin Bailey surprisingly rejects the proposal and even criticizes the Winfield family. Wheeler Winfield maintains his composure and responds, “Mr. Bailey, what do you mean? The Black Dragon Society is reputed in West State and should not be dismissed.”
Robin Bailey retorts, “Reputed for infamy, I assume the victims have met their end at the hands of the Black Dragon Society.”
This assertion left Wheeler Winfield seething with rage inwardly, but he forced a smile and said, “Mr. Bailey, what do you mean by this? The Black Dragon Society has a good reputation.”
“Reputation? I would say infamy. Besides, your Winfield family participated in an auction some time ago,” Robin Bailey pointed out.
“That was just of a deceased person, not comparable to…”
Wheeler Winfield attempted to interrupt, but was cut off as Robin Bailey exuded a dominating aura and pinned Wheeler Winfield to the ground: “That’s my mother!”
“Master!” Several individuals in the room prepared to confront Robin Bailey but Wheeler Winfield intervened, “Stop! I told you to let Mr. Bailey leave unscathed. Back away!”
The others looked at Wheeler Winfield and retreated. Wheeler Winfield then knelt on the ground and apologized, “Mr. Bailey, I was impulsive. I’m sorry.”
With this, the domineering aura around Wheeler Winfield dissipated, and Robin Bailey’s killing intent subsided before he said, “You’re not bad, you know how to look after yourself, unlike others. Mr. Bailey, I respect that.”
Wheeler Winfield replied, “Mr. Bailey, I opposed the idea of collaborating with you. I won’t let a single one of the five major families go. Do you have any other business? If not, I bid you farewell.”
Robin Bailey left the room, taking Isabella Turner with him. Perhaps the next time they meet, it will be in the midst of a full-blown battle.
“Master, why didn’t you kill him?” asked someone in the room.
They couldn’t understand why Wheeler Winfield didn’t retaliate despite the provocation.
“He’s no ordinary man. Perhaps you wouldn’t be his match,” Wheeler Winfield responded. “Furthermore, we’re not in a rush to kill him. It’s the Wraith family who wants him dead. There’s no need to clash with him now. Let them both deplete each other’s forces. After that, we’ll make our move.”
That was his plan. What Wheeler Winfield didn’t know was that the blow he received from Robin Bailey was less than a fraction of the latter’s full strength. Otherwise, it would have been his end.
