“Help… help… please save me…”
The chubby boss screamed in terror as he saw the knife poised right next to him.
Only then did the burly men he had brought along react. They charged towards the boss who had been caught, but they were no match for Jeff Reczek. Despite having both hands pressed down on the chubby boss’s head, he easily dealt with the goons who came rushing at him.
Even their feet were swiftly neutralized.
In just a few moves, they all lay writhing on the ground in pain.
How could this be!
The sight left the chubby boss dumbfounded. How could this happen? These were his elite bodyguards, each of them hired at great expense. How could they be defeated so easily?
How would he handle this now?
“Mercy, please, I don’t want the money… I don’t want it… I don’t want it…”
The chubby boss begged for mercy instantly.
It was then that Robin Bailey stood up from her seat, walked over to the chubby boss, towering over him as she drew out a dagger and traced it against his neck.
“You don’t want it? That won’t do. You came for debt collection, how can you just let it go?”
Robin Bailey’s words, coupled with the action, nearly made him wet himself in fear.
“Bro, I was wrong… the Turner family sent me… it was all the doing of the Turner family… I’m just a fart… please let me go…”
The chubby boss directly pleaded for forgiveness.
“And what about the debt?”
Robin Bailey inquired.
“I… I don’t want it…”
The chubby boss shivered incessantly at the sharp tip of the knife.
“But what if you come back? What then?”
Robin Bailey questioned.
“I won’t come back… I really won’t… I’ll tear up the contract… I swear… big brother… I swear…”
The chubby man was on the verge of wetting his pants.
Robin Bailey chuckled.
“Go bring the contract, or else… hehe…”
Robin Bailey retracted the knife and signaled for Jeff Reczek to release him.
After being set free, the chubby boss fell to the ground, breathing heavily, feeling like he had narrowly escaped death. However, he didn’t hesitate and immediately made his escape.
He didn’t want to stay a second longer.
“Boss, do you think he’ll bring back the contract? Should I follow him and snatch it later?” Jeff Reczek eyed the retreating figure of the chubby boss.
“He will, but the Turner family behind him won’t,” Robin Bailey remarked, folding her hands before adding, “Just wait, the Turner family members will show up soon.”
As expected.
Half an hour later.
Numerous Jaguars parked outside the company building, and one by one, individuals descended from them. Isabella Turner peered out of a window and saw a car, her expression changing. “That’s Cheryl Turner’s car. She’s the eldest sister in the Turner family, and Spike Turner’s sister. She’s very protective, ruthless, and fierce. Wasn’t she supposed to be abroad? Why is she back? Is it because of Spike Turner?”
Isabella Turner spoke with a tinge of fear.
Clearly, she was afraid of this woman.
Soon, the area below was surrounded, and a woman in a suit with an air of authority was ushered into the office. She wore earrings and exuded a sense of dominance. Beside her was a young man.
“You brat!”
Upon seeing Isabella Turner, the woman strode over, followed by the young man, and in a fit of rage, delivered a slap across Isabella Turner’s face.
Isabella Turner was left dumbfounded.
Instinctively, she didn’t dare fight back.
But with a swift motion, Robin Bailey caught the woman’s hand.
Once caught, Cheryl Turner violently struggled free, fearing she would be touched by a filthy man. After breaking away, she shot him a venomous glance and cursed, “Who are you to meddle in my affairs? Let me tell you, I am the Turner family’s eldest daughter. A word from me can make you disappear without a trace.”
“Is that so?” Robin Bailey chuckled lightly.
No one dared to speak of making someone disappear without a trace, not even the Templar Grandmaster.
“Boss.”
At that moment, Isabella Turner realized and addressed Robin Bailey as her boss.
Now Cheryl Turner understood, immediately retorting, “You’re her boss? Let me tell you, she belongs to our Turner family. She eats the Turner family’s food, wears the Turner family’s clothes, and grew up in the Turner family. We, the Turner family, will discipline her. It’s none of your business.”
Those words… were indeed reasonable.
Isabella Turner did grow up in the Turner family.
It seemed inappropriate for an outsider like Robin Bailey to intervene.
However, Isabella Turner spoke up, “While I do eat the Turner family’s food and live under their roof, how much of the profits my parents created for the Turner family have I spent? Besides, while I may have grown up in the Turner family, it’s more accurate to say I was bullied by each and every one of you while growing up.”
Bullied into growing up.
She couldn’t remember how many slaps she had endured in her childhood.
It wasn’t growing up; it was being treated as a plaything, being toyed with until she grew up.
“I don’t owe the Turner family anything.”
Isabella Turner glared at Cheryl Turner, gritting her teeth.
It took great courage for her to say those words.
“You little brat, how dare you talk back.”
With that retort, Cheryl Turner seethed, “I beat you since you were little, and you never dared to fight back or even talk back. Just a few days after I went abroad, you’re already getting out of line, colluding with outsiders to kill my brother. You have some nerve.”
How dare she defy her!
Utterly audacious!
Just as she was about to slap Isabella Turner again, the young man beside Cheryl Turner interjected, “Boss, they have a formidable opponent; our manpower is insufficient.”
He gestured towards Jeff Reczek.
He sensed a powerful aura emanating from Jeff Reczek.
As for Robin Bailey, there was no such aura. He seemed like an ordinary person, unaware that once he reached the level of a Grandmaster, he would be at his natural state, a level of depth indiscernible to others.
Only by engaging in combat would his true strength be revealed.
Cheryl Turner also took notice of Jeff Reczek, knowing that her subordinates wouldn’t lie to her, especially since she had spent a hefty sum to enlist the services of the 47th-ranked expert on the black market.
That guy was no pushover.
Promptly, Cheryl retracted her hand about to strike and coldly remarked, “Today, I just returned to the country, so I’ll let you off. But be cautious from now on; the Turner family will make your lives a living hell. Isabella Turner, you will regret colluding with outsiders to kill my brother.”
With that, she departed with her entourage.
Yes.
She had just returned to the country and was not aware of the specifics, only that her brother, Spike Turner, had been killed by outsiders working together.
She had immediately come to confront Isabella Turner, intending to land a few slaps and vent her anger.
Unaware that the killer of her brother, Spike Turner, was among them.
