Chapter 603 Wedding (Part 4)

Book:The Warlord Is Back Published:2024-5-31

You guys are truly insane, I am Isaiah Clarke.
Smack.
Isaiah Clarke’s palm landed on the face of the waiter, “You blind fool, do you know who I am? Stop slacking off, we have a big shot coming over here today.”
With a slap, he knocked the waiter to the ground and commanded, “Let’s go in.”
And with that, he led his entourage inside.
He thought the waiter was deliberately giving him a hard time, fueling his anger.
Or perhaps the owner of this Haodi Hotel had surrendered to Landview Inc. President Elise Houry.
But even if he did, so what? Today was his turf, and he barged right in. As long as Young Master Wilson arrived, the owner of the Haodi Hotel would wet his pants.
He would regret his actions.
“Go to the fourth floor.”
Isaiah Clarke raised his hand, and his group headed towards the fourth floor.
Meanwhile, Robin Bailey and Elise Houry were on the fourth floor. Robin Bailey had rented out the entire Haodi Hotel for today’s event, utilizing the first, second, third, fourth, and fifth floors, with the fourth floor being more spacious and chosen in the end.
Boom, boom, boom.
Isaiah Clarke’s entourage reached the fourth floor.
Next to Robin Bailey was a chubby man, the owner of the Haodi Hotel, originally a local big shot capable of running such a large hotel. But at this moment, he stood next to Robin Bailey, wearing a forced smile.
Had to smile.
Jeff Reczek had come to him, revealing Robin Bailey’s identity.
It almost scared the wits out of him.
Who is this big shot?
Upon seeing Isaiah Clarke and his crew, the chubby man’s eyes gleamed with hostility. He quickly said, “I’ve told them you’ve booked the Haodi Hotel for today, and they still dare to intrude. I’ll go chase them away.”
He wanted to kick them out.
However, Robin Bailey waved his hand, gesturing, “Forget it, after all, it’s a joyous occasion for them.”
No eviction.
“Understood.”
The chubby man lowered his head.
After Isaiah Clarke arrived, he saw the chubby man and scolded, “Fatty, you dare to block me outside, quite bold of you. Do you know who the real big shots attending your wedding today are?”
“Heh.”
The chubby man sneered.
Big shots?
Is there a bigger big shot in the entire Kisia than the one by his side?
Naive.
You have no idea who you’re provoking.
If Robin Bailey hadn’t stopped him from kicking them out, who knows how he would’ve reacted now. But he was content with this, even looking forward to it. If Isaiah Clarke dared to approach, that would take some guts.
After all, everyone on the same floor could witness it.
Comparing the two.
Wouldn’t Isaiah Clarke be pulverized in an instant?
Now that’s real guts.
The fourth floor was vast, able to accommodate five or six separate venues for wedding ceremonies, boasting the largest hotel in Stillwater, with high costs involved as well.
However, neither side was short on money.
Isaiah Clarke and his group occupied the left side, looking towards Robin Bailey’s side. He sneered at his companions, “That Fatty doesn’t know his place, I’ve scared him into submission and silence. Let’s hold the wedding here, and when Young Master Wilson arrives, we’ll thoroughly scare Robin Bailey and Elise Houry, turning them to dust. We’ll make Fatty come over and apologize on his knees.”
“He really has no vision. At this crucial moment, he chose Landview Inc. The road ahead is bleak.”
“But Elise Houry does have some tricks up her sleeve. At this juncture, she managed to ally with the owner of the Haodi Hotel. That woman is indeed remarkable.”
“No matter her tricks, so what? They’ll never imagine we’ve invited a truly influential figure.”
Isaiah Clarke’s companions echoed.
They all smirked with a sense of satisfaction.
Fatty would definitely regret it later.
Subsequently, both sides began their arrangements.
As more people arrived, they were mostly guests from both sides, but the majority were from Isaiah Clarke’s side, making Elise Houry’s people anxious.
Why weren’t they here yet?
Priya Bates was not wearing a bridesmaid dress, instead, she dressed in a simple suit. She was in charge of today’s arrangements, having followed Elise Houry since their university days, seven to eight years now, and was now the Landview Inc. Secretary-General.
Second only to Elise Houry.
And the person Elise Houry trusted the most.
“Where are they?”
Priya Bates glanced at the time, frowned, by the agreed-upon time, their people should have arrived. Watching the arrival of the Clarke family’s guests, who came in such large numbers, their momentum overshadowed them.
Perhaps Robin Bailey didn’t mind, but she did.
She felt a bit uneasy. How come they weren’t punctual today?
And then, the people arrived, led by Algernon Gutierrez in a suit. Although Algernon Gutierrez lacked formal education, he was highly capable, which is why Elise Houry valued him and entrusted him with significant tasks. Following behind him was a large group of people.
Representing their faction.
A split from Elise Houry’s direction.
“Why are you only just arriving?”
Priya Bates came up and frowned, looking at the time. “You’re over ten minutes late from the agreed-upon time.”
She had a tone of reproach.
After all, she held a high position and was considered a leader to Algernon Gutierrez and his group.
However, they chuckled, and Algernon Gutierrez stepped forward, a mischievous glint in his eyes, loudly stating, “Late? We’re not late, we arrived right on time, Mr. Clarke.”
The mention of Mr. Clarke made Priya Bates’s face change.
And then, behind her, a burst of laughter erupted as someone said, “Indeed, we’re not late. Algernon Gutierrez, come in quickly, thank you for attending my wedding. Priya Bates, you’re fine, why stop my people? Are you looking for a fight on such a day?”
Isaiah Clarke approached, tapped Algernon Gutierrez on the shoulder, then left.
“Algernon Gutierrez.”
Priya Bates shouted, “Algernon Gutierrez, what do you mean? Hasn’t CEO Houry treated you well? She’s the one who nurtured you. Don’t forget this kindness. And you guys, CEO Houry has never mistreated you. You are all President’s main men. Betrayal, don’t you feel guilty inside?”
She hadn’t expected this.
Truly hadn’t.
That these people would betray them.
The gazes of those behind Algernon Gutierrez were evasive. Indeed, as they claimed, they felt guilty but couldn’t meet Priya Bates’s eyes. Nevertheless, Algernon Gutierrez was different, being the leader and bolder.
Approaching her, he looked at Priya Bates and said, “Priya Bates, man’s nature is driven by gain, bird’s by food. We’re just employees of Landview Inc., not its slaves. You showed us favor, and we worked in return. From this perspective, there is no debt between us. So, when this ship is about to capsize, we have to climb aboard a bigger, steadier ship. Isn’t this human nature?”
