Chapter 600: Wedding (Part 1)

As the day began to dawn, the whole of Stillwater bustled with activity. After all, today was a big day. And there was Elise Houry, Miranda Levis arrived, dressed casually but carrying a bag. Inside was a bridesmaid’s dress. Yes, she was the bridesmaid this time. After all, they had been good friends since childhood, and she couldn’t be absent on such an occasion.
“Elise, this new villa you bought is quite impressive,” Miranda Levis remarked as she noticed the grandeur of Eleanor Manor.
She knew about the conflict between Elise Houry and her family, their subsequent separation. When she asked for details, Elise Houry mentioned living in Eleanor Manor, leading Miranda to assume that Elise Houry had bought a villa. After all, with Elise Houry’s current financial status, buying a villa wasn’t difficult. However, she didn’t expect it to be such a huge mansion.
“Miranda, come in quickly,” Elise Houry spotted Miranda Levis and waved her over. Miranda entered with her belongings, including a little girl. The girl immediately threw herself into Miranda’s arms, her cute face beaming as she said, “Miranda, I haven’t seen you in so long. Do you miss Leslie?”
“Yes, I do,” Miranda Levis replied, her eyes filled with tender affection. She radiated a maternal glow from head to toe and hugged Leslie tightly, giving her two kisses.
“Leslie, Miranda is busy today, so she didn’t bring any toys for you. But once everything is over, Miranda will take you to play, alright?” Miranda Levis spoke with a motherly expression. She wasn’t young anymore, really not young. She and Elise Houry were the same age, and now Elise’s best friend’s daughter had grown so much. It awakened the maternal instinct within her.
“Okay,” Leslie flashed a playful smile, showing her little tiger teeth. She nodded and said, “By the way, Miranda, where is Fiona?”
“Oh, right, I’ll bring both of them together,” Miranda Levis replied. She ruffled Leslie’s hair. She also knew Fiona and liked the little girl. After soothing Leslie, Miranda Levis looked up at the others. Her gaze fell on one of the men, Robin Bailey, and her eyes slightly chilled. It wasn’t that she disliked Robin Bailey, after all, he had helped her.
But she had always felt that Robin Bailey wasn’t worthy of Elise Houry. One was like a celestial fairy, the President of Landview Inc., while the other was a mere security guard, like an insignificant ant.
They shouldn’t have any connection, but fate had brought them together. She couldn’t say anything about them being together. After they got together, her foolish best friend fell deeply in love with Robin Bailey, and no matter how much they advised or talked, it was all in vain. This made her blame Robin Bailey.
She had always believed that Robin Bailey had used some means to deceive her best friend. She looked down on Robin Bailey. She thought her best friend deserved someone better, someone who matched her, like dragons with dragons and phoenixes with phoenixes, not someone like a security guard.
“I won’t say certain things because I know you don’t like to hear them,” Miranda Levis approached Elise Houry and tidied her clothes, speaking gently.
Naturally, she wanted to talk about the wedding that day. She had already mentioned to Elise Houry that their wedding would be completely overshadowed if held at the same time and place as Isaiah Clarke’s wedding.
It would be a huge embarrassment for her. However, Elise Houry refused to listen and insisted on attending. Miranda directed her anger towards Robin Bailey for this matter as well.
However, she didn’t say anything now because since the decision had already been made, even if she embarrassed herself and became the subject of ridicule, she could only accompany her best friend and continue on. Of course, this matter made her look down on Robin Bailey even more.
What a joke.
They call it compensation!
He owes Elise Houry.
And they consider this as compensation? What a joke. When compared, the entire town of Stillwater will mock Elise Houry.
She felt anger in her heart but kept it to herself.
“Thank you.”
Elise Houry smiled. She knew that her best friend was doing it for her own good.
She just didn’t know the truth yet.
She would find out soon enough.
“Let’s go. Your parents aren’t here, so I’ll help you get dressed and ready, so you can happily get married. No, wait, you don’t need any help, you’re already beautiful, almost as beautiful as me, hehe.”
Miranda Levis made a joke and then pulled Elise Houry into the room.
Then she added, “Change your clothes, Robin Bailey. You’re not allowed to come in.”
“Okay.”
Robin Bailey agreed.
After all, not only Elise Houry needed to change, Miranda Levis needed to as well.
She had to do Elise Houry’s makeup, dress her up, and more.
Soon after, Timothy Buosont, Jeff Reczek, and Dillon James arrived. They were all dressed in suits, looking sharp. Timothy Buosont and Dillon James had good physiques, and wearing suits made them look handsome. Timothy Buosont seemed a bit cold and reserved, while Dillon James wore glasses and had an intellectual appearance, sunny and knowledgeable.
However, Jeff Reczek looked somewhat comical in a suit. He was too big, with muscles that almost caused problems with customizing the suit. It took a hefty price to get it done in the end, but to Jeff Reczek, it still felt a bit restrictive.
Robin Bailey even worried that Jeff Reczek might burst out of his clothes in a fit of anger. However, if you didn’t look closely, it looked quite good and gave a sense of security. These three were his groomsmen for today.
“Boss, it’s been a long time since I wore a suit. It feels so unfamiliar,” Jeff Reczek moved his body and walked over.
“Even if it feels unfamiliar, you have to get used to it. Today is my big day,” Robin Bailey replied, smiling.
“Alright,” Jeff Reczek touched his head and then said, “According to your instructions, the wedding favors have been sent to the Eastern Region. Many of our brothers wanted to come, but I stopped them. It was too many; Stillwater couldn’t accommodate them. Next time, you can bring me back there, Boss, and we’ll celebrate properly.”
There were too many soldiers in the Eastern Region.
400, 000 elite troops and 700, 000 regular soldiers.
If they really came, Stillwater wouldn’t be able to handle it.
That’s why Robin Bailey didn’t let them come, it would be a future compensation.
“Robin, Emma is outside,” Dillon James mentioned.
Emma was also one of the bridesmaids.
“Is Emma here? Let her in quickly. If she’s not busy, she can go to the bridesmaids’ room. Miranda Levis and Elise are inside, getting ready,” Robin Bailey gestured.
“Okay.”
And then, Emma came in and went to the bridesmaids’ room.
Meanwhile, Robin Bailey hadn’t changed yet, but was waiting. Soon, a helicopter landed in the courtyard of Eleanor Manor. Jeff Reczek brought something out from it and then went back inside.
“General, this is your military uniform,” Jeff Reczek presented it, becoming serious, even his way of speaking changed.
