Chapter 593: Here We Go Again

Book:The Warlord Is Back Published:2024-5-31

Eliott Garner became happier the more he thought about it, to the point where he almost burst into laughter. However, being an experienced person, he immediately suppressed his smile, furrowed his brows, and carefully examined the situation. Then, with a sorrowful expression, he turned to look at the young girl and said, “Myocardial infarction, organ necrosis. Ah, my condolences.”
The young girl was someone he had been close to recently. According to past customs, when a close relative died, the people around them would be devastated and burst into tears. Eliott would be able to console this young girl at that time. As expected, upon hearing his words, the young girl started to prepare herself for crying.
But at that moment, a voice came from behind, saying, “If you don’t know how to diagnose, then don’t diagnose. Talking about myocardial infarction and organ necrosis, you’re just misleading people.”
Robin Bailey walked in. The people around looked at Robin Bailey in surprise, and someone immediately asked, “Who are you? Are you a doctor? Which hospital are you from?”
There were also some doctors among the people, but they didn’t dare to intervene. Mainly because they could tell that the old man was on the verge of death, and it would be pointless to take action.
However, now someone had suddenly appeared and questioned Eliott Garner’s judgment, which meant they were questioning their own judgment as well. Robin Bailey didn’t speak but walked over and squatted in front of the old man, placing one hand on his chest and touching certain positions with the other.
“Hey, young man, what are you doing? Are you casting a spell? If you’re not a doctor, then step aside and let Dr. Garner handle it. Don’t insult the deceased. Tell me, are you Dr. Garner?”
A middle-aged woman looked at Robin Bailey, feeling somewhat displeased. How dare he ignore them? Who did he think he was?
However, when she turned to ask Eliott Garner, she suddenly froze. She noticed that Eliott Garner’s face didn’t look right. He stared straight at Robin Bailey, his face pale, trembling, and blurted out, “Here we go again.”
Oh my god. He actually saw this person again. The last time was on the train, and he was struck by him. The second time, he learned about this person’s identity from Rolf Haynes, Mr. X. This guy was Mr. X! Could he afford to provoke him? Not to mention the mysterious background she had heard about Mr. X.
“Dr. Garner, what happened? Did this kid’s reckless behavior anger you and make your face turn pale? Don’t worry, we’ll stop him. He’s just scribbling there, ignorant fools might think he’s drawing symbols.”
The middle-aged woman was about to unite the crowd and pull Robin Bailey away. However, at that moment, the old man who had been lying on the ground suddenly spat out a mouthful of blood and slowly opened his eyes, shocking the onlookers.
“He’s faking death… He’s faking death!”
The middle-aged woman was so scared that she sat on the ground.
“Weren’t we just saying he was dead? Why did he open his eyes again?”
“Could he really be faking death?”
“I’m a bit scared.”
Everyone around was stunned. But then the old man slowly sat up, looking somewhat confused. Soon, he learned what had happened from his granddaughter and immediately expressed his gratitude, saying, “Thank you for your help.”
He’s alive! Hearing these words, the people around finally understood what had happened. He had actually been revived.
“Dr. Garner, you were wrong,” the middle-aged woman turned her head and looked at Eliott Garner again.
But at that moment, Eliott Garner, who had been there before, was nowhere to be found. He had run away. He should run if he didn’t want to die. He had actually run into this guy again, this vicious and evil guy.
“This… is a fraud!”
That middle-aged woman finally realized that the guy was actually a fraud, and she felt regretful. In reality, Eliott Garner wasn’t exactly a fraud. He just exaggerated the symptoms the old man had described, claiming it was a myocardial infarction and organ failure, in order to appear more professional. This didn’t sit well with Robin Bailey. Even if a doctor couldn’t provide effective treatment, they shouldn’t spout nonsense. Robin Bailey also sensed that Eliott Garner had ulterior motives regarding the young girl.
“After you go back, take care of yourself,” Robin Bailey said before preparing to leave.
“I’m Erasmus Langstaff, and this is my granddaughter, Coco Langstaff. What’s your name? We must repay you for your great kindness,” Erasmus Langstaff said repeatedly.
“I’m Robin Bailey, there’s no need for such gratitude. It was just a small favor,” Robin Bailey replied before leaving.
The crowd dispersed, and Erasmus Langstaff thought for a moment. He realized that there was no mention of Robin Bailey in the martial arts world, but he sighed, “Coco, it seems we’ll have to stay in Stillwater for a while.”
“Why, Grandpa? Weren’t you planning to find a divine healer in South Province?” Coco Langstaff asked, surprised.
“A divine healer? There isn’t really any divine healer in South Province. I only have a good friend there. I wanted to entrust you to her because I thought I wouldn’t survive for long. But now, my injuries have flared up on this journey,” Erasmus Langstaff said with a bitter smile.
“Grandpa, you lied to me!” Coco Langstaff pouted, turned her back, then turned back around, her anger subsiding as she expressed her concern. “Let’s find another divine healer elsewhere. I don’t want you to leave.”
“Another divine healer? No need,” Erasmus Langstaff shook his head.
“Grandpa, you can’t give up on yourself,” Coco Langstaff said, her voice filled with anger.
However, Erasmus Langstaff squinted his eyes, stroked his beard, and chuckled, “It’s not about giving up on myself; it’s just that the divine healer was right here, right now.”
“Right here? You mean that big brother?” Coco Langstaff asked, bewildered.
“Yes. I didn’t expect to encounter a divine healer in this small town. I thought I was at death’s door, but when I woke up, I realized my injuries had already healed. I just need some time to recuperate. It’s truly a miracle. Perhaps, heaven felt that I couldn’t leave yet, and you were afraid. We’ll be safe for now,” Erasmus Langstaff said, patting Coco Langstaff’s head with affection.
“That big brother is a good person,” Coco Langstaff looked in the direction Robin Bailey had left. “He treated us without asking for anything in return.”
“Anything in return? That’s not enough. Many doctors had given up on me, saying there was no hope. So I had given up too. But he cured me. It’s a great favor, and mere repayment is not sufficient. That’s why we need to stay in Stillwater for a while. First, to regain my strength because once I do, I’ll be a formidable expert,” Erasmus Langstaff said, his tone filled with pride. He was also a master, a renowned figure on the Kisia martial arts rankings, and a grandmaster on Mount Kunlun, known as Taoist Erasmus.
“Second, there’s quite a bit of trouble for the benefactor. There are skilled individuals nearby who are following the benefactor, although for now, they don’t seem to have the desire to make a move. Give me two days to recover, and I’ll deal with those people on behalf of the benefactor. I’ll handle any trouble that comes our way. Once I reveal my identity, those people will be terrified and won’t dare to come again,” Erasmus Langstaff waved his hand confidently.
He believed that Robin Bailey was still unaware of those people, so if given some time, he could help Robin Bailey resolve the situation. He was very confident.
