Chapter 558: Meeting Mr. Osborne

In a single-person dormitory, Cecil Osborne was pouring hot water backward. “Ah, the weather is getting cold. These young rascals will probably start complaining about the cold again. But that’s how it is in the military, enduring hardships, going through hardships, and finally finding joy in them.”
“In the past, I went through the same thing.”
“Wayne, I remember back then, you were shivering from the cold. Now, you’ve gotten used to it, haven’t you? It’s just that getting older might bring about some rheumatism. I’m starting to experience it myself.”
Cecil Osborne was chatting with his bodyguard.
He was different from the others.
He was the commander of this military district, the highest-ranking officer, a senior official!
However, at this moment, Cecil Osborne noticed that his bodyguard, Wayne, didn’t reply to him. He furrowed his brows, realizing that something was amiss. He turned around and said, “Gentlemen, who are you?”
Wayne had already collapsed on the ground.
And at the entrance, two men appeared. One was broad and muscular, bald, while the other was slender but sharp, like a sword, incredibly stylish and sharp.
Cecil Osborne didn’t shout out loudly because he knew that these two individuals could break through the layers of the military district and defeat his skilled bodyguards to reach him without alerting anyone else.
It proved their strength.
If they wanted to kill him, they could do it before he even called for help.
“Gentlemen, would you like some tea?”
Cecil Osborne asked, raising his head. He was already in his fifties and would retire in a few years. He was getting old, and his hair was gradually turning white.
He was calm.
Because he knew that panicking would be useless.
If these two wanted to kill him, they would have done it long ago.
“Mr. Osborne, it’s been a long time. Have you really forgotten me?”
Robin Bailey smiled and walked in. “In that battle back then, you led our vanguard and dominated the battlefield. You were invincible. And now, now that you’re old, you’re giving up the struggle?”
“The vanguard… who are you?”
Cecil Osborne’s face froze.
This was someone he knew.
“Robin Bailey.”
Robin Bailey slowly uttered two words.
“Robin Bailey!”
This time, Cecil Osborne, who had remained composed, suddenly changed his expression. He turned to look at Robin Bailey and finally saluted. “Cecil Osborne, Commander of the Border Sea Military District, greetings to the War God!”
“Robin Bailey, greetings, former superior!”
Robin Bailey also saluted.
Then, both of them lowered their hands and smiled.
“You, lad, have achieved great things. Back when you were in my vanguard, I valued you the most. You were the most courageous, charging into the thieves’ den alone, sustaining numerous injuries, yet still coming out alive. Sure enough, now you’re the War God. You have no idea, these past few years, I’ve been bragging about you. My comrades envied me, saying that I had led the War God.”
During the salute, Cecil Osborne was solemn and serious, showing his respect for the highest authority of the Kisia Military District. However, after the salute, Cecil Osborne’s expression relaxed, and he was happy. This was because Robin Bailey didn’t mention his own identity but referred to their previous superior-subordinate relationship. At that moment, Robin Bailey was just Robin Bailey, not the War God of Kisia. And Cecil Osborne was his former superior.
“Mr. Osborne, it has been years since we last met, and you still have such charisma,” Robin Bailey said.
“Haha, what charisma do I have left? In that war year, I was severely injured and had to retire. Now, I can only lead troops here and grow old. I also wanted to return to the battlefield, but I can’t anymore. It’s useless to go back. Now it’s the world of you younger ones. But boy, you’ve really made a name for yourself. I heard that after I left, you led your troops and crushed those countries. You’ve truly accomplished something.”
“By the way, during the recent Southern Yue incident, I wanted to go, but your orders required elite soldiers. I was immediately excluded. Otherwise, I would have gone to the battlefield and fought against Southern Yue.”
Cecil Osborne smiled and praised Robin Bailey, treating him like his own son. He held Robin Bailey in high regard. It was the first time he had seen someone who was both daring and rational. That’s why he had said before that either Robin Bailey would die on the battlefield or rise to great heights. Now, it could be confirmed that his words were accurate.
As for the recent deployment order, the majority of the one million troops in Southern Yue were elite soldiers, and the ordinary soldiers within Kisia’s borders wouldn’t be of much use. That’s why Robin Bailey didn’t involve the regular soldiers from within the country. However, they could be useful now.
“By the way, what brings you here? Don’t tell me you came to see me. You’re a busy man, you know. Did you come to see me? Hmph, I suppose you want me to join the war,” Cecil Osborne speculated.
He didn’t refute Robin Bailey’s intention to wage war because Robin Bailey was now his superior’s superior’s superior, and he didn’t even need an official deployment order. A single statement would suffice.
“Yes, I discovered the Harding family’s traces in the Border Sea, so I want to mobilize troops to suppress them,” Robin Bailey confirmed.
Robin Bailey took a step forward and said, “The Harding family!”
Upon hearing the name “The Harding family,” a hint of murderous intent flashed in Mr. Osborne’s eyes. For every soldier, their greatest disdain was not for enemies but for traitors because they detested being stabbed in the back. And The Harding family was the most detested clan among them-a network of mixed races, a crime punishable by death in any era.
“Very well, tell me what you need, and I’ll cooperate,” Mr. Osborne nodded.
“Summon all the officers. I want to hold a meeting,” Robin Bailey commanded.
“Understood.”
After receiving the order, Cecil Osborne immediately took action. He didn’t tolerate any delay when it came to military orders. Within a short ten minutes, all the officers at the rank of company commander and above in the military district had been summoned.
The meeting took place inside a large tent.
“What’s going on?”
The officers were stunned when they arrived because at the top, there was a young man sitting in the main seat.
Yes, a young man.
Robin Bailey wasn’t very old, only twenty-eight. In the eyes of these officers, he was considered young.
“Who is this person sitting in the main seat while General Zhao is standing beside him?”
“He’s so young. Is he a privileged child from the capital?”
“That doesn’t make sense. Mr. Osborne has a strong temperament. Even if he were a privileged child from the capital, he wouldn’t be intimidated.”
The officers began to discuss among themselves.
Then, Robin Bailey took his seat in the main position, looked at the crowd below, smiled, and said, “I suppose none of you know who I am, so let me introduce myself. My name Robin Bailey.”
“Robin Bailey… Who is he… Oh my god… The War God!”
Initially, some people didn’t think much of the name, but the next second, their eyes widened.
This was the War God!
Soon after, everyone began to react, causing a wave of shock and awe.
The War God had arrived.
Robin Bailey placed his hand on the table, his eyes as dark as ink, watching the crowd. “Today, I’m here to eliminate the members of The Harding family who are present here. Colluding with foreign races is a capital offense. Step forward, and you may avoid death.”
Instantly, a surge of pressure emanated from him. All the officers, except for Mr. Osborne, were overwhelmed by this force and knelt down. Some stronger ones managed to kneel on one knee, but their bodies trembled, their faces turned pale, and cold sweat dripped incessantly.
