Chapter 541: The Brighton family, Patrick Bailey’s Best Refuge

“Suspicious?”
Robin Bailey whispered.
“Yes, there seems to be a signal, but the Brighton family has a signal blocker, so we can’t trace where the signal is going,” the wolf guard reported.
This wolf guard wasn’t just skilled in combat; they also had technical expertise. After all, it was the age of technology.
“Are there others in the Brighton family?” Robin Bailey inquired again.
“There’s also Stuart Holt’s mother and father,” the wolf guard reported. Stuart Holt’s mother and father had been investigated, even probed by the wolf guard, but they genuinely seemed to know nothing. Only Grover Holt raised suspicions.
That’s why today’s scene unfolded.
Robin Bailey decided to investigate personally. Perhaps Stuart Holt had informed Grover Holt but kept it a secret from his parents.
“Keep an eye on them; the snake will reveal itself eventually,” Robin Bailey finished his drink and left.

Meanwhile, Grover Holt had made a phone call.
“Bro, I met that Patrick Bailey today, the one wanted by the Braton family. He claims to have found someone behind you and wants to join forces to take down the Braton family.”
Grover Holt spoke over the phone.
In his bedroom, Grover Holt used an unused phone and a never-used SIM card. He closed all the curtains before calling Stuart Holt. His brother had instructed him only to call in critical situations.
Now, Grover Holt felt it was such a time, as someone had likely traced Stuart Holt.
“Hmm?”
A skeptical voice came from the other end of the phone, followed by, “Tell me in detail.”
“Alright, this morning, I didn’t habitually…”
Grover Holt recounted everything that happened this morning in great detail, making sure not to miss any crucial points. After finishing, there was silence for three minutes. Grover Holt dared not even breathe. Finally, Stuart Holt said, “You may have exposed me. Unless it’s a matter of life and death, don’t contact me in the next few days.”
“Okay.”
Grover Holt agreed.
The call ended.
Sitting on the floor, Grover Holt wiped sweat from his face. He realized his brother was loyal to some force, and he couldn’t afford to expose that allegiance.
“Patrick Bailey, he actually tried to probe me. Do they really think Grover Holt is so easy to test?”
After recovering, Grover Holt remembered Robin Bailey and sneered. He took out his phone and made a call, “Director Ding, I know you’re looking for Patrick Bailey. He’s at Akita Villa. You better hurry; time is running out.”
“Alright.”
Ferdinand Braton replied.
After hanging up, Grover Holt chuckled, “Kid, daring to probe me, you’ve got some guts.”
He had already sent Ferdinand Braton to find the guy.
An hour later, Akita Villa, a leisurely resort, suddenly had many people in black surrounding it, intimidating the guests and alarming the owner.
“Chairman Ding, why such a show of force? What’s the matter?”
The owner walked out, frowning at Ferdinand Braton and his entourage.
“Everyone, you probably know that my son Joe Braton was harmed by someone named Patrick Bailey. Now, I’m wanted all over the city, and I received information that he’s hiding in your Akita Villa,” Ferdinand Braton, somewhat bald but incredibly imposing, explained.
“Well…”
The owner wasn’t someone to be trifled with either. He wanted to argue a bit, considering he was the owner. Even though he couldn’t match Ferdinand Braton, he wanted to resist a bit for the customers’ sake. How could they just search the rooms like that?
However, Ferdinand Braton’s henchmen presented a photo to the villa owner, saying, “Boss, take a look. Do you recognize this person? This is Patrick Bailey.”
“This!”
The owner was stunned, as were the people around him. Everyone recognized the person in the photo-the guy who played cards with Grover Holt. Many had watched that game.
“I’ve seen this guy before,” someone muttered.
“The one who played cards, he’s pretty good.”
“The guy who failed to chat up the girl at the bar.”
“I’ve seen him too.”
Hearing these responses, Ferdinand Braton’s eyes narrowed. It really was him. He quickly told the villa owner, “Mr. Brighton, this is crucial. Consider this a favor owed to you.”
“Chairman Ding, please, take your men to apprehend him.”
The villa owner stepped back.
Ferdinand Braton led his men to the room. When they kicked the door open, they found it empty. Ferdinand Braton demanded, “Where is he? Search for him!”
At his command, Akita Villa was turned upside down, but they found nothing. Then, one of his henchmen came over with a phone and a video clip, saying, “Boss, this is from the surveillance. It’s indeed Patrick Bailey. He left an hour ago.”
No surveillance inside the room, but there was in the corridor.
“An hour ago, exactly when Grover Holt called me,” Ferdinand Braton pondered.
“He’s gone?”
Where could he have gone?
Just as he was thinking, the villa’s owner brought over the suspicious staff member. Ferdinand Braton’s men had caught him, saying, “Boss, this guy was acting suspiciously, watching us secretly. We suspect he’s associated with Patrick Bailey.”
“No… no… I’m not with Patrick Bailey. I just want to sell some information to Chairman Ding.”
The staff member trembled.
“Information? What information?” Ferdinand Braton furrowed his brow.
“Well… the price?”
The staff member hesitated but didn’t speak.
A cold glint flashed in Ferdinand Braton’s eyes. Even at this moment, the guy wanted to negotiate a price. He was relieved that the information seemed genuine and important.
“Tell me the price; I’ll make it worth your while.”
Ferdinand Braton waved his hand.
“Okay, here it is. When I was cleaning the corridor, I accidentally overheard Patrick Bailey’s call. He was talking to Grover Holt, claiming that Grover Holt had reported on you and wanted you to bring people. At that moment, Patrick Bailey was returning to the main city. It was the best time to return to the main city.”
“Also, you probably know that Grover Holt has a close relationship with Patrick Bailey. Patrick Bailey even helped him win against Tad Buckley. Maybe Patrick Bailey is at Grover Holt’s house now because he reported, and according to conventional thinking, you wouldn’t search his house. Plus, he’s Stuart Holt’s brother.”
“So, the Brighton family is probably the best refuge for Patrick Bailey.”
