On the street, the lampposts were gently illuminating the surroundings, and there were few pedestrians on the road. At a glance, there were only two people-Kimi Hall and Robin Bailey. However, they had come to a stop on the road. Due to Kimi Hall’s sore feet, she was sitting on a stone bench, looking at her feet with a hint of distress, showing red marks on them.
She had strained her feet from running too fast, causing pain with every step. Therefore, she decided to take a break at this spot.
“Um, how about you go ahead, and I’ll hobble back slowly?” Kimi Hall raised her head, glanced at Robin Bailey, and spoke kindly.
However, after a glance from Robin Bailey, he squatted down, grabbing Kimi Hall’s foot. Kimi Hall felt a bit uneasy; no man, except her father, had ever touched her feet. But Robin Bailey said, “Don’t move.”
Those two words seemed to have magical power, instantly making her freeze in place. Then, Robin Bailey removed her shoes, revealing a pair of Peppa Pig socks. Robin Bailey raised his head, and Kimi Hall’s face turned bright red. “Oh, Peppa Pig is so adorable. Don’t you think so?”
“Yes, very cute,” Robin Bailey smiled. Tonight, he was genuinely moved by this girl. Initially, he didn’t take Kimi Hall seriously. Still, when she was willing to make a deal with Joe Braton for his sake, he was touched.
This silly girl was adorably foolish, making him feel a bit sorry for her. So, he played along with Kimi Hall’s words.
“Exactly, Peppa Pig is really cute-George, Peppa… um, ah…”
Originally, Kimi Hall was continuing her words, but suddenly, she screamed, not a normal scream but a moan that escaped involuntarily. Kimi Hall covered her mouth, her face turning even redder.
She looked down and found Robin Bailey massaging her feet. “Uh, I, just now… um…”
She felt like crying.
She didn’t know how to explain, and she didn’t even understand why she had screamed just now.
“It’s normal; I’m massaging your feet and pressing on your acupoints. That’s why you couldn’t help but make a sound. Don’t worry; I’ll be gentler from now on.” Robin Bailey reassured her.
“Oh, okay.” Kimi Hall nodded. The sensation from earlier still lingered, but it was fainter, and her feet felt warm.
After a while, Robin Bailey asked, “Does it still hurt now?”
Kimi Hall exerted some force, stood up, and frowned slightly. “It’s much better than before, but it still hurts a bit. I can walk slowly. How about you go ahead, and I’ll make my way back slowly?”
“Are your parents not worried about you going back slowly?” Robin Bailey asked.
“Um…” Kimi Hall was startled; indeed, they must be frantic by now. Then, she suddenly felt her body sway, the scenery turning upside down. Next, she found herself in a warm embrace, feeling bursts of the man’s masculine aura. When she looked up, she saw Robin Bailey’s face.
She was now being carried in a princess hold by Robin Bailey.
“It’s hard to get a cab here, and if you go back now, it might be the next day. So, I took the liberty.” Robin Bailey explained.
“No problem.” Kimi Hall nestled in Robin Bailey’s arms, her face blushing. Her voice was as soft as a mosquito’s bite. This was the first time she had been held by a man, and it felt nice. However, she suddenly remembered something.
When a girl is held in a princess carry, she should wrap her arms around the boy’s neck.
So, after hesitating for a moment, Kimi Hall extended her hands and placed them around Robin Bailey’s neck. She didn’t dare look at Robin Bailey, burying her face in his chest, saying like a mosquito, “I’m helping you save energy.”
Moreover, her heart was pounding non-stop.
This stretch of road was long, very long. They walked for a full hour. However, in Kimi Hall’s eyes, it felt very short, as if it had only been a few minutes. Yet, in these few minutes, she fell asleep in Robin Bailey’s arms, sleeping soundly, more soundly than she had ever slept before.
It wasn’t until Robin Bailey reached a streetlight that he saw the barbecue stall. Robin Bailey didn’t know where Kimi Hall’s home was, so he could only return to the barbecue stall. Coincidentally, Kimi’s parents were still waiting there, looking anxious.
It was now 3 AM, but they were still waiting. Only when they saw Robin Bailey and Kimi Hall’s figures did they finally let go of their worries. Kimi’s mother rushed over and asked, “What happened to her?”
“She fell asleep,” Robin Bailey didn’t say much, just that she fell asleep. His voice was low, afraid of waking Kimi Hall.
Today’s twists and turns, ups and downs, had indeed exhausted Kimi Hall. She fell asleep without realizing it.
“Oh, oh,” Kimi’s mother nodded repeatedly. Then she turned to Kimi’s father and said, “She fell asleep.”
Both of their eyes were shining.
Because they knew one of Kimi Hall’s habits-this girl couldn’t sleep in a bed that wasn’t her own. Even when she first went to school, she suffered from insomnia for several days. Not to mention sleeping in a man’s arms; it was impossible.
The only explanation was that Kimi Hall often slept in Robin Bailey’s arms.
“This little girl, when did she start dating and didn’t tell us? We teased her a couple of times, and she kept denying it, blushing and struggling. But privately, this little girl has long been sleeping in someone else’s arms. Look at this, this is your daughter, a sly little fox. She’s really, elbows out.” Kimi’s mother murmured to herself.
“Stop talking, let’s go home first.” Kimi’s father also knew Kimi’s mother’s temperament, talkative and chatty. He had gotten used to it, listening with one ear and letting it out from the other. Ignoring her was the best choice. He quickly led the two back home.
Kimi Hall’s home wasn’t far from this barbecue stall, about one street away. The environment was ordinary, but at least they had a two-bedroom apartment. Over the years, they had worked hard, tirelessly grilling barbecue, and earned some money, allowing them to afford this two-bedroom apartment.
“Her room is here.” Kimi’s mother personally opened the door for Robin Bailey. After Robin Bailey carried Kimi Hall inside, the room was very clean, with not many dolls but more cleanliness, tidiness, and simplicity. The bed had neatly arranged blue water-patterned sheets. Next to it was a desk with a mirror, probably used as a dressing table, but there were no cosmetics on it, only a pile of books. It was evident that Kimi Hall was a studious woman-a top student.
A kind-hearted top student.
From Kimi Hall’s appearance, one could see that she was a kind-hearted top student.
After Robin Bailey put Kimi Hall down, he prepared to leave. However, Kimi’s mother blocked the doorway. “The toiletries are over there. You can use Kimi’s. As for clothes, I’ll find your uncle’s for you. Don’t leave tonight. We know about the situation. In the future, you can stay here. Find a time to settle things. Got it?”
