Dahlia Tower. Robin wanted to go up, but was stopped by the security guards at the door.
“Stop right there, what are you here for?” Two security guards waved their electric batons around as they looked at Robin up and down. Although he was wearing clean clothes, none of them were luxury brands, which immediately made the guards flash a look of disdain.
What a poor lad. How dare he want to enter their Dahlia Tower.
“Looking for someone,” Robin said lightly.
“Who are you looking for?” The two guards asked again.
“Elijah Wilson,” Robin uttered those two words.
“Elijah Wilson? He’s our CEO! You, looking like a broke nobody, actually want to enter Dahlia Tower and see our CEO? Hilarious,” one of the passing female managers, Lu Xinshuang, sneered loudly.
“Manager,” the two guards quickly bowed their heads when they saw this woman.
Marie, the general manager of Dahlia Tech, was also the number one fangirl of the Dahlia Tower CEO Elijah Wilson. She had been obsessively pursuing the CEO.
She was the first to stand up against anything that defamed Elijah Wilson.
“No appointment,” Robin shook his head, “let him know I’m here, he will come see me.”
“Hah, let him know and he’ll come see you? Hilarious. Who do you think you are? He’s the CEO of Dahlia Tower! The CEO! Do you understand? You said to let him know and he’ll come see you?” Marie sneered with her arms crossed, “I see, you must have ulterior motives against our CEO. Guards, beat him out of here. From now on, beat him every time you see him.”
With a wave of her hand, the guards came at Robin with their electric batons buzzing.
“Kid, you’re finished. We’ll make sure you don’t leave without broken arms and legs today.” The guards closed in on him with unfriendly looks.
But Robin remained standing there with his hands behind his back, watching them. He said, “Are you really not letting me in and insisting on breaking my legs?”
“Nonsense,” Marie sneered.
“What’s your name?” Robin looked at Marie.
“I’m Marie, and I’m the one stopping you today,” Marie said arrogantly with her arms crossed.
“I see.” Robin took out his phone and made a call, “I can treat your leg condition, but I’m being stopped at the door by your security guards. There’s a woman called Marie who’s threatening to break my legs.”
After saying that, he hung up the phone.
They were able to hear the content clearly, but Marie just sneered with her arms crossed, “Who did you call? Our CEO? Hilarious. Our CEO is extremely busy, why would he care about you? Moreover, even I don’t know the CEO’s private number. How would you know? Go ahead and pretend, pretend, I’ll give you one minute. Let’s see what you can pretend.”
Marie looked at her watch.
After a minute, Marie looked up with a sneer on her face, “Times up. You didn’t manage to call anyone, right? I gave you a chance but you couldn’t grasp it. Go on, break his legs.”
Marie waved her hand and the guards came at Robin.
But just as the guards’ electric batons were about to hit Robin, a stern voice rang out from inside the building, “Stop!”
The guards stopped their hands.
Because they recognized this voice – it belonged to their CEO’s bodyguard who also served as his secretary. The man’s name was Abner Wilson.
When they turned to look, it really was Abner Wilson.
A sturdy man in a suit.
“Mr. Wilson,” everyone saw him and Marie also saw him, quickly lowering her head.
But Marie said to Abner Wilson, “Mr. Wilson, why did you stop them? This guy was trying to break into our group and cause trouble. I was driving him out.”
“Driving him out?” Abner Wilson walked up to Marie and looked at her before saying sternly, “Driving him out? The CEO asked me to come get him. How can I come get him if you drive him out?”
“The CEO asked you to come get him?!” Marie was stunned.
So it was really the CEO who picked up that call?
Impossible!
How was that possible?
Even she didn’t know the CEO’s private number.
She was the CEO’s number one fan, she knew everything about the CEO, including that he had a private number. But only a few people knew that number!
She didn’t even know it.
There’s no reason this guy would know!
But Abner Wilson had already come up to Robin and bowed, “Sir, sorry about that, our staff was rude. The CEO has asked me to come get you.”
“Let’s go,” Robin followed Abner Wilson up.
Marie was unwilling and puzzled about why this was happening, but Abner Wilson rejected her attempt to follow them up. Having no other choice, she anxiously waited in the office.
“That guy must have gotten the CEO’s number from somewhere shady. And mentioning treating his leg – he must be a scam artist. We’ve had scam artists try to scam money from Dahlia Tower before,” Marie muttered unhappily.
Meanwhile, Robin had already gone up to the top floor office.
The decor at the top floor office was not extravagant, rather it gave off a solemn and serious vibe, with a few paintings that looked quite artistic. By the window sat a young man in a wheelchair, wearing gold-rimmed glasses, looking at the sunset outside.
He turned around to look at Robin.
He had a very handsome and distinguished air about him.
It was just a pity that he was confined to a wheelchair, evoking a sigh about the twists of fate.
“Can you really cure my legs?” Elijah Wilson asked.
He didn’t ask how Robin got his private number, only focusing on the critical point – whether Robin could cure his legs.
His legs were crippled in an accident during childhood, and no one had been able to cure them ever since.
“Young master, don’t listen to this guy’s nonsense,” said another old man in the office, wearing a white coat. He was Elijah Wilson’s healthcare doctor, responsible for helping to recover Elijah’s legs, but had been unsuccessful so far.
Now he looked at Robin with great hostility, “Young master, your legs suffered from necrosis of the nerves, atrophying them. This is an incurable condition globally. We have gone to every hospital and none could cure it. Based on this kid’s empty boasts, how could he possibly cure your legs? It’s totally absurd. I suspect this guy will ask for a huge amount of money to buy medicinal materials, and once you give it to him, he’ll run away. This shameless scoundrel is the bane of our medical community.”
