Chapter 432: No One Came

“Gratitude? No need.”
Robin waved his hand dismissively, “You are too weak, I don’t need you.” After that, he entered the waiting area.
“You may not need us, but I am not someone who doesn’t repay kindness. This time, I owe you my life. Next time, I will repay it with my life,” Kim declared boldly.
However, Robin couldn’t hear him anymore. The sound insulation on both sides was good. Soon, a doctor rushed over to Kim’s side and took him off for treatment.
In a short while, the surgery was completed. The two iron locks lodged in his clavicle were removed. His wounds were stitched up and he was carried into the recovery room.
A doctor came over, first glanced at Betty Laydon, and greeted her, “Miss.”
“What’s the situation?” Betty Laydon asked directly.
The doctor then began, “I don’t know how he survived with those injuries. They were severe, there were wounds all over his body, and there were those two iron locks in his clavicle. I’ve been practicing medicine for many years, but I’ve never seen such a case. However, he pulled through, and so did we. The surgery was quite successful, but his body may not be in good shape. He’ll have to rest in a wheelchair for many years before he can stand up again, and even then he’ll only have basic mobility.” The doctor looked complex, this man had really suffered severe injuries.
“Thank you, doctor,” Robin stepped forward and said.
“No problem, you are friends of Miss Laydon, we naturally have to do our best. Besides, we are not like that scum Trevor Bolton who has taken so much black money,” the doctor shook his head and left.
“About that…” Betty Laydon looked at Robin somewhat awkwardly, Dr. Bolton was from her hospital.
“It’s fine,” Robin waved it off. These were trifles, not important. They then entered the room where they finally saw Grayson Miller’s condition.
He was wrapped in bandages from head to toe, his face was the only part visible, pale and furrowed in worry, as if even in his unconscious state, he seemed to be burdened by concerns. His right hand was still receiving intravenous fluids. He was malnourished.
Robin came over, looked at Grayson Miller, and his expression turned complex. This man had given his all to him, treating him like a real brother.
“Alright, everyone out. I’ll stay with him,” Robin said gently.
Ann Roach, Betty Laydon, and others exited the room. Robin then leaned in and whispered something into Grayson Miller’s ear.
“I won’t give it to them.”
This sentence seemed to have some magical power that relaxed Grayson Miller’s furrowed brows. Perhaps Grayson Miller was worried about this very problem. Seeing Grayson Miller’s relaxed expression, Robin laughed. He laughed very happily.
After sitting with him for several hours, Robin finally came out.
“Master,” Nina Houry looked at Robin and said in reverence.
“Owl, Master,” Ann Roach and Betty Laydon both chose to call Robin Master Nightowl.
“Here’s thirty million,” Robin took out a bank card and handed it to Betty Laydon, “Take care of my brother for me. This thirty million is your reward.”
“Master Nightowl, you’re belittling me. If Master Nightowl considers me a friend, then I consider Master Nightowl a friend. Friends care for each other without needing any reward. Besides, Rain and I are like soulmates, we won’t even think about taking any money. And don’t worry, friend, I will take care of your friend,” Betty Laydon said, showing her high EQ when she’s not eating.
If there’s food involved, her IQ drops. She’s a food lover. Just like Nina Houry.
“Okay,” Robin is not one to be melodramatic. Since she didn’t want it, he didn’t force it. Instead, he said, “I owe you both a favor.”
“Thank you, master,” the two women were pleased.
Despite their high EQ and constantly calling each other friends, they knew they were not yet qualified to be friends with Master Nightowl. At most they could only be friends with Rain. Robin wouldn’t just make friends like that.
Everyone knows Nightowl is proud. His pride is sky-high. But pride also has its capital.
Afterwards, Robin left with Nina Houry. On the way, a call came in for Nina Houry. It was from an unfamiliar number. She asked Robin for permission.
Robin nodded.
“Hello?” Nina Houry said.
“Um… Miss Rain, when will Master Nightowl come? It’s already noon,” Chase Porter’s voice came through the phone, a bit bitter.
Robin took thephone from Nina Houry. He said, “Weasel, you’re truly a great information dealer, getting my maid’s phone number so quickly.”
“Master, you flatter me,” Chase Porter responded.
“Since your intelligence gathering is so outstanding, I’m looking forward to the information you can provide later. Don’t worry, I will pay a good price for it. Sometimes, I do abide by the rules of the game. Wait for me, I’ll be there soon,” Robin said casually. He then hung up the phone.
“Are we going?” Nina Houry asked.
“No, just teasing him,” Robin said with a smile.
Meanwhile, Chase Porter, who had been hung up on, was even more excited. He quickly signaled to someone on the roof, “He said he’s coming to buy information. He’ll be here soon, very soon.”
He was very confident. Because Nightowl said he wanted his information, he was certain he would come.
He had set a trap here, not only with Master Lewis’s men, but also some hired assassins. There was a huge C4 bomb below, which was sure to kill Nightowl.
Everything was ready, all they needed was Nightowl.
This time, he was certain he could kill Nightowl, get the Sword of Kings. Master Lewis had promised him, if he got the Sword of Kings, he would give him forty million. That was forty million! With that money, he wouldn’t have to worry about food and drink.
So, he was nearly laughing with glee as he waited for Nightowl.
However, he ended up waiting the entire day.
Chase Porter sat on the stool, his buttocks numb from sitting. He staggered over, leaning against the wall, looking at the moon rising outside. He shakily took out his phone and called Nina Houry again.
On the other end of the phone, Nina Houry’s voice came through, “Wait a bit longer, we’ll be there soon.”
