Chapter 430: Saving Grayson Miller

Book:The Warlord Is Back Published:2024-5-31

Grayson Miller had chosen to assassinate James Harding. However, James Harding was no ordinary man; he was always surrounded by high-level practitioners. In the end, Grayson Miller failed and ended up in his current predicament. But Grayson Miller did not regret it; he would never regret it. If given another chance, he would still make the same choice.
Robin supported him, taking slow steps out of the door. At the entrance, Dylan Harding and Nina Houry were deep in conversation. Nina Houry seemed quite restrained and even a little scared. Seeing Robin, she hurried over.
“I am taking him away,” Robin glanced at Dylan Harding and announced.
“Okay,” Dylan Harding smiled, then glanced at Nina Houry and pointed to his phone, “Let’s stay in touch when you have time.”
Just a minute ago, Dylan Harding had added Nina Houry’s contact information. He had figured out Nina Houry’s background and found out something. Nina Houry did not actually want to follow Nightowl. After all, Nightowl was an assassin, a bloodthirsty killer. What lively and naive nineteen-year-old girl would want to follow an assassin?
She was just grateful, and unsure who to trust, so she had always followed Nightowl. But she did not like this life of constant danger and uncertainty, not knowing when an assassin might appear, when she might die. She didn’t like it, but she felt powerless to change it.
She was waiting for the appearance of a man, a man who could save her. And now, he had appeared.
“Okay,” Nina Houry waved her hand, her heart fluttering with excitement. Then she followed Robin and left.
Dylan Harding watched, ecstatic. This woman, he could definitely win her over. Because she was living a life of constant danger and uncertainty, yearning for someone to change it all. And he was just the man to do that. He was tall, handsome, wealthy, and seemed quite gentle. He believed that with a simple beckoning gesture, this woman would fall into his trap.
Then, with her head spinning from love, and his sweet words, she would help him steal the Sword of Kings. That way, he wouldn’t have to wait for the auction.
“Good things come in pairs,” Dylan Harding muttered to himself, “Not only did I gain a favor from Nightowl, but I also found out that I could possibly hook up with Rain. Today is truly a good day.”
However, he didn’t know. Nina Houry was teasing him. Robin was deceiving him.
After leaving the prison, Robin said to Nina Houry, “Call Ann Roach. She mentioned yesterday that her friend Betty Laydon is a nurse at a hospital they own. We need their help.”
In this unfamiliar place, Mountland, it would be better to have Betty Laydon come rather than anyone else. At least, they had a bit of a connection and it would be more convenient.
“Okay,” Nina Houry immediately made a call.
Betty Laydon and Ann Roach were both wealthy young ladies. Although they weren’t from one of the main families in Mountland, they still held some status. When they received Nina Houry’s call, they immediately agreed to help, and even offered to pick them up, for fear that Robin and the others would run away.
Less than ten minutes later, a red Porsche appeared. Ann Roach rolled down the window and looked at Robin, “Owl… Master Nightowl, please get in the car.”
She hesitated for a moment, but finally decided to call him Master Nightowl. She didn’t want to take the risk. This was a bet she couldn’t afford to lose, for the stakes were too high.
However, Ann Roach was not particularly afraid of Robin because she found that as long as no one provoked him, he would not kill. He was rather easy to get along with if one was gentle.
Once Robin and Nina Houry got in the car, with Robin in the passenger seat and Nina Houry in the back looking after Grayson Miller, Ann Roach explained why Betty Laydon wasn’t there. She feared that Master Nightowl might take it as an insult if Betty Laydon didn’t show up.
“Okay,” Robin responded lightly. But in his heart, he thought, ‘Sister, I’m not a bloodthirsty person. There’s no need to be so defensive. Unless someone is out to kill me, I generally wouldn’t kill them. And I certainly wouldn’t kill a woman.’
However, he only said this in his heart. His true identity had to stay hidden for now. The time to reveal it had not yet come.
Soon, the car arrived at a hospital, Saint Grace Hospital.
“Let’s go.”
The three of them helped Grayson Miller out of the car and walked into the hospital. Just as they reached the door of the operating room, a group ofmen with tattoos and a fierce appearance arrived, carrying a man covered in blood. Seeing Robin and his group, they hurriedly shouted, “Get out of the way! We are the Dragon Gang. Our boss needs urgent help. All irrelevant people, out of the way!”
“Dragon Gang’s boss!”
The faces of the people nearby changed. Dragon Gang was a notorious gang in Mountland, known for their ruthlessness and dark deeds.
“Make way, make way.”
“Don’t mess with these people.”
“Make way… make way…”
The people nearby quickly moved aside, not daring to obstruct. But Robin and his group didn’t move.
“You brat, can’t you see? Move!” one of the burly men leading the group barked at Robin, preparing to draw the large machete at his waist. If they didn’t move, he was ready to start a fight.
“Get out of here.”
Some people who had stayed to watch the drama quickly fled when they saw the burly man ready to draw his blade. This was about to turn serious.
“You, move out of the way!” the burly man waved his blade, irritably.
“So young, yet you’ve chosen to mix with gangsters,” Robin said.
“F*ck you!”
This time, the burly man lost his temper and slashed his blade at Robin. Their boss had been stabbed several times in a gang fight and was in critical condition. These people who were blocking their way deserved to die.
With a clang, the blade didn’t reach Robin but was blocked by a thin, long sword. The burly man grew even more furious, his attacks blocked again and again.
“You!”
The burly man was so enraged he couldn’t speak, all his attacks thwarted.
Just as he was about to strike again, one of his followers tapped him on the shoulder and said with a trembling voice, “Boss, stop. Touch your head. We’ve encountered a high-level practitioner.”
“My head?”
The burly man touched his head and felt a shock. His hair was gone. He had a full head of hair, but now it was gone.
“You did this!”
The burly man stared at Robin, disbelief filling his heart. Was it this man’s doing?
