Chapter 426: Wouldn’t Mind Being a Butcher for Once

Book:The Warlord Is Back Published:2024-5-31

She was ecstatic. Her family intended to use her for a political marriage, to climb the social ladder with the Scott family. But she didn’t want that. No one cared about her opinion, seeing as she was just an insignificant woman in the family.
She had no status.
No one cared about her.
Even if she protested, she would still be forced to marry.
But now, she didn’t have to. The Scott family had landed themselves in big trouble. They were struggling themselves, yet they still wanted to marry her? Dream on. As for the big trouble, naturally, it was the Owl… her master from the barbecue stand.
“I never thought I’d be this lucky to escape such a disaster,” Ann Roach muttered to herself.
She hadn’t expected that a simple trip to the barbecue stand would solve her biggest problem at the moment. She was overjoyed.
“Ann, what are you saying?” Uncle Tom turned his head to ask.
“I’m saying that because of my arranged marriage, the Roach family might end up being suppressed like the Scott family,” Ann Roach replied loudly. However, she looked far from scared, even somewhat happy.
“Ah,” Uncle Tom sighed. He was in a state of distress and didn’t have the energy to pay attention to her words. He quickly went to contact people to save the Roach family.
The entire Roach family was in a state of panic.
Meanwhile, Ann cheerfully returned to her room, chuckling to herself. These folks thought they would be implicated because of the Scott family. Little did they know, the Scott family was in trouble because they had provoked Master Nightowl.
As for whether the Roach family would be implicated, she didn’t think that Master Nightowl was the kind of person who liked to stir up trouble unnecessarily.
As long as the Roach family didn’t provoke him, they should be safe.
As for this matter, she wouldn’t tell them and let them worry.
“But really, who exactly is this Master Nightowl? He’s so powerful that he can even force the president of the South Commercial Chamber to call him master. It’s unbelievable,” Ann Roach thought, tossing and turning in her bed, thinking about Master Nightowl. She was quite smitten.
At this moment, in the car, Nina Houry also said, “Master, I think Ann Roach might have fallen for you. Perhaps you could ask her to keep you company.”
“Hmm?” Robin turned his head to look at Nina Houry, then with a smirk, he reached out his hand, touched Nina Houry’s chin, and said in a charming manner, “Are you jealous? Perform well tonight, and maybe I won’t need anyone else.”
“Master…” Nina Houry obediently nodded.
After getting out of the taxi, the taxi driver reported what he had just seen to Dylan Harding. Although Dylan had said not to spy on Robin and his group, that only applied to their residence. Outside, many of Dylan Harding’s people were watching.
As for Robin’s car, it had been confiscated by Dylan Harding, as was the rule for vehicles from out of town.
“There’s no one around,” Robin said casually as they walked down the street. With his perception, if there was no one monitoring the vicinity, then there really was no one around.
At that moment, Nina Houry finally breathed a sigh of relief, then gave Robin a light punch: “What do you mean by that, daring to tease me? Believe it or not, I’ll tell my older sister how you bullied me.”
“You started it,” Robin retaliated.
“That’s because I saw that cab driver was continuously stealing glances at me.”
“Actually, you played your part pretty well.”
“Really? I knew it, I have talent surpassing Cain Johnson.”
Nina Houry seemed quite pleased with herself, puffing up her chest. But at that moment, four men approached from the opposite direction, all appearing to be intoxicated. They staggered along, each arm in arm, effectively blocking the road.
“Excuse us, gentlemen.”
The four men stood at the intersection, asking Robin to step aside.
“Scram.”
Robin spat out a single word. At that point, one of the men, his face flushed from the alcohol, stumbled over, presumably to give Robin a light shove. It was a common gesture, but suddenly, a dart flew out from his sleeve.
However, the target was not Robin.
It was Nina Houry.
At the same time, the other three men moved swiftly to Robin’s side, reaching for the Sword of Kings. One of them bellowed, “Hand it over, or your maid will die.”
One attacked Nina Houry. The other three grabbed for the sword.
Their coordination was flawless.
However, Robin slightly lifted his head, a pair of pitch-black eyes flashing with disdain: “Just you guys?”
Then, an overwhelming aura burst forth.
In an instant, the four men were sent flying, quickly retreating. Among them, the man with the reddest face exclaimed, “Darkboard rank thirty-eight, so powerful?”
“Don’t be afraid, there’s four of us.”
“Hand over the item.”
“If you don’t, we will kill your beautiful maiden. We won’t hesitate to rape and then murder her.”
The other three uttered their threats, all announcing their names.
However, a smirk appeared on Robin’s face: “A bunch of ants dares to steal my property. Are you still dreaming in broad daylight?”
“Attack.”
A murderous intent flashed in the eyes of the four men.
And they charged.
At that moment, Robin drew his sword.
“Close your eyes.”
He ordered, clearly intended for Nina Houry. She understood and immediately closed her eyes.
Five seconds later.
Robin spoke again: “You can open your eyes now.”
At that point, Nina Houry slowly opened her eyes to find five bodies lying on the ground, all face down, their expressions hidden, mainly to avoid frightening Nina Houry, a young girl.
After all, she was just seventeen.
But, in truth, Nina Houry wasn’t too scared because she felt safe with Robin. By his side, it felt like the safest place in the world.
This was one of the reasons she followed him.
“We haven’t even spent an afternoon, and already two groups have confronted us, the South Commercial Chamber and these other uncouth creatures. However, these four ghosts probably have backers. Forget it, I can’t be bothered to deal with them. Only managing to get people with a Darkboard rank over seventy isn’t too impressive. Let’s go, back home.”
Robin slowly sheathed his sword and handed the Sword of Kings to Nina Houry.
“Ah, I should hold this?”
Nina Houry was taken aback.
She now understood how important this item was. Was he really just handing it to her?
“Yes, a fishing law enforcement,” Robin smiled. The black dragon tattoo on his face made him look somewhat mischievous, like a villain. He added, “If you hold onto it, they will dare to attack, and we can lure out more people. I want to see how many people this Kisia has who want this Sword of Kings.”
“Sometimes, if a butcher gets called a butcher enough times, I wouldn’t mind playing the part for real.”
