A full minute after she had bitten him, Nina Houry finally released her mouth. However, all that was left was a faint imprint and a puddle of saliva.
“Haven’t you eaten? Why is there so much saliva?” Robin looked at the mark, teasing Nina Houry.
But this time, Nina Houry got annoyed. She grabbed Robin’s hand directly and bit down hard. After releasing, she said, “You villain, always bullying me.”
“That’s enough.” Robin pulled back his hand.
“Hmph.” Nina Houry turned her head and snorted coldly.
“Let’s go.” Robin walked out. After exiting the doorway, his aura changed. He was still sharp, but no longer appeared like a good person, but rather a bad one. He was like a night assassin carrying a long, slender knife. He then followed Nina Houry.
“What’s your name? What’s your identity?” Robin stopped at the door and asked over his shoulder.
“Rain, your maidservant, sir.” Nina Houry had also changed, following behind Robin. Her expression was a mix of fear, joy, and admiration.
Robin glanced at her, “Art students indeed perform well. They’re quite serious. What should you call me?” Robin asked again.
“Sir, or, Master Nightowl.” Nina Houry bowed her head, speaking in a somewhat reverent tone.
“How did we meet?” Robin asked again.
This was something he hadn’t discussed with Nina Houry before, but considering that she was able to get into Stillwater University, she wasn’t stupid. Especially as a student of the arts, her mind worked quickly. Her voice was somewhat tearful, hoarsely she said, “My family was killed by robbers. You found me when you were passing by. Since then, I’ve been following you. I can’t repay your kindness, so all I can do is follow you. Although I know you’re not a good person either.”
In just a few simple sentences, their backstory was complete. Rain’s family was massacred and she narrowly escaped. She was picked up by Master Nightowl and has been following him ever since. This background would explain why a cute teenage girl would follow a notorious villain. She had nowhere else to go and she was repaying a debt. It completely fit her character.
“Good. I’ll tell you, my identity, a registered assassin of the Temples, ranked 38th, Nightowl. But I don’t like using Nightowl. I prefer to be called Owl, or Master Nightowl. Understand?”
“I understand.” Nina Houry nodded.
This Nightowl wasn’t a made-up identity, but a real one. Robin had used this identity when carrying out tasks in the past. However, he was just a registered assassin, taking on tasks from the Temples. He wasn’t a core member of the Temples, no one cared about him, and no one had his identity information. Even if they did, this identity was flawless.
“Let’s go.” Robin led Nina Houry out of the hotel.
The receptionist at the door bent slightly, “Thank you, please come again.”
“Get in the car.” At the door was a Land Rover. Robin got in, sitting in the driver’s seat. He waited for Nina Houry to get in before starting the car. Only then did he slowly say, “Listen, I’m going to explain our mission now. We’re here to deliver a gift. I have a sword in my possession, the Sword of Kings. It’s something Lord Whiteford of South Land has always wanted. The current master of Mountland is James Harding, a powerful member of the Harding family. Our task is to present this sword to him and then stay here.”
“And then?” Nina Houry asked.
“That’s it.” Robin said.
“That’s it? It’s that simple?” Nina Houry was taken aback. They had come all this way just to deliver a sword?
“Yes.” Robin nodded, “Just this. But don’t think that because that’s all, it really is all. We’ll probably run into quite a bit of trouble staying in Mountland. You should be prepared. Don’t run around. As a maidservant, you need to stick with your master.”
“Master?” Nina Houry was taken aback.
“That rotten scoundrel, how dare he say such a thing!” However, she couldn’t refute him now. After all, it had been established that once they stepped through this door, they would no longer be in a simulation but in the realm of live ammunition. “Yes, Master Nightowl,” Nina Houry obediently replied.
The place they had been was a minor location, while Mountland was several kilometers away. Therefore, Robin drove there. By the time they arrived, Mountland had already closed its gates. Ordinary people weren’t allowed in. Those who could enter all had permits.
“Hey, show your permits.” At the entrance, a law enforcement team set up by James Harding approached their car, knocked on the window, and acted extremely arrogantly. After all, they saw that the license plate wasn’t from Mountland, indicating that they were outsiders. In the current chaotic situation, outsiders in Mountland were worth nothing. Thus, they weren’t afraid of the people in the car and even thought about extorting them.
However, a flash of silver light passed by. A long knife was pointed at the man’s neck, making him freeze on the spot.
“What are you doing?” The other enforcement team members quickly drew their guns, aiming at Robin.
Robin sneered and said, “There’s no need to point such toy-like things at me. They’re useless. Tell James Harding that an assassin from the Temples, Nightowl, has arrived to conduct business with the Harding family.”
The Temples. This name immediately shocked the few law enforcement team members. Everyone knew that those who could enter the Temples were basically all assassins. This was a formidable force. The things in their hands really were as useless as toys.
At this moment, particularly the law enforcement team leader who was still puffing on a cigarette, his legs went weak. His face turned pale, and the previous arrogance vanished. He never expected that a random person he stopped would be so formidable. But that wasn’t the key point. The key point was that this person was an assassin, and a Darkboard assassin at that.
If this person truly killed him, the Harding family probably wouldn’t avenge him. In the eyes of the Harding family, the value of a high-ranking Darkboard practitioner far outweighs that of a law enforcement team leader. Not to mention, this person said he had business.
If he died, he would really be dead. No one would care. “That… sir… I was wrong just now… I…” The law enforcement team leader began to speak.
However, Robin’s long knife pressed harder and cut him off, “Shut up.” Immediately, the team leader closed his mouth, not daring to say more. This was an assassin, untouchable, and not to be provoked.
However, he was gesturing to the other law enforcement officers, “Quickly, go report to the higher-ups. If you don’t hurry, I’ll die here… Hurry…”
