Rolf Haynes thought about all of this internally, but he maintained his composure on the surface, continuously apologizing. After all, the person in front of him had saved his son’s life, and many people knew about this. If he were to use harsh words now, his reputation would be completely ruined, so he had to maintain a polite facade.
“It’s okay.” Robin waved the flyer in his hand, saying, “Is there anything else? If not, you can leave now.”
Rolf Haynes’ expression stiffened. Was he being asked to leave? Was he, the head of St. Sunday’s jewelers, being asked to leave? Was this for real? Usually, anyone who spoke to him did so with caution and respect, often trying to curry favor with him. But now, this guy in front of him was actually asking him to leave? He was being ungrateful.
“Well, young friend, I will leave then.” Rolf Haynes turned around to leave, his face clouding over for a moment. If it weren’t for the fact that many people knew about the incident, he might have wanted to teach this guy a lesson.
After getting into the car, the Lincoln started moving. From the backseat, Jennis asked, “Dad, was it that kind of guy who saved my brother? Could it have been a fluke? I heard that there was a medical science doctoral student there that day. Could it have been him who saved my brother, and this guy just took the credit?”
“Maybe.” Rolf Haynes gave a non-committal answer. He knew it wasn’t true. After all, he was a business elite and he knew it was Robin who had saved his son last time. But he would rather it wasn’t.
“I knew it, Eliott Garner is a good guy. By the way, he wants to visit our house, is that okay?” Jennis asked, sounding a bit coquettish.
“Eliott Garner?” Rolf Haynes thought of the medical science doctoral student from last time. An idea suddenly came to mind.
“Yes.”
“Thank you, dad.” Jennis looked pleased. She was sure that the person who saved her brother must have been Eliott Garner, a medical science doctoral student. It couldn’t possibly have been this guy who was dressed so poorly and was even handing out flyers. It must have been good luck that Eliott Garner had just saved her brother, and then he arrived. What a despicable little man.
On the street, Jeff Reczek approached Robin and said, “Sir, those guys seem not to accept it, especially that Rolf Haynes. Should I deal with them?”
With Jeff Reczek’s abilities, he could wipe out the Haynes family without leaving any trace.
“There’s no need.” Robin shook his head. These small figures were not worth their effort.
After noon, Rosey Chambers really cooked a delicious meal. The three of them ate at Rosey Chambers’ house, but while they were eating, an unexpected guest arrived.
“What are you cooking? It smells so good.” A man with a bit of a rogue walk came in, looked at the food on the table, and rubbed his hands. “Steamed shrimp, braised ribs, and cold white meat. Niece, you’ve done a great job. Did you know that there’s good news today and made these especially?”
As soon as he came in, he sat down and started eating, as if he hadn’t seen Robin and Jeff Reczek at all, eating on his own.
“Uncle Rodney.” Rosey Chambers looked at this man with a complex expression in her eyes. This was her Uncle Rodney, Rodney Chambers, a complete rogue.
“Why, you should sit down and eat too. In St. Sunday, your parents are not around, only your grandmother is here, and she is seriously ill. I’m your only relative now. I admit I haven’t taken good care of you in the past, but I will from now on.” Rodney Chambers played the sympathy card, looking apologetic.
“Really?” Rosey Chambers was delighted. Was her Uncle Rodney turning over a new leaf?
“Of course, I am your Uncle Rodney, your elder. Oh, come with me to a place later. I have prepared a gift for you. It will be a surprise, a compensation for being so harsh on you in the past.” Rodney Chambers said, patting his leg.
“Okay.” Rosey Chambers laughed joyfully, her eyes twinkling like crescent moons in delight. Quite adorable.
“By the way, are you two coming?” Rodney Chambers asked Robin and Jeff Reczek.
“Sure,” Robin replied.
“Great, we can go together. Consider it a post-meal exercise.” Rodney Chambers cheerfully said. However, a sinister glint flashed in his eyes. It was fleeting.
This caught Robin’s interest. Yes, they had to go. He was intrigued to see what big ‘surprise’ Rodney Chambers could pull off.
After the meal, they headed out. Parked at the door was a Volkswagen, Rodney Chambers sat in the driver’s seat, urging them, “Hurry up, get in, I’ll take you there.”
“Uncle Rodney, did you buy a car?” Rosey Chambers exclaimed in surprise. Although it was a modest Volkswagen, it was incredible that Rodney Chambers, who had never sought a job, could afford it.
“Yes, I made a little fortune recently. Get in quickly.” Rodney Chambers waved his hand. The three of them eventually got into the car.
Jeff Reczek sat in the front passenger seat, crossing his arms, a cold smirk on his face. Robin and Rosey Chambers sat in the back. Rodney Chambers glanced at Jeff Reczek and smirked to himself, “These two, who beat me up last time, will learn my real power today.”
After a short drive, they arrived at a large building. It was a club.
“Let’s go. The surprise I prepared for Rosey is inside.” Rodney Chambers led the way in.
Innocent Rosey Chambers truly believed that Rodney Chambers had turned over a new leaf and followed him inside with a joyful face.
Robin, with his hands clasped behind his back, took a few glances. “Sir, there are quite a few people in this building,” Jeff Reczek commented. His surveillance skills were strong.
“Yes, there are,” Robin agreed, “but they’re about to have bad luck.” It was unfortunate they had to encounter Robin, the man known as ‘Butcher’ or ‘God of Death’, the first War God of Kisia.
“Welcome,” greeted two plump hostesses at the door. They were very polite and gave off an upscale vibe.
Rosey Chambers, a country girl who had never seen such a scene, was a bit timid but went inside, trusting her Uncle Rodney. Once inside, she saw an even more luxurious setting. Not only was it luxurious, but there was also a bed of roses that looked absolutely dazzling.
The lights were dim for a moment. Then suddenly, they brightened, focusing on Rosey Chambers. A master of ceremonies then announced, “Today is a great day, the day our Mr. Harris, Andrew Harris, professes his love.”
Suddenly, a fair-skinned, elegantly dressed man in a white suit appeared in the middle. He held a bouquet of roses, walked up to Rosey Chambers, knelt down on one knee, and said passionately, “Rosey, since the last time I saw you, I haven’t been able to forget you. You’re in my thoughts when I eat, when I sleep. So, I’ve come today. Will you marry me?” He presented a diamond ring.
Suddenly, a crowd appeared below, all shouting, “Marry him! Marry him!”
