Chapter 296: Letting You Go?

Dr. Turner was momentarily stunned and, in the next second, sped up his pace. He didn’t want to deal with this person. Demanding a hundred million in compensation was really something else. However, after taking a couple of steps, he realized his position hadn’t changed. He looked over and found that the previously mentioned burly man had grabbed him by the collar with one hand, lifting him up effortlessly.
“My boss is letting you go?” Jeff Reczek was a true madman. With just one glance, he almost scared Dr. Turner to the point of wetting himself.
“You have the nerve to leave after turning a decent hospital into a den of thieves?” Robin walked over with his hands behind his back, his gaze somewhat disdainful.
“What do you want? I’m telling you, we are the number one hospital at St. Sunday, and we have big connections. You can’t touch us. Let me go, or I’ll make you regret it.” Dr. Turner struggled and protested.
“Big connections? I’m curious, what kind of big connections?” Robin asked, his eyes flashing with interest.
Big connections were good. If it wasn’t for big connections, Robin wouldn’t bother getting involved. He had come to Stillwater to fish, and without stirring the waters, how could he catch any fish?
“Heh, you must know about the Turner family of St. Sunday, right? I’m friends with an officer in St. Sunday’s military. If you dare touch me, be careful, because with one phone call, I can summon them to settle the score with you,” Dr. Turner threatened viciously.
“Oh? A military officer? Let him come over. I want to see who it is.” Robin gestured nonchalantly, not at all worried.
Dr. Turner’s face changed. What did this man mean? In the current situation at South Border, the military was supreme. During times of war, the military was in charge of everything. Nobody dared provoke them. But this man was not afraid – he even called them over to take a look. It didn’t make sense.
“Heh, if I call them over, you’ll be in trouble,” Favian Bird sneered from the side, his hands folded. He knew who Dr. Turner was referring to. That person wasn’t exactly their close friend, but their family’s protective umbrella. In the current chaos, every family had found a protective umbrella for themselves. The Turner family had chosen that person. In a critical moment, they could indeed call him over.
And that person was quite formidable, with a force of over a thousand armed and fully equipped soldiers under his command. In St. Sunday, their influence was significant. At the very least, they could easily take care of the youngster in front of them.
“Alright, kid, you just wait.” Dr. Turner immediately took out his phone and made a call. After hanging up, he sneered, “Let me go. When my people arrive, they’ll make you beg for mercy and wish you were dead.”
“Let him go.” Robin gestured.
With a loud thud, Jeff Reczek threw Dr. Turner to the ground, causing him to cry out in pain as he landed on his behind. “I can’t wait to see how you’ll make us wish we were dead,” Robin said with his hands behind his back.
“Just wait and see.” Dr. Turner rubbed his buttocks, a cold glint in his eyes.
Ten minutes later, the entire hospital began to grow restless. The sound of soldiers’ footsteps was clearly audible, and the air was filled with the scent of gunpowder.
“It really is the military.” Robin stood by the window and took a look. Real, genuine military forces.
St. Sunday was the largest city in the south, with a long heritage, numerous family clans, and a proliferation of wealthy families. It had a powerful military force, which was the reason South Land had not yet invaded. They had many concerns. Moreover, if they used force, they would likely drive the ancient city into a desperate situation, resulting in a lose-lose outcome. South Land would pay a high price for a ruined city, which would not be worth the cost.
“Kid, my people are here.” Dr. Turner’s eyes flashed with excitement upon seeing the soldiers. His reinforcements had arrived. This time, he would make sure these two were dealt with.
Step by step, the soldiers began to approach. When they reached this floor, Dr. Turner had already spotted the officer their family relied on at the front. He hurriedly walked up to him and fawned, “Hello, officer.”
“Where’s the person?” Jaime Rowe asked with a frown.
In truth, he didn’t want to come. He really didn’t. He had just offended a mysterious figure not long ago and was in a terrible mood. But when this person called saying his life was in danger, he had no choice but to come.
St. Sunday was now a complicated place. Even with a 1, 000-man army under his command, he couldn’t change the overall situation. So he had allied with these families to support each other through this crisis. Those with power in St. Sunday were all doing this.
He was no exception.
However, he knew that Jack Turner was not a good person. So as soon as he arrived, he asked where the person was. Then he would take him away, check for any evidence of guilt, and if there was none, let him go.
It was just a formality.
He had no choice due to the circumstances.
Of course, if there was actual guilt, he wouldn’t let this person off either.
“Here, it’s this guy. He caused trouble in my hospital and he caused a major medical accident. It’s very serious. I think he needs to be executed.”
“Execution?”
Jaime Rowe’s mouth twitched. Execution? This man’s words couldn’t be trusted. But for the sake of the Turner family, he would arrest him and detain him for a few days.
However, when he looked in the direction Jack Turner was pointing, his body suddenly stiffened. Not only did his body stiffen, but his pupils also contracted, and a cold sweat broke out on his back.
“We meet again, Jaime Rowe, Captain Rowe.”
Robin smiled faintly, looking at Jaime Rowe.
“You’ve met before? Ha, if you’ve met, you should know that my friend here is terrifying and not someone you can compare to,” Jack Turner said proudly.
But then.
The next second, there was a loud slap.
A powerful slap landed on his face, sending him reeling and falling to the ground. A large swollen mark appeared on his face.
He was stunned.
He lay on the ground for three or four seconds, still not understanding.
Why would he hit him, and with such force? Wasn’t he supposed to be on their family’s side?
“Officer, you actually hit me? Could it be that you’re not afraid of the Turner family?” Jack Turner hadn’t understood, but that didn’t stop him from scolding Jaime Rowe. After all, the Turner family was a major local clan, and their status was not something Jaime Rowe could compare to.
It was just that Jaime Rowe’s position was higher at the moment.
However, the look Jaime Rowe gave him was as if he were looking at a dead man.
“Your Turner family? Compared to this officer, what do you even count for?”
After saying this, he saluted Robin and said loudly, “Sir! It’s a pleasure to see you.”
