“I told you, that guy is nothing but a piece of trash.”
Israel Cooke stood with his arms folded, watching the scene unfold with cold eyes. Since Karl Giberson said he would handle it himself, Israel would let him. If the old man was killed, he would kill Mr. X afterward and truly steal the spotlight.
“Third one down. Are you next?”
Robin’s gaze turned to the arrogant Israel Cooke.
“Heh, Mr. X, do you really dare to take action against me? Attacking a member of the Skywolf squad is not allowed under national military law,” Israel Cooke said with a smug expression. His status as a member of the special forces earned him respect wherever he went.
“National military law? I’m sorry, but I’m not part of that. Oh, by the way, that law was created by my friend. There’s a premise that it only applies if the special forces personnel provoke first,” Robin said with his hands behind his back.
“Heh, you’re not part of it? How arrogant! And your friend created the law? Ridiculous!” Israel Cooke was furious. He had encountered many arrogant and self-important people before, but Robin was the most outrageous of them all. He even claimed that he wasn’t subject to military law and that his friend was the one who established it. However, he was right about one thing: The law only applied if the special forces personnel provoked first.
“Kid, you’ve really angered me,” Israel Cooke’s eyes filled with murderous intent, the intent of a Skywolf Squad member. He had joined the squad at the age of 28, which was rare, and that’s why he had always been so calm and confident in his abilities.
“Do you know something?” Robin adjusted his mask.
“What?” Israel Cooke’s hand tightened around his military knife.
“Out of all of them, you talk the most nonsense.”
“What?”
As soon as Robin finished speaking, Israel Cooke saw a shadow appear before him. A rough face with a hint of brutality grinned and said, “My lord’s talking about you, blabbermouth.”
As the words fell, Jeff Reczek threw a punch.
“Damn it!”
Israel Cooke instinctively blocked with his military knife. With a clang, he managed to block the punch, but his expression changed instantly as an enormous force hit him.
With a cracking sound, the military knife shattered, with the breakpoint at the exact spot where the fist had struck.
“Ah!”
Israel Cooke screamed, immediately raising his hands to block. But as he blocked, his face changed dramatically as waves of unbearable pain surged through his hands.
Boom.
In the end, he couldn’t withstand the force and was sent flying.
With a thud, he slammed into the wall, his chest covered in blood and a large hole.
“…”
Everyone stared at the rough man who had thrown just one punch and then returned to stand behind Robin, head lowered like a loyal follower. Yet, it was this seemingly insignificant follower who had crushed a member of the Skywolf Squad.
Unbelievable!
Inconceivable!
Unthinkable!
A member of the Skywolf Squad had been defeated just like that, and by a mere lackey at that.
Robin walked up to the fallen Israel Cooke.
“…For the sake of the Skywolf King… please spare… my life…”
Israel Cooke looked up with blood-filled eyes, staring at Jeff Reczek in terror. He had never encountered someone like this, someone who could cripple him with one punch. Then, he looked at Robin, knowing that he was the one truly in charge and even more terrifying. Gasping for breath, he mentioned the name in desperation.
He deeply regretted coming to this place.
It was too terrifying.
Fortunately, although he was crippled, he wouldn’t have to die. He and the captain of the Skywolf special forces, Skywolf King, had deep family ties. With Skywolf King’s backing, he was sure he wouldn’t be killed.
In the nation, there weren’t many people who would dare to ignore the Skywolf King.
He vowed never to set foot in Stillwater again.
It was a place of demons.
However, Robin sneered, “Skywolf King? What does he amount to? Since when did members of the special forces dare to use the name of Skywolf Squad to meddle in private affairs?”
“Mr. X… that’s the Skywolf King… he’s part of the national special forces… you can’t afford to offend him… if you let me go… I’ll recommend you to join them… I swear,” Israel Cooke said weakly, coughing up blood.
He tried both the stick and the carrot, first emphasizing on Skywolf Squad’s power and then offering to recommend Mr. X to join them. Israel Cooke had managed to get to his current position with his high emotional intelligence, knowing how to save his life in a situation like this. Most people would have let Israel Cooke go after hearing his words. But Robin was no ordinary person. He was the Primus of Kisia.
“I can’t afford to offend? Skywolf Squad, one of the three special forces within the country, has started to play these backdoor games now?” Robin’s gaze flashed with coldness.
“Jeff Reczek, call Skywolf King.”
“Yes, sir.”
At Robin’s command, Jeff Reczek dialed a phone number. “You want to call Skywolf… King? Impossible. The captain’s phone is encrypted. Ordinary people…”
Israel Cooke was still struggling to speak. However, the next second, the call connected.
“Hello?”
A deep voice came from the other end of the phone. Israel Cooke’s face changed because he recognized the voice. It was his captain’s voice.
Robin signaled Jeff Reczek to place the phone next to Israel Cooke. “Um… Captain… I’ve run into some… trouble… angered some people… I might need your… help… It could be big trouble…”
Israel Cooke’s voice trembled because the call had gone through.
“Big trouble? How big is it? When you come back, I’ll certainly deal with you. But for now, give the phone to whoever you have messed with. I’ll talk to him. Nobody can touch my Skywolf Squad.”
The words that followed were full of partiality, showing the captain’s fiery temper. But after the phone was handed to Robin, he simply said, “Upwood Horton.”
He had only uttered two words.
The person on the other end fell silent, all the words they had intended to say were choked back in an instant.
“Upwood Horton, just now, a man named Israel Cooke tried to kill me. After I dealt with him, he mentioned you and said that if I spared him, he would recommend me to the Skywolf Squad. Upwood Horton, you sure have a lot of clout.”
“It’s a mistake.”
The voice of the Skywolf King was filled with bitterness.
It was over.
Of all the people Israel Cooke could have offended, he managed to cross this formidable figure.
“Skywolf King? You can get out from your position now. You are not allowed to join the military for ten years. Also, before you leave, I will have a thorough investigation your Skywolf Squad. If there are any more incidents like this, you won’t need to leave.”
You won’t need to leave.
Just rest in peace within the Skywolf Squad!
