“Argh!” Andreas let out a cry in pain.
Covering his hand, he huddled up on the ground. His face paled, soaking in the cold sweat.
“Is it still your illusion?”
Robin strode over, looking down at him. With his hands behind his back, he looked like an emperor.
“No. It’s not my illusion. It’s not.”
Andreas immediately begged.
The pain in his broken finger sobered him immediately. He realized Thomas had died for real, and the man in front had killed him.
Moreover, Thomas died easily without being able to fight back.
Andreas realized Robin was more horrible than he had thought.
“Your Winfield should never have laid a finger on my beloved woman.”
Robin’s cold gaze shifted from Andreas. He walked to the sofa, looking at Elise, who frowned in a coma. His eyes were filled with tenderness.
“Sorry, Honey. I’m late.”
Robin gently carried her in his arms.
Elise was 5’5″ with a curved body and weighed only 105 pounds.
Robin smelt a faint fragrance from her.
As soon as Elise nestled in his arms, she felt like she was in a familiar place. By instinct, she wrapped her arms around Robin’s waist.
Her furrowed brows loosened gradually.
Like a baby girl, she nestled in his arms, sleeping soundly.
Robin thought she looked adorable.
“Let’s go home, Honey.”
With a doting smile, Robin lifted her and strode over Thomas’ dead body. Jeff followed him out of the house. The moonlight fell on them. Feeling the night breeze, Robin was delighted while carrying his wife home.
However, a man appeared behind the window of the third floor.
“Go to Hell, Robin Bailey!” Andreas roared ferociously.
As the oldest son of the Winfield family, he wasn’t a lamb. He acted just now to fool Robin.
Holding the pistol, he wanted to kill Robin.
After compromising, he believed Robin had been fooled by his performance. Therefore, he aimed at Robin and shot him, thinking he could definitely kill Robin.
“Bang!”
Andreas pulled the trigger. A bullet flew towards Robin. Andreas was professionally trained to shoot, so he aimed at Robin accurately.
Suddenly, Robin tilted his head to dodge the bullet.
“How could it be possible? Holy shit! How could he have dodged? Does he have eyes on the back of his head? Monster! What a monster!”
Andreas collapsed on the ground, feeling frustrated.
All the armed forces in the villa had been eliminated, and so had Thomas. Andreas had no other way.
He had never experienced meeting a man like Robin.
Robin had experienced everything on the battlefield, so he had gained an agile reaction. Besides, he had never been off-guard.
“General Bailey?” Jeff asked, rubbing his neck as if to ask if he should kill Andreas.
“Nope. Let me do it.”
With a murderous look, Robin kicked a mercenary as the latter had a bunch of grenades. The grenades bounced up, and he grabbed them.
While walking, he turned the grenades on by his mouth and tossed them towards the third floor.
“Boom!”
The first one exploded.
“Argh!” Andreas’ cry echoed in the villa.
Robin didn’t stop but continued to toss other grenades.
They exploded one after another. The villa was covered with fire soon. Andreas’ voice couldn’t be heard gradually.
Carrying Elise in his arms, Robin strode out of Winfield Villa step by step.
After sitting in the Land Rover, he called Timothy. “Hello, Timothy. Send your men to Winfield Villa for the aftermath.”
“OK, Mr. Bailey,” Timothy replied.
After a pause, he continued, “Mr. Bailey, Andreas Winfield has some unique background. He’s not competent but was sent by the Winfield family of Sanreramo. According to their family rules, he’s responsible for his life and death, and the family won’t care for it. However, it’s not certain.”
The Winfield family was influential in Sanreramo. Andreas was only the son of a branch family, so he was sent to Stillwater.
He was responsible for his own life and death, so he hired a lot of bodyguards, including Thomas. After all, he was the oldest son in his own family. Therefore, the Winfield family became one of the most influential families in Stillwater.
Without Thomas and other bodyguards, Andreas wouldn’t have become so well-known.
Timothy wasn’t confident because he wondered if the Winfield family in Sanreramo would break their family rules.
“Well, tell the public a bigwig with a strong background has arrived in Stillwater. His name is Mr. X,” said Robin.
He aimed to use Mr. X to distract others’ attention. No one would connect Mr. X with Robin, who was known as the worthless live-in son-in-law of the Houry family. Therefore, it would be more convenient for Robin to investigate the incident happening seven years ago.
Robin believed he would find the truth after continuing to check David.
Meanwhile, the appearance of Mr. X could also prevent the Buosont family from being in trouble.
Stillwater wasn’t as simple as it seemed. Robin had noticed several forces in the city.
“OK, Mr. Bailey,” Timothy immediately answered.
Robin carried Elise back home. However, Elise hugged him tightly, clingy like an octopus. Even when they were in the backseat of the SUV, she never let go of him.
After entering Houry’s Villa, Robin saw Leslie hunching over the dining table without eating anything. She had been waiting for her parents. However, her head lowered, and she almost fell asleep.
Suddenly, she saw Robin. Her eyes widened, and she hopped down the chair.
“Daddy! Daddy!”
Leslie pounced at him. Suddenly, she saw Elise clinging to Robin’s body and covered her eyes immediately. “Daddy! Mommy! Eww…”
Robin looked helpless.
He couldn’t do anything to stop Elise at all.
However, he enjoyed it.
“Daddy, it turned out you dated Mommy. I wouldn’t have waited for you if I had known it earlier. I’m starved. I want to eat.”
Leslie had waited for Robin, afraid he would be in danger. After seeing her parents, she breathed a sigh of relief.
Then she sat back in the chair, picked up her fork and knife, and started eating.
“Daddy, you are indeed an excellent cook. I love your dishes more than Mommy’s. In the past, Mommy was always too busy to cook for me. She usually took me to restaurants. We sometimes had fried chicken, fish n chips, or other fast food. I don’t like those things. I like dishes prepared by you, Daddy,” Leslie said while munching.
Robin only prepared some homemade dishes. However, Elise was too busy to cook, so Leslie had little time to enjoy those dishes. She envied her classmates for having meals with their parents.
“You seem to dislike your mother’s cooking skills. If she knows it, she’ll spank you.”
“Daddy, can you keep it secret?”
Leslie stuck out her tongue naughtily. A piece of rice at the corner of her mouth made her extremely lovely.
