Robin carried Elise into the house and put her on the bed. However, he didn’t take off her clothes as they were not so intimate.
They had only held hands so far.
Then Robin left the house, found a place according to the address, and knocked on the door.
“Code words 67,” Jeff uttered at the door without opening it.
Robin answered, entered the room, and rolled his eyes at Jeff.
“General Bailey, please be understanding. Leslie is your daughter. I have over a hundred thousand coworkers who cared about her in Fort Eastern. If something happens to her, they’ll kill me.”
Jeff rubbed his head with a silly smile.
Using code words was often used in the military. During some critical periods, they used a table of over a hundred code word combinations.
One soldier gave a number, and the other needed to answer the correct combination.
Robin rolled his eyes at Jeff because they were not in the army, and it was unnecessary to be so alert.
“Where’s Leslie?”
Robin checked the rooms. Jeff didn’t lack money, so he bought a villa and moved in shortly after arriving in Stillwater.
“There she is.”
Jeff led Robin to a room. Robin pushed the door open and saw Leslie writing her homework with a pencil while sitting on a stool.
She widened her round eyes, looking adorable.
“Dad?”
Suddenly, Leslie noticed Robin. She hopped off the stool and threw herself in his arms.
“Hello, sweetheart.”
Robin lifted her and pecked her cheek.
“Your stubble stings me.”
“Tickle, tickle…”
“You a bad!”
Although Leslie complained, she looked joyful.
“Pack up your stuff. Let’s go home.”
“OK,” Leslie answered sweetly.
Suddenly, Robin noticed the envious look on Jeff’s face and teased him, “You also want to have a daughter, don’t you?”
“Ehn.”
Jeff nodded vigorously. He thought Leslie was indeed lovely, feeling his heart melting.
“Look for a girlfriend. Stop fighting around. You’ve won against all soldiers in the troop.”
Robin propped his hand on Jeff’s shoulder and sighed, “I didn’t expect to have a daughter so soon. However, I’m satisfied.”
An idea came across Jeff’s mind. He asked, “General Bailey, can I be Leslie’s godfather?”
He envied Robin and wished to have a daughter like Leslie.
“Others said you were simple-minded, but I never thought so. You are indeed clever. If I agree, you’ll continue to fight and have a daughter, huh?”
Robin hit his chest while joking.
Leslie finished packing and trotted to Robin. Rubbing her hair, Robbin said, “Leslie, Jeff is your godfather now. You must respect him like respecting me.”
Leslie looked up at Jeff and asked gingerly, “My godfather?” After being with him for a few hours, she could tell he was easygoing.
“Call me Jeff.”
“Jeff,” Leslie changed her way to address Jeff, who looked touched. Suddenly, he was enlightened. “General Bailey, since I’m her godfather, I should give her a gift. Let me see. I have a Desert Eagle 782…”
“Never think of it!”
Robin kicked him and left with Leslie. He had to admit Jeff was a fool. If Jeff continued talking, Robin would probably mute him first.
Sometimes, Jeff was intelligent but sometimes not.
He was fond of fighting, so he worked for Robin since he joined the military. Among the soldiers in Fort Eastern, Robin was the only one he couldn’t win against in a fight.
All people knew Robin was the general, but the most competent fighter was Jeff, whose nickname was The Totipotent.
However, some old soldiers knew Robin was more competent than Jeff.
Robin took Leslie back to Houry’s Villa.
The following morning, Elise woke up dizzily. Rubbing her temples, she complained, “Oh! Damned migraine!”
“Wait… Last night…”
She snapped open her eyes as she recalled what had happened the previous night. While walking on the street, a group of men surrounded her, and she fainted.
She didn’t think those men were kind.
Elise wondered if she had been harassed. The thought tightened her heart.
After lifting the quilt, she found herself still in her clothes and breathed a sigh of relief. Then she looked around, only to see she was in her own room.
“Was it an illusion?”
Knocking at her forehead, Elise muttered in confusion, “It wasn’t like an illusion. It felt real.”
Before she figured out what had happened, her phone rang. She picked it up to check the caller ID and saw her grandfather calling.
She swiped to answer, and Gordon ordered, “Come to the company now, Elise.”
Then he ended the call.
“What’s the matter?”
Elise was confused. However, since Gordon had shown up in the company, it should be time for him to transfer the chairman’s position to her without any excuse.
Lucas Corporation would never stop them.
“Robin,” Elise called her husband.
“Let’s go to the company.”
“OK.”
Robing was doing housework, required by Karen. They didn’t have a maid to do it. Since he moved in, she let him do it.
Robin couldn’t reject her.
After Elise asked him to go to the company together, he put down the broom and set off with her. Half an hour later, they arrived at Lands Corporation.
Once entering the lobby, Elise sensed something wrong.
“Morning, Lily,” Elise greeted a receptionist at the front desk.
Awkwardly, Lily didn’t respond to her. Lowering her head, she ignored Elise.
“What’s wrong? We’ve known each other for years,” Elise walked up to ask her. They did know each other for a long time.
“What’s wrong? Ask the moron next to you. It’s all his fault.” Lily walked away.
“What’s going on?”
Elise glanced at Robin. Although she hated to admit it, she knew Lily referred to Robin.
“Nothing. Let’s go.”
Elise was puzzled, holding Robin’s hand while going upstairs.
In Gordon’s office, they saw everyone from the Houry family, including Rodney. However, Rodney looked highly annoyed.
Gordon was sitting in the host’s seat.
“Bang!”
He paced the floor and announced, “Elise Houry, do you know what a huge mistake you’ve made this time. According to our family’s discussions, we have decided to kick you out of the Houry family. You and your parents are no longer part of us now.”
