“Attack!”
No reminder was needed. Tens of thousands of Martial Hall disciples, gritting their teeth, sneering, brandishing their weapons, charged towards the Ghost Sect disciples.
In an instant, the battle intensified! All the Martial Hall disciples knew that once they joined Martial Hall, they had no choice but to obey Chris’s orders. For if they betrayed Martial Hall, death was their only fate. The corpses of the thousands of defectors served as the most potent proof.
Seeing this, Tiger sneered. “These deserters, these traitors, are not worth pitying!” Meanwhile, Chris calmly poured himself a cup of tea, the fragrance lingering in the air. In truth, these outcomes were within his expectations. Among the diverse group of disciples who joined Martial Hall, some turning traitor was expected. Chris’s task was to purge these turncoats, leaving behind only the elite, the loyal.
Meanwhile, Devil’s Frown’s expression turned incredibly grim. He suddenly realized that the Martial Hall disciples, with no retreat left, had become even more ferocious, ready to trade their lives for their cause, even in death, taking chunks of flesh from their opponents.
The casualties among the Ghost Sect disciples became severe. If this continued, his disciples would be annihilated! If that were to happen, the price would be unbearable!
With this thought, Devil’s Frown suddenly turned his gaze towards Chris. There’s a saying, “Catch the ringleader first!” Only by killing Chris could the Ghost Sect break free from the current predicament.
“Chris, today we settle this with a fight to the death! I will kill you and seize all the Dragon Emblem fragments on you!” With a roar, Devil’s Frown looked at Chris with infinite killing intent. Terrifying murderous aura burst forth from him.
At the same time, a blur streaked past. Devil’s Frown, wielding the Ghost Head Blade, lunged towards Chris. His speed was as fast as lightning, his momentum earth-shattering. Wherever he went, chaos followed, showing his extraordinary strength.
Meanwhile, Chris remained calm, still savoring his tea, seemingly enjoying himself to the fullest. This further stoked Devil’s Frown’s anger. As the branch head of Ghost Sect, the first envoy of the Hall of Death, no one had ever dared to disrespect him like this. It was simply too much!
“Chris, you are too arrogant! Die!” With a shout, Devil’s Frown exerted all his strength. The chilling Ghost Head Blade was about to strike.
“This tea is excellent, but someone has disturbed my enjoyment, deserving nothing but death!” Suddenly, Chris set down his teacup. Clang! A Dragon Spring Sword appeared in Chris’s hand. “Die!” he bellowed. Chris transformed into a divine dragon, wielding the Dragon Spring Sword, confronting Devil’s Frown.
Chris shone like a scorching sun, radiating countless rays of light. Simultaneously, the Dragon Spring Sword emitted thousands of sword gleams. Devil’s Frown’s face instantly changed. He continuously wielded the Ghost Head Blade to fend off the sword glints.
Chris’s lips suddenly curved into a sinister smile, causing Devil’s Frown’s heart to skip a beat. He had a sudden, inexplicable sense of impending doom.
In a flash, before anyone could comprehend what Chris had done, a swift, cold light flashed. The next moment, a hand holding the Ghost Head Blade flew into the air, blood spurting. “Ah!” Devil’s Frown let out a heart-wrenching scream, disbelief filling his eyes.
It’s important to note that during their previous encounter on Star Island, Chris was slightly inferior. One could say it was a six-four split in terms of their performance. But in just a short time, how had Chris advanced to the point of severing his arm with a single move? It was terrifying! What martial talent! In just a few days, Chris had improved by leaps and bounds, something unimaginable.
Without even thinking, a subconscious sense of retreat arose in Devil’s Frown. “Chris, I never expected to be defeated by you in the end. But it won’t be so easy for you to kill me!” With these words, Devil’s Frown turned and fled. His speed was extraordinary, vanishing in an instant.
Watching Devil’s Frown escape, Chris did not pursue. He just looked deeply, a cold smile playing at his lips. “You may escape today, but not forever. One day, I will bring you down,” he said. Chris had the means to kill Devil’s Frown, but he was keeping him for a purpose. He intended to use Devil’s Frown to draw out the true mastermind, the Hall of Death Lord Jenson.
For Chris, Devil’s Frown was nothing more than a minor character. The real big boss lurked behind the scenes, in the form of the Hall ofDeath Lord Jenson.
“Branch head is defeated!” “Branch head has fled!” “Branch head has abandoned us!” At the same time, witnessing Devil’s Frown’s escape, the remaining Ghost Sect disciples were thoroughly terrified. Their morale plummeted to rock bottom in an instant. “Escape!” “Escape!” “Escape!” In a blink of an eye, these Ghost Sect disciples chose to flee, while the Martial Hall disciples chose to strike at the routed enemy.
In no time, Tiger stepped forward, respectfully reporting, “Boss, apart from the escape of Ghost Sect branch head and Ghost Sect Chief Guardian, the rest of the Ghost Sect disciples have been slain! In this battle, we lost 50, 000!” Losing 50, 000 out of 100, 000 Martial Hall disciples was indeed a tremendous loss in terms of numbers. However, Chris knew that the remaining 50, 000, after experiencing this brutal battle, would undergo a transformation. In the days to come, they would become the backbone of the Martial Hall. Most importantly, after this battle, those who had naively sought to take advantage of Martial Hall would now fully grasp the reality: once they joined Martial Hall, there was no turning back. They either followed the rules or faced death!
Chris stood up and surveyed all the Martial Hall disciples. Each one of them had suffered more or less from the brutal fighting. Their clothes were stained with blood, giving them a disheveled appearance. Yet, their eyes were sharper than before, exuding a fierce and resolute air. This was something unprecedented!
Chris calmly stated, “I am pleased that you all have completely annihilated the invading Ghost Sect disciples. I believe that after this battle, you all now understand the significance of Martial Hall. As long as everyone works together, I believe the future of Martial Hall will only get better! To reward everyone for their hard-fought battle, I announce that starting today, I will publicly display four Dragon Emblem fragments in Martial Hall. All Martial Hall disciples are welcome to come and view them!”
Boom! This announcement stunned everyone present.
