However, Esther’s face fell again very quickly. “We’ve solved the problem of the spokesperson, but the issue with the new product is still unresolved.”
“Oh, what’s the problem?” Chris Shelby asked, puzzled.
“Ah,” Esther sighed softly. “The biggest issue right now is that although our new product has been developed, we don’t have market data for reference, so we have no idea what the audience reception for this new product will be like. All that market data is kept at the Shandale Data Research Institute. Though the data there is generally used by the entire industry, Nance Group is a major client of the institute. When our marketing department asked for the data, they were refused. They claimed that the data was confidential and could not be disclosed!”
At this point, Esther looked utterly frustrated. This market data was supposed to be universally used by all beauty companies, compiled based on their own product data. But when it came to Chester Group, it suddenly became confidential. Esther didn’t need to think hard to figure out why. The competition between Chester Group and Nance Group had become fierce, and Nance Group was a major client of the Data Research Institute. How could the institute risk offending Nance Group by giving the data to Chester Group?
But the problem remained. Without this market data, Chester Group’s new product would not be able to launch. If Chester Group had to collect this data on their own, it would take an indefinite amount of time. By then, Chester Group might already have been driven out of business by Nance Group!
Chris Shelby playfully nudged Esther’s nose. He then pulled her into his arms, looking at her with a doting expression, “I thought it was a big problem. Is it just about the market data? Don’t worry, I’ll go with you to Shandale tomorrow and we’ll retrieve the data. Not only that, we’ll also bring Lindsay Windson back to be the spokesperson for our new product!”
“Thank you, honey!” Esther’s face lit up with gratitude at his words.
Chris Shelby smirked, “What’s the use of just saying it? We need to take action!”
“Action? What action?” Esther asked, clearly confused.
At that point, Chris Shelby whispered something into Esther’s ear.
“What? You mean here?”
“How can we do that here? What if someone sees us? How will I show my face at the company?”
“My hard-earned reputation at the company would be ruined!”
Upon hearing Chris Shelby suggesting they do something embarrassing in her office, Esther immediately shyly rejected the idea. If they were caught, how could she ever face anyone at the company again?
“What’s the big deal? If you’re worried about getting caught, I can just make a call,” Chris Shelby said, before picking up the phone on his desk.
“Is this the CEO’s office? Tell everyone that no one is allowed in my office for the next two hours!”
“Remember, no one is allowed in the CEO’s office. Violators will be fired immediately!”
After hanging up the phone, Chris Shelby smirked, “Now, is it okay?”
“Honey, you…” Esther was speechless. She had not expected Chris Shelby to call the CEO’s office directly. It was utterly embarrassing!
“Wait a moment, honey. Why did you say that no one is allowed in my office for two hours?”
