“Again!” Tiger roared, his eyes blazing with defiance, despite knowing he was outclassed. Fear was absent from his demeanor. His courage only seemed to grow stronger with each clash. He had faced far greater dangers on the battlefield, after all. Even when surrounded by a sea of enemies, Tiger had never taken a single step back. Especially now, when MasterChris was watching him from behind.
Josh Clarke cast a disdainful glance at Tiger. “You’re not up to it. Let Chris step in. If you continue, you’ll die!”
“You…” Tiger started to retort angrily, but before he could finish his sentence, a figure descended from the sky.
“Master!”
“You’re right, you’re not his match. Step back!” Chris instructed after giving Tiger a glance. Then, he turned his attention to Josh Clarke.
“Today…” Chris paused, then chuckled. “Today is the day you die!”
The scene fell into a terrifying silence. Suddenly, Josh Clarke burst into laughter. It had been a long time since anyone had dared to threaten him, the leader of the Middleton Alliance.
The fleeting seriousness in his eyes betrayed his composed demeanor. Chris appeared ordinary, not particularly remarkable. But Josh Clarke knew better. Chris was the leader of the Southern Martial Alliance. He had stolen the Dragon Emblem fragment from Zen and the Ghost Sect. A man like that couldn’t be an ordinary individual. His strength was likely at the threshold of returning to nature.
“So, you’re Chris?” Josh Clarke stared at Chris and inquired. “Who exactly are you?”
“And who are you to think you deserve to know my background?” Chris retorted lightly, his words landing like a slap on Josh Clarke’s face.
But Josh Clarke wasn’t angry. He simply laughed and looked at Chris with an air of arrogance. “Chris, you killed Middleton Alliance’s Chief Guardian Zen and three thousand practitioners to steal the Dragon Emblem fragment. You deserve to die!”
“But I can give you a chance. Surrender the Dragon Emblem fragment to me and pledge your loyalty. Then I can spare your life.”
In the face of Chris’s imposing aura, Josh Clarke felt a hint of admiration. If he could recruit Chris, it would be like adding wings to a tiger.
“Heh!” Chris responded with a sneer. “Give you the Dragon Emblem fragment and serve you? Even if you were worthy, would you dare?”
Surrender the Dragon Emblem fragment? What a joke! Once something landed in Chris’s possession, no one in the world had the right to take it. And serve him? He’d have to ask the supreme being of Amerosia whether they agreed!
“You…”
“Good! Good! Good!” Facing Chris’s mockery, Josh Clarke laughed in anger. “Very well! Since that’s the case, don’t blame me for being ruthless! After I kill you, I’ll not only reclaim the Dragon Emblem fragment that belongs to me, but also slay your wife, children, and all of your family! I’ll wash the entire East Coast in blood! I’ll show everyone what it means to offend the Middleton Alliance!”
Upon hearing this, Chris’s expression darkened. A torrent of killing intent, centered on him, took form like a storm. Those who threatened his wife and children were to be killed without mercy!
“You want to wash the East Coast in blood? Let’s see if you have the capability to do it!” Chris drew his sword. A faint dragon chant echoed through the heavens and the earth. With one stroke, a magnificent momentum surged towards the sky.
