“What the fück?” John broke the awkward silence that filled the air around the kitchen room. He looked between Anna and Zach as if they came from a different universe.
“Johnathan, language!” Lola exclaimed, coming into the room and quickly looking apologetically at Zach. “Please, forgive this sudden interaction, Alpha,” she said politely to Zach.
“It’s fine,” Zach said. He looked down at Anna. “I’ll take you to School. Where’s your bag?”
Anna was left speechless for a moment. Her lips parted but no words came out. Until finally, she said, “It’s.. in my–uhm–bedroom.”
“Let’s go,” he said, grabbing her hand and dragging her along with him. He pulled her upstairs and walked his way to her room, as if he actually knew his away around the mansion his whole life.
He opened the door to her bedroom and she went inside to take her backpack from her desk. After that, they were already walking their way down to the living room where she said her goodbye to Lola. But before they could reach the door, John stepped in and blocked their path, standing his ground in front of Zach. Their heights were almost the same.
“We came here for her. We’re bringing her with us,” John said, voice rooting strength and anger for somehow.
“No, I came here for her. I’m bringing her with me. Now, get out of my way before I rip your head off,” Zach hissed, jaw clenching.
Anna gasped silently, eyes widening. Zach’s threatening words sunk into her head like a ship falling apart, broken and crashed. She couldn’t put the pieces together in her mind. Why were they both angry at each other? She had never seen them both this angry before and she wouldn’t wish to see it anymore either.
“Get away from her,” John growled, hands fisted. “And get out of here.”
Zach and John glared at each other, eyes burning anger and fire.
“Don’t you dare tell me what to do,” Zach growled, tightly holding Anna’s hand, almost breaking it. “What I do is none of your concern.”
John clenched his fists tightly. “It is, when it includes her.”
John started growling and so did Zach as the space between them began to lessen. The tension in the air started to grow intense.
“John, stop it!” Bea exclaimed.
“Goddämmit, Bea!” John yelled, frustrated. “He walks into our land and he’s taking her. Do you expect me to just sit and watch?! What else can he take away from us?!”
Anna frowned. She had no idea what they were talking about. No idea at all. She felt like she was out of there even though the ground shook beneath her feet as she felt their fury waving into the earth.
“I’m not taking her away,” Zach hissed. “She’s mine.”
“You asshöle–!”
Ben grabbed John even before he could launch himself upon Zach. John struggled from his brother’s grip but Ben held tighter.
“John, this is not the place and time for this!” Ben warned.
“I’m fücking it!” John hissed. “I don’t care!”
“Johnathan! Stop this nonsense!” Lola yelled in frustration. “It’s time to move on. It’s time to forget the past.”
“Can’t you see?!” John yelled. Ben held him tightly as he wiggled. “I can’t forget the past! I can’t! Am I supposed to forgive and forget?!” He laughed bitterly. “Fück that shït!”
“Zachary,” Lola said calmly, “Please take her to School.”
John exhaled a frustrated breath as they both walked past them. Zach held Anna’s hand as he dragged her outside the house. There were two trucks parked in front of the house and they went to the black truck. Zach opened the passenger’s door to Anna as she went in and she felt though as if there was anger radiating through the way he touched her hand and back. It was as if he was holding back his madness and fury.
Zach was gritting his teeth as he went inside the driver’s seat. He was beyond mad at the situation he was in. He should have known it would happen sooner or later. He and John never got along with anything at all. John still held a grudge against him because of the terrible tragedy that happened in the past. But he didn’t think it would be affecting him today. Now he was struggling whether he should take Anna away with him or just ask her to run away with him. There was no way John would forbid her. There was no way he would let John hide her from him. He wouldn’t let it happen.
“Zach, is everything fine?” Anna’s voice echoed in his ear. Then he realized he was tightly gripping the steering wheel and still hadn’t started the truck yet.
He snapped out of his thoughts and looked at her. Her eyes hid a trace of worry and fear for somehow. It was like she was afraid of him. He should have known it would affect her this way.
“Look, Kitten.” He sighed, holding her trembling hands. “You trust me, right?” he asked softly.
He watched as she bit her bottom lip, cheeks turning slightly pink and eyes looking up at him innocently. He couldn’t resist himself so he kissed her plump lips immediately even before she was about to speak.
He cupped her face and her hands covered his hands. “Yes,” she softly murmured her answer to his lips. For somehow, she did trust him.
“Everything’s going to be fine,” he said. He kissed her forehead and pulled away. Starting the truck, he drove out of McQueen Village and drove to Orlando.
John wasn’t just some man, he knew that. Johnathan Kingsley was the Alpha of the Blue Wolf Pack. But Anna knew none of that. The McQueen village was also part of the Blue Wolf Pack so clearly he was trespassing. But it wasn’t really a matter of violence since their packs were in good terms. But it seemed like things would be changing from now on.
After the ride to School, Anna got out her door, carrying her backpack. Just as she walked out, Zach was already marching from the other side of the truck and towards her.
Just then, the bell started ringing.
“Gotta go, Big Guy.” Anna gave him a tight smile and was about to run away to her first class but Zach grabbed her arm. She looked back at him questioningly.
Leaning against the side of his truck and pulling her to him, he smirked at her. “You haven’t kissed me yet, Kitten.”
She blushed lightly and leaned in to kiss his nose, then started pulling away again. He grabbed her back, his hands gripping her hips and pulling her body to him. He leaned in and this time, he kissed her softly on the lips. Closing her eyes, she kissed him back and meant it only to be a simple kiss. But he licked her bottom lip asking for entrance.
“Zach,” she murmured into his lips, slightly pushing away. Because she was freaking late for heaven’s sake and she would be very late if the kiss would go even further and deeper.
His arms tightened around her as she tried to pull away from him. She could actually feel herself being trapped around him and she felt like there were wandering eyes burning holes at her back. Her cheeks burned red, thinking about how embarrassing it was to be watched by everyone in her School. But for somehow, she felt eager.
“Zach, I’m late–”
He bit her bottom lip and she gasped silently, lips parting, as he quickly explored her mouth with his tongue. She exhaled a soft breath, almost in a reluctant submission, as her hands gripped his shirt. No sooner was she responding to him and had already lost track of time.
After awhile, they pulled apart breathless. She slowly opened her eyes to see him smirking down at her as she was blushing under his gaze.
“I think you’re late to your first class,” he whispered in her ear and she felt it crawling under her skin, making her hair stand on her neck.
She pulled back and glared at him. “No more kisses for you, Big Guy,” she said. Pulling herself away, she turned around and jumped when he lightly slapped her backside. She turned her head and saw the look in his devilish eyes, as if he was about to seize her once again and pounce on her. So she ran away quickly without glancing back at him and went to her first class, late.
