Anna stared at it for at least fifteen seconds and read the words repeated times in her head. Why do guys always do stupid things to break good relationships? she thought to herself after awhile. Even before, her friend, Evan Oliver, had kissed her once without her permission. Although he kept saying it was an accident, their relationship had ended straight after one minute.
She sighed as she put the note inside the pocket of her black hoodie dress. How could she ever forgive Jake for what he did when only after a few hours, he was already shoving his tongue down another girl’s throat. Shaking her head, she stared at the set of books inside her locker for six seconds then decided to take “Tuesdays with Morrie” (A/N: It’s actually a very good book.) by Mitch Albom.
She closed her locker and went outside the School. She wanted to be alone for a while so she began to think of a quiet place. The woods, she thought instantly. She watched her steps as she walked towards the trees, crossing the border line that separated the School grounds and the forest. The sunlight shimmered on green leaves and upon the blue skies. She looked around her surroundings, so amazed by the nostalgic scent of the forest.
She actually grew up in the woods. Sometimes, she would read a good book in hand, sitting on a tree or on its foot rather than keeping herself locked behind her bedroom walls. For somehow, she had loved the forest. She loved everything about it. It’s like a part of her soul which she’d never want to take away.
Lost, she walked further into the woods even though she had no idea where she was going. Until at last, she found a tall good-looking tree. She sat on the foot of the tree and leaned her back against it. She opened her book and began to read.
A few minutes after reading, she was already lost in the book. As always.
“You shouldn’t be here,” a deep voice suddenly growled.
Anna was pulled out of her trance as she jumped back slightly, hands flying to her chest. “Zach,” she gasped, looking up to see Zachary Harrison towering above her.
Zach stood approximately three feet away from her. He looked like he ran all the way to find her. His hair was one helluva beautiful mess. His chest was bare, the defined muscles of his arms and stomach visible to her eyes. And apparently, one look at his heaving half-naked body, she found it hot.
The book fell on the ground as she stood up shakily. He looked angry at her for somehow. Was he angry that she wandered alone into the woods? she thought.
Cheeks burning under his intense gaze, “How did you find me?” she asked softly, her eyes taking in his body.
“Kitten,” Zach’s deep husky voice murmured, smelling her scent growing sweeter. He approached nearer and she leaned back until she felt her back hitting the solid tree.
“What you’re doing is dangerous. You shouldn’t be wandering here alone on your own,” he growled, voice dark and eyes dilated. “You could’ve been killed.”
“I–I didn’t know,” she stuttered, looking down.
He leaned into her space, putting his hands on either side of her head and trapping her around his strong arms. Even so close, she could never underestimate their height difference as her eyes fell on the strong muscles of his arms. He was so tall. She could barely even look up at him properly whereas he only looked down at her.
His warm breath brushed against her forehead. He was so close! she screamed inside her head, as if she was trying to warn herself away from his proximity.
He leaned his head close to her ear, nose inhaling her sweet flooding scent. A familiar flow of feelings washed over her in an instant. She closed her eyes, feeling her heartbeat quickening and throbbing inside her chest.
Don’t let him touch you in any way.
Jake’s words echoed in her ear. But she barely even registered his meaning. She couldn’t push Zach away. Not like this. Not right now. Not when his proximity felt so right. Finally, she looked up at him and stared, their eyes locked in a gaze as she felt butterflies fluttering their wings inside her belly.
His gaze dropped to her tempting parted plump lips and darted back to her eyes. So innocent. So pure. So green. Like the evergreen leaves of the forest. Her cheeks burned red at the intensity of his gaze.
Zach lowered his head and crashed his lips against her parted lips. And she felt everything all over again. How sparks seemed to fly everywhere. How she felt tingles running up her spine. How she burned to the very core. How her skin turned hot melting from his touches.
His lips were familiar against hers. His tongue licked her bottom lip before nipping it and lavishing her mouth. She moaned softly, her hands slipping around his neck pulling him close and fingers softly stroking the ends of his hair. Then she was being pushed against the tree, his chest touching her heaving breasts. Then the sudden wave of the memories of her dream last night came over her.
It was him!
She was in heat. He could smell it around her as he ravaged her mouth deeply and she kissed him harder, slowly giving in. His hands lowered down to her arse as he kissed her, fingers sliding up beneath her black hoodie dress and stroking the warm skin of her upper thighs. But as he was about to lift her, to take the kiss deeper, to wrap her legs around his lean hips, he was suddenly pulled back and was sent flying all the way to the ground.
Anna gasped.
Jake, out of nowhere, just punched Zach upon the side of his face. Within seconds, Zach was already standing up and slamming his fist upon Jake’s cheek. Jake fell on the ground, his nose bleeding and eyes glaring. He was smoking mad like an angry mad bull, having seen them lost in a deep passionate kiss earlier.
Jake stood back up and growled. Zach growled back louder and his voice sent a wave of strength and power. Blind with madness anger and fury, Jake ripped his shirt off as both shifted to their werewolf form. Zach came out to be a big pure black wolf, eyes growing bright gold like the sunlight while Jake turned out to be a big brown wolf with hints of black and eyes glowing orange.
Beyond horrified at the sight, Anna swiftly fell down on the ground in a thud, eyelids fluttering close as darkness surrounded her.
