Samantha’s POV
Kayden rushed to me as tears slowly clouded my vision. I swear it was not my motive to kill her, I did not want to do that, I was willing to let Kayden do the judgement on her and not me taking judgement into my own hands.
“I am really sorry.” I mumbled and he hugged me, pressing my head against his hard chest.
“It’s okay Mantha, it’s okay as long as you are okay. Lauren had it coming already.” he said to me.
“But… But I was not supposed to kill her.”
“You heard him Mantha, you really should stop blaming yourself, it was Lauren, you did not go for her, she came for you herself and met with her death.” Cara said to me.
“You did no wrong thing, you were trying to defend yourself, I saw that and in the process you killed her, it was not your motive.” he said to me.
“Are you sure that the other would not think of me as one cruel lady?” I asked him and he shook his head.
“Why do you care about what they think about anyways? It is only what I think about that matters.” he said to me.
“That’s it, Kayden loves us, whose love do we need again?”
“Cara, we need the love of others too.” I said to her.
“I just feel… I feel like maybe some people have not accepted me totally here.” I replied him, remembering Lauren’s words that someone had helped her out of the prison.
“How did she get out anyways?” Kayden asked.
“I have no idea.” I replied quickly, I did not want Kayden to find that person out and punish such person, that would only make such person hate me more.
I was searching for their love and not their hatred.
“Let’s get out of this room for now and have someone clear this up.” Kayden said to me and helped me out of the room.
I heard him sigh softly as we stepped out of the room.
“Why are you back from work?”
“I came home to pick something for some meeting but I do not think that I would be going back to work.”
“You can go back, there… there is no one else now, there is no Davis and now there is no… There is Lauren.” I replied him, mumbling the last part of my words.
“You can go back to work.” I urged him.
“There is no need to do so anymore, the day is gone, I would not even be able to focus if I go back to work now.”
“I am sorry that you have to worry about me.”
“It is okay, worrying about it no worry at all.” he replied me and I smiled a little.
“The dinner tonight should be postponed since something like this happened.” I said to him with a soft sigh.
“What? Why? Of course not, James would be leaving tomorrow morning and we need to ensure that we have the last meal together and also… I have a really big thing for you tonight too.” he winked at me.
“A big thing? What is it?” I asked him..
“Don’t be too curious, it is a surprise, you can wait for few more hours before I reveal it to you.” he said to me and I frowned playfully.
“Sure then.” I mumbled.
He kissed my forehead and rubbed my stomach lovingly.
“You feel no pain here, right?” He asked me and I shook my head.
“No pains at all, I am perfectly okay.” I replied him.

That Evening
The last meal together was in the garden but it was not as I had expected it to be, that was because Cassie was not here anyways and James could not help but feel left out.
“Are you enjoying the meal James?” I asked him with a bright smile.
“Of course, it tastes so good.” he replied me.
“Do you want to share with us your best memories and worst memories of this mansion before you leave?”
“I would have loved to do that…” He started.
“But my happiest memories and my worst memories all have to do with Cassie and… And I do not want to turn emotional in here.” he replied and I gulped down.
“It’s okay then, you do not need to talk about it at all.” I replied him and focused on eating my meal once more.
“Kayden, you told me you have a big thing for me, where is the big thing?” I asked him.
“The big thing, you want to see the big thing?” He asked me and I nodded.
“Don’t you see the big thing underneath every night?” He asked naughtily and my face blushed red.
“C’mon, that was not what you meant back then, right?” I grumbled and he pulled at my cheeks.
“You are so cute, lovely and the best that I can ever find in the world and that is why I…. I want to do this.” he started and his voice cracked a bit, he cleared his throat and dipped his hands into his pockets while I just watched on for what could make even Alpha Kayden feel this nervous.
He brought out a small box and kicked away the table that he was sitting on, he went on one knee and my eyes widened.
I had seen this scenes in movies several times and I could hardly believe that this was really becoming a reality in my own life too.
“Samantha…. I know that I was really cocky from the start and I have not been the best to you but you are the best to me. Would you accept this big guy with his flaws and become my wife, staying by my side forever not to suffer…. I swear… But to enjoy this time around.” he said to me and I could not stop smiling and giggling.
I stretched out my fingers out eagerly as he removed the diamond ring from the box. He dropped the box and inserted the ring into my fingers.
I screamed out in excitement as soon as the ring touched my fingers.
“This is too good!!” I screamed out and hugged him tightly.
He spinned me around and dropped me on the table, he cleared a portion of the table and kissed me.
This kiss was different, the feeling was different knowing very well that you are now his and he is now yours!
2 Years later
Kayden’s POV
“Would you come over here Cassandra?” I called out to my daughter.
Yes we had named her after Cassie to make us always remember the role that Cassie had played for the Wolfdom.
“No dad, I am telling little brother a story.” she replied me and I shook my head.
“Mantha.” I called out and she walked out of the shower, she was still as beautiful as she had always been.
“Hey Cassandra, what are you doing?” She asked her.
“I am telling little brother a story.” she replied innocently.
“You are simply disturbing little brother’s sleep.” Mantha said to her.
“You can see he is crying already.” I pointed out.
“That is because the story is a touching story.” she replied.
“And what story is that?” I asked him.
“Uncle James told me the story when he came after little brother was born, he told me the story about a human and a wolf in love but their love eventually failed, the human died.” Cassandra replied and both I and Mantha needed no one to tell us what story she had been told.
It was clearly the story of James and Cassie.
“That is such a nice story but still you should not disturb little brother’s sleep, just wait till he grows up to be able to understand all you say perfectly. wait till then before you tell him your stories.”
“I can hardly wait.” she moved in glee.
“Carl is just a year old and you tell him stories almost every day, waking him up to tell stories, you want to become a story writer in the future?” I asked her and she nodded ecstatically.
“Sure, my little princess can be whatever she wants to be.” I said, scooping her into my hands while Mantha rocked Carl back to sleep.
“Yeah, Carl is asleep once more. Now, no more stories for today.” Mantha said to Cassandra and she nodded.
“I am going to tell the story to dad instead.” she replied and I groaned inwardly.
“I and your mum are really busy today, I do not think that we would be able to stay and listen to your story.”
“What are you going off to do again?” She grumbled as I placed her on her bed.
“Just some things, nothing for you to worry about.” I replied and kissed her forehead.
“Mantha, let’s go now.” I said to Mantha and she shook her head slightly.
She kissed Cassandra’s forehead and kissed Carl’s little hands before we ventured into our own room that we had linked to the room where the kids stayed with a door.
“Now, what did you say we are coming in here to do?” Mantha asked with a smirk.
“I think you know that already.” I said to her and pulled her body to me while she laughed.
Writer’s POV
James stood by the window, gazing out into absolutely nothing. He looked backwards and saw the pictures of Cassie that were on the table.
“I really miss you Cassie.” he mumbled.
For the past two years, he had completely stayed away from every lady. He could now understand why Alpha Kayden was like that back then because he was also like that now, he did not want to have any connections with any female.
We all journeyed through love and life but we got different results, for Alpha Kayden and Samantha, it was roses for them, happiness at the end but James me and Cassie, that was not the case, their own end was dark instead and the only light in James life at the moment was the Green Moss Pack that was doing exceedingly well.
Alpha Kayden was lucky to find someone like Samantha to bring him out of the gloom but he…. He found himself hopeless and in the gloom will he probably forever reside, wishing and hoping for the day that maybe death brings him back to his Cassie.
