Kayden’s POV
I walked amidst the men that were standing in the hall room. At the front were the other Alphas, they were gathered around the table.
I walked through them and took my seat in the middle of them all.
“Good day Alphas.”
“Good day Alpha Kayden.”
“A traitor is out and I know that you all have received the message from me already, Davis is to be apprehended wherever he is seen!”
“Alpha Kayden… Does the issue of Davis also have something to do with the issue of slavery we are trying to solve?”
“It very well has something to do with it. With my investigations, all leads are pointing to only one person and that is Davis, every other event happening is linked to Davis. I have every right to assert that he is the one behind all of this.” I replied.
“A search is already out and our men are trying to find Davis, your honorable self will be informed as soon as he is seen Alpha Kayden.” another Alpha said.
“Remember that this is for the safety of all the packs and we should work for that only! This mission is one which needs us all and I trust that you would take onto your responsibilities as Alphas very well.”
“We would Alpha Kayden.”
“Remember that if there is any attack made on any pack, I should be notified first. If I am not notified in minutes to the time of the attack, the Alpha would be considered irresponsible and negligent and I would not hesitate to strip such of his Alpha powers.” I added and stood up from where I was seated.
I walked away from the hall and the first person in sight was James, I could feel his pain and hurt that he was unable to find Cassie.
“Any news?” I asked him.
“None, the aircraft burnt to ashes.”
“That has to be one of Davis plot, there is definitely no one dead in the aircraft, he must have moved whoever is in out first.” I said to him.
“As you say Alpha Kayden but the body of a man was found there.”
“Really? No one useful for him then.”
“Davis has to take a car or bike from that spot, have the men comb that area.” I ordered.
“Yes Alpha.”
“And… I am sorry you could not get Cassie back.” I said to him and he nodded, forcing himself to let out a smile.
“It’s okay Alpha Kayden.” he mumbled and I patted his shoulder.
I walked away from him and walked into the room where Mantha was, she had insisted on going to the meeting with the Alphas too but I did not want her too for reserved reasons.
“I know you are just trying to make her safe but she is not feeling the same way.” Jay said to me.
“I know but I still have to keep her safe, somehow.” I replied Jay.
“Mantha.” I called her name but she did not give a response.
“Hey, babe C’mon.” I said to her, nudging her slightly.
“I am sorry for not letting you go in there with me.”
“Are you ashamed of me? You don’t want to show me to them that your mate was also once a slave?” Mantha asked me.
“That is not it Mantha.”
“Then what is it Kay?”
“I do not want them to make you feel traumatized. I know what you must have passed through when you were in slavery. If you attend the meeting with me, they would definitely want to ask you questions, I do not want anything that would make you remember those painful past.” I said to her sincerely and she snuggled close to me.
“Thanks for always thinking for me Kayden but you should know that I also do have to do some things. I do not feel comfortable staying in like this.” she said and I kissed her forehead.
“There is no issue then babe, when next I am out, you are out too.” I said to her.
“Promise?”
“Promise.” I affirmed and she hugged me tightly.
Cassie’s POV
Davis pushed me into the hands of a wicked looking guy, his face was jagged with so many scars, most of which looked fresh.
“Finally a human to deal with and not those wolves that keep getting out of hand!” He groaned as he pushed me forward.
I groaned and limped as she tried to walk fast enough not to be pulled by the guy by her side.
“Wh… Where are you taking me to?” I asked with a groan.
“You are not allowed to ask.” the man groaned and hit me in the face.
I let out a yell in pain as his garage hands connected with my cheek.
“You should keep quiet and do whatever you are asked to do if you want to live.” he said to me and my eyes caught something on him, it was a phone.
If I got that, that was like the only thing that I needed in the world to get away from this place. If I could get a call across to James or Mantha, I would be able to get out of this place.
Now, I only had to find a way to get the phone from this guy, trying to beg him to lend it to me would be the silliest thing of the century.
I looked forward and caught sight of some men walking towards us, they were pulling two violent men along with them.
An idea popped into my brain and I decided that was what I was going to do. I moved a bit to the side so that I could hit the guys that were walking towards our direction.
It worked and my body bumped into another body, the man I bumped into pushed me hard making me fall into the guy that was holding and leading me into wherever.
I quickly made use of that second of a little commotion and slipped the phone out of his pockets and hid it in my torn sleeve.
“Watch where you are going to!” The guy yelled at me but I said no word.
I was finally pushed into a small room, it was totally empty, in contrast to the other rooms that I had seen on my way here.
“You are the first human slave here, you can enjoy the place till boss brings more human to join you.” the guy said to me and walked out of the place.
I waited seconds more before letting the phone slide out of my sleeves, I did not care about my tied hands as I tried hard to ensure that I was able to operate the phone.
I was going to boot the phone but I decided to wait, after all the phone could be on general and then the ringing would alert everyone.
I waited until there was a scream of pain, one I knew was going to last long and took the moment to boot on the phone and it really made the booting sound.
I breathed in and out heavily as I thanked Goodness that I was able to think of that in advance.
I tried calling James immediately but he was not picking the calls up.
My heart was racing with each passing second, I dialed Samantha’s contact too but she also was not picking the call.
I had just one last option and that was to text a message to them.
With my shaky hands, I quickly typed a message that Davis was truly the one behind the issue of slavery and I was in his captivity at the moment. I sent the message to James and forwarded it to Mantha.
It was still sending when I heard footsteps.
“New inmate!!”
My heart skipped beats as I thought of where I was going to hide the phone in my hands.
Heck!
Am I really going to be caught?!
