Lauren’s POV
I drove my bike speedily to the address Davis had dropped for me, the breeze patted my hair, caressing it as softly as a mother caressed her little ones.
I stopped in front of the huge building, I was on my guard as I walked into the place. One thing I knew was that, whatever work Davis was involved in was definitely some sort of dirty jobs and now I might as well be getting involved in that dirty works, I needed to be extra careful.
“Know that you are going to be doing this on your own. This Davis of a guy is definitely good for nothing, he is nothing but a betrayal, he has betrayed Alpha Kayden and how are we supposed to be sure that he would not betray us also? ”
“That should not be one of your concerns, you have never been after my happiness, none of you has ever been, you all just want to be happy alone, you all are always forgetting about my existence and this time around, I am also going to do the same! I will no longer care about the existence of any other person or human! I will no longer care for anyone! I will not seek other’s happiness any more. I am going to make sure that everyone joins me in this everlasting tears!” I said through my teeth and then boldly walked in through the door.
In the middle of the room was a sleeping Samantha, she had been drugged and her body was tied to a chair.
I smirked and shook my head, this is the bitch that dared to steal Kayden away from me.
“She never stoke Kayden away from you Lauren, Kayden was just never yours from the start.” My wolf side said to me and I groaned.
“I understand that you can not support me but can you just keep quiet and stop supporting others!” I groaned at her and she heaved a huge sigh.
“Your decisions then.”
“Thank you.”
I replied and looked around the place.
“Like what you see?” I heard that familiar and masculine voice that belonged to Davis.
He approached me with a smile on his lips, he really had gentle features and looked like one who could not hurt a fly but from seeing him in other perspective, that view I had of him was starting to change, perhaps there was just no one who was so innocent, everyone was guilty of something.
“Yeah I sure do like the sight.”. I replied him with a smile too.
“And this is how I intend to bring down each and every one of your enemy for you until they are all down… That is of course, if you decide to join me.”
“Join you? I still do not understand you Davis, what do you mean by me joining you? Joining you in what?” I asked him and he raised Samantha’s head up.
“See her sleeping body, you can decide to do anything you want to her body right now, why? Because she is my slave.” he replied me and I furrowed my brows.
“How did she become your slave?”
“She has always been in my possession, this lowly creature has always been just another one of my possessions.” he replied and let Samantha’s head fall off his hands that were holding it in place.
“I still do not get you here.”
“What I do mean is that I run a slavery Enterprise.” he said to me and I gasped.
“Oh, you have not heard of the investigation going on from Alpha Kayden? The one about the slaves and slave masters?” He asked me and I shook my head in the negative.
“Wow and even some servants know about it, for how long are you going to be side lined?” He shook his head and I clenched my fists and my teeth.
“What servants?”
“James knows about it and even Cassie knows about it, I wonder how you were not informed, your family is not a really little family in the pack.”
“I am being treated like trash!” I let out in anger.
“You are right, I have been watching you for years and I feel nothing but pity for you Lauren. all you have been doing is to innocently love others but what have you been rewarded with? Nothing? You have been given nothing, your efforts have never for once being appreciated.”
“Go on Davis, what do you need me to do?”. I asked with determination in my voice, I was not going to something to play around with for the Alpha’s family, I am going to be something bigger.
“Anyways Kayden has been looking for who is behind this whole issue without knowing that I am the one behind everything. And I do not intend on letting him know about it.”
“How illegal is your trade?”
“I do all sort of things, you can call me brutal, you can call me cruel. Kayden is known to be coldest and even the cruelest in the pack when it comes to some situation but I, in the dark world of slavery, I can be more brutal than he is. I sell some of the slaves to humans who are interested in knowing more about wolves, I sell some of them to other packs who know about the business, they buy slaves to increase their army strength and for some, they just want wolves for their fantasies. It brings absolutely cool money, it is easy, it has always been so easy for me but not until this girl, this devil.” he seethed, pointing at Samantha while I just stared at him, completely surprised and shocked at what I was hearing from him, the man I so thought was upright.
“She escaped from my men and found her way to Kayden, she managed to stay very well I’m hiding but she can not be hidden away forever, especially not someone like me who is a hidden enemy.”
“You mean you took Samantha in as a slave initially?”
“That is what happened, my own father did so, he was the one who brought her in as a slave when he raised the Green Moss pack, those pack was going to turn up as the beta beside the Alpha of Alphas in the future, my father had to enslave them to join his already large numbers and Samantha that you see here, as I know is to be the next Alpha of the Green Moss pack.” he said to me.
“That was why her wolf capacity was better.” I mumbled.
“But you have her in your hands now, you can kill her and do whatever you want to do to her.” he replied me and my lips curled up in a smirk as I put away all of my wolf side yelling, she was yelling at me not to be part of this deal but I was going to be.
“Is this deal very lucrative?” I asked Davis.
“More lucrative than you can ever imagine.” he replied.
That then, would be an answer to prayers, I would be able to get rid of Samantha and yet get myself in this really lucrative business, my own family business had went down a whole lot under my administration and I knew that we badly needed money especially for my dad’s treatment too. I did not care who was going to die as a slave, I was going to get myself deep into this.
“So what do you say to this? Do you want me to leave your enemy in your hands and also a deal of a lifetime of you would choose to leave instead?” He asked me.
One thing was sure, if I chose to leave, I would not be leaving here alive, Davis would not let go of me after telling me all of this major things.
“I choose….”
“I accept your offer, I am totally in.”
