I could still not believe that Samantha had the mark of one of my slaves! Her being alive was definitely a threat to the survival of my trade and all my future missions, I had to get rid of her but the fact that she was Alpha Kayden’s mate would make that much more harder.
I groaned and breathed in and out heavily, I am so killing those useless masters I kept in charge. How in the world could Samantha have escaped all this while and nothing was told to me about it?
The fact that Alpha Kayden had said nothing about the slave trade was a confirmation that she had not told him yet perhaps she did not trust him enough yet but then I knew that I had to get rid of her as soon as possible to keep the secret as it has always been, safe.
My eyes surveyed the entire yard, landed on Alpha Kayden and Samantha who were kissing each other.
Alpha Kayden had his hand around her neck, raising her hair slightly and from that, I could very well see the mark yet again.
Again, I confirmed that it was definitely the mark of my slaves.
My eyes finally fell on a very miserable Lauren and a smirk curled up against my lips.
Who in the world was better in revenge than someone with a broken heart that felt betrayed and lost?
Lauren would do so well as a new tool to help me get rid of this new obstacle.
Lauren’s POV
I was very angry and pissed off. How could I have lost so easily to Samantha? How could I have lost without a good fight?
I went to the back of the yard, no one seemed to care about the loser anyways, especially when it happened that I did not only lose but lost so shamefully and it is all my wolf side fault.
“Why didn’t you help me?!” I yelled at her.
“You are not going to yell at me! I have told you multiple times that we have no chance with Kayden, we should go for our mate instead!” She yelled back at me making me get a little bit of headache.
“What silly mate? I am not going for that stupid guy the moon goddess gave to me! I will never go for him, I only want Kayden!”
“Kayden is never going to be ours, can’t you see?! You have always been around him and he still does not feel anything for you, take a look at Samantha, how many months has she spent with him? And he loves her so much, it is not about how long you have spent with him, it is about what he feels.” She replied to me.
“And what I feel does not matter? Do you know how I feel right now? Do you know the shame and embarrassment that you made me go through today, if only you had let us win! ”
“But Alpha Kayden’s father already told you that even if you win the contest, the position is still going to be given to Samantha, so why to bother?”
“If I had won… In front of all those people, there would be no other option than for me to be given the position to be the Luna and Kayden’s mate.” I replied to her and wiped bits of tears off my face.
“You are crying over him right now? You should be happy for Kayden, you should be glad that your best friend found the love of his life!”
“Not when that love of his life is not me! I am the only one who knows him well enough, the only one who deserves him well enough is me and not her!”
“I thought humans understood love more, you should know that love is not about getting what you deserve, most times love comes with someone who does not deserve it at all”
“You are not knowledgeable enough to lecture me about love!” I yelled at her.
“Yell at me all you want but I am glad I did what I did, I am glad that I allowed us to be beaten up.”
“And you do not feel ashamed losing the fight that way?!”
“I do not feel ashamed when I think and find out that I have done this for the good of myself, you, Alpha Kayden, Luna Sama…..”
“Don’t call her the Luna! She is not one yet!” I cut off my wolf side.
“She would soon be anyways, they both love each other, I can bet that they would be getting married in a few weeks to this moment.”
“No, that is not going to happen!” I shook my head violently.
“Kayden… You were not supposed to do this to me! You should never have done this to me!” I mumbled like I was going crazy.
Well, I sure was.
I turned to look at the podium and saw the two of them stare at each other all smiles, the sight infuriated me the more.
“When last for Kayden give me such sincere smiles?!”
“He smiled at you sincerely when we stood at where we belonged, the post of his friend and nothing more.” my wolf side replied.
“You sure do know how to defend others.” I gritted my teeth.
“I am defending no one, I am simply stating the truth,” she replied.
“Well, I do not want to be his best friend, is that so wrong? Is it so wrong to want to be more? Is it wrong that I want him to be more to me?” I asked.
“There are some certain feelings that would never go the right way, this one happens to be one of them.”
“Don’t lecture me.” I groaned and hit my forehead against the hard tiled floor.
I did not care if someone was looking at me, my dad was the only one who would have scolded me and thankfully, he had travelled on a three-month business trip or else he would have been the one to make sure that all my plans foiled.
“Even without your father, all plans still foils, can’t you see that it is nothing but a warning that he is not for you? Isn’t it so clear to you?”
“There is only one thing clear to me and that is that I do deserve Kayden more than that bastard standing at the podium with him.” I gritted my teeth and looked towards the podium again, the both of them were now kissing and the sight irritated me.
“This was the man I so much wanted to kiss me kissing another lady! I hate you, Samantha!” I groaned, hit the floor with my fist and bit my lips hard till I could taste the blood.
“Hey, Lauren.” I looked up and saw his face, his face had darkened.
“Take a look at the both of them… Do you love the sight?” He asked.
“I do not!”
“And who do you want to get rid of?” He asked with a smirk.
“Samantha!!”
“How about we do it? Together?” He asked, stretching out his hands and I stared at him for a moment.
I looked back at Samantha and Kayden who were walking down the podium lovingly and my heart hardened the more.
I could do anything to get rid of her.
“No! Lauren you have to refrain from this!” My wolf side warned but I ignored it totally.
I raised my hand up and took his hands.
“Deal!”
