CHAPTER SEVENTY-EIGHT.
Danielle had said she was going to get back at Jamal for rejecting and she meant every word she said. The thing was, she couldn’t hurt Jamal directly because of how powerful he was. She couldn’t touch Adele either, so her victim was going to be Shannelle and she was going to do something to her that was going to make her brother furious and humiliated.
She had invited Shannelle over to her flat for lunch and she accepted since it was a normal thing they did. She had a plan already set, she just needed to get some confirmation on some things from Shannelle to set the plan in motion.
“I have been to your brother’s office countless times to beg him. I even got thrown out one time by his guards. Shannelle, I have done all I can to make Jamal accept me, but he wouldn’t, I don’t know what else to do.”
“Oh my God Danielle I’m sorry about that. Even so, you can’t just quit. You are the only fit for my brother.” Shannelle insisted and Danielle scoffed.
“He doesn’t see that. He has already made his choice and there’s nothing you or me can do to change his mind.”
“But mother can do something.” Shannelle said, referring to Aliya and Danielle just laughed.
“No, mother can’t. Remember she even tried to pay Adele off, but the stupid girl tore the check. I just have to accept the fact that I have lost this battle. It’s over.”
“I’m so sorry Danielle. I really feel bad talking to you right now knowing that you are deeply hurt because of my brother.”
“It’s okay love.” She lied as she sipped more wine from her glass.
It was not okay. Not until she had gotten her revenge on the Dominick Family.
“Enough about me, Shannelle. You know, I feel like a really bad friend. We are always talking about my problems and never about yours. You are always the one to listen to my problems and not me listening to yours. That’s not a good thing.”
“It’s really no big deal.” Shannelle tried to brush it off, but Danielle was adamant.
“No, I am your friend and it is my responsibility to give you a listening ear too. I know you and Conor have been having issues, have you guys fixed things?”
Conor was Shannelle’s boyfriend.
“No, we broke up.”
“What? But why?” Danielle asked, aghast.
“Because I wouldn’t sleep with him.”
“But why wouldn’t you? He is your boyfriend.”
“I know and I want to, but I can’t. I’ve told you about this before, right? Some warning Jamal gave to me.” Shannelle breathed out heavily. “When I turned eighteen, he made me understand that he was watching my every move. He said I could date anyone I wanted, but I was forbidden from having sex with any of them.”
“So… your brother wants you to marry as a virgin.”
“Yeah.” She replied with a nod and Danielle let out a loud hysterical laughter as she threw her arms in the air. “I… I know it sounds funny, but it’s serious. He’s watching me closely, Danielle. The moment I go to a guy’s house or to meet him in a hotel room, he calls and reminds me of his warning. I can’t do anything fishy without him finding out.”
“Ah… I see.” Danielle exclaimed. “That’s pretty intense. “Then I guess you just have to wait until he introduces you to your husband. I’m sure he already has one for you.”
“I don’t know.”
“You’ll be fine.” She told her, trying hard to contain her laughter.
She found all what Shannelle just explained to her very absurd. She had known about her virginity pack with her brother. She just wanted her to confirm that it was still and not that she had gotten her confirmation, she was going to plan how to destroy Shannelle’s image in her brother’s eyes.
At least one of the Dominick siblings was going to feel her wrath.
**********************************************
Jamal was working in his office at the conglomerate when the fixed phone rang. He picked up the pphobevto anwrr the answer the call which he knew was coming from his secretary.
“Yes, Christine.”
“Mr. King, your sister is here to see you.” Christine announced.
“Let her in.” He ordered and dropped the phone. In less than no time, the door to his office pushed open and Shannelle quietly walked in.
“What do you want?” He asked coldly.
“To talk.”
“Can’t it wait till I get home?”
“You only have time for Adele when you get home.”
“Touché.” He paused and whispered to himself.
That was nothing, but the truth.
“You have five minutes.”
Shannelle rushed over to his table and took the seat opposite him.
“Are you going to stop giving me money if I leave the house?” She asked calmly, giving him a soft look and he creased his brows as he covered his laptop and put it away.
“Why do you ask?” He asked, leaning against the backrest, with his eyes not leaving his sister’s face.
“Well… I was thinking of leaving the house too.”
“I see… if you leave the house, I will stop giving you money, but if you stay, I’ll keep giving you your allowance.”
“But… why?”
“Because that’s how I want it to be. If you leave my house, it means I’m no longer responsible for you, you’ll have to take care of yourself out there, but if you stay, it means you are under my care and I have to give you money.” He explained and she scoffed. I’m annoyed.
“Are you trying to tell me that you no longer give mum and that money?”
“I do give them money.”
“Then why is my case going to be different?” She asked, annoyed.
“Because you are different. They are my parents, they brought me into this world, they took care of me, they raised me, I owe them big time, that’s why I have to give them money even if they are no longer under my roof, but you are just my sister. I owe you nothing!”
“Jamal, you are so cruel!” She lamented.
“I was just about to call my secretary to transfer your weekly allowance. If you want to leave, tell me now so I’ll ask her not to do so.”
“I’m not leaving!” She quickly denied and Jamal laughed.
“I thought as much.” He Said with a satisfied smirk.
He didn’t want her to leave his house. He hated her guts and the fact that she disliked his wife, but she was still his sister and he loved her very much.
He wanted her to be by his side until the day she married the man whom he had chosen for her.
“You always get what you want, don’t you?” She asked, annoyed.
“You made the decision yourself, Shannelle, don’t try to put this on me.”
“Yeah whatever!” She Said as she fumbled with her handbag. She wanted to leave his presence immediately.
“Shannelle I want you to swear to me that you are not sleeping with old men!” He blurted out and Shannelle looked up at him, shocked.
“Jesus Christ, Jamal! I haven’t even slept with any young man yet!” She denied and he smiled.
“Good. That means you still remember what we discussed a few years ago.”
“Do I have a choice when you have your men following me around? How many times have you stopped that from happening?”
“I will keep stopping until the right time comes.”
“Your presence makes me sick!” She said as she angrily rose from the chair and started walking away.
“I will ask my secretary to send you two times your normal allowance for being a good girl, dear baby sister.” He shouted after her and she swung her head over her shoulders to look at him.
“Fuck you!” Shannelle blasted and barged out of the office and Jamal just laughed.
She was frigging cute and he was going to everything in his power to make sure she had a very bright future.
