CHAPTER SEVENTY-FIVE.
The next morning was a work day, so when the alarm went off, both Adele woke up and began getting ready for work. In the past, Adele would wait for Jamal to finish using the bathroom before she started, but that morning, they used it to get her.
In less than no time, they were done dressing up for work.
“Adele.” Jamal called as he walked over to Adele who was packing her wallet and other necessary things into her handbag on the bed.
“Hmmm.” She answered as she looked up at him.
“What about our rings?”
“What about them?” She asked, furrowing her brows.
“Are we allowed to wear them?”
“Well, that will spark questions at work which I don’t want to answer yet, same for you. Jamal, I would love for us to lay low for now. Please.” She pleaded and he nodded in agreement, even though he wasn’t fine with the suggestion.
He just wanted to be considerate as well because when he had asked her not to spread a word about their marriage, she had accepted with no hesitation.
“Alright then, if you say so. If you are done, let’s go down for breakfast.”
“Sure.” She carried her handbag and followed him downstairs.
At the dinning, the rest of the family were already seated and had begun eating and Aliya’s mood changed immediately the moment she saw Adele.
“Good morning everyone.” Adele greeted as she went over to grandma and kissed her cheek.
“Good morning Adele, how was your night?” Grandma asked sweetly and Adele blushed hard as she took her seat.
Her night had been magical. Her and Jamal fucked hard and her pussy was still a bit sore at that moment.
“It was great, thank you.” She simply answered and Jamal chuckled, causing her to blush hard.
She took Jamal’s plate and served his meal before serving hers.
“Jamal, I have a question.”
“Go ahead grandma, I’m listening.” Said Jamal, as he began eating his food.
“So, now that you two are together again and you have tackled all the problems you were facing. There’s no reason for you hide Adele as your wife anymore, right?” Grandma asked and he nodded his head and swallowed the food in his mouth. He then drank some water and looked up at his grandmother.
“You are correct.”
“When do you plan on showing her to the world, then?”
“Ma!” Aliya scolded in as she angrily slammed her cutleries on the table, casting grandma a deadly look.
Jamal looked at his mother and smiled, before averting his gaze to his grandmother who was eager waiting for his response.
“It depends on my wife. We will make the announcement anytime she wishes.”
“Oh … that’s cute. So Adele, when would you want that to be done?” Grandma averted the question to Adele who she smiled uncomfortably and drank some water before replying.
“Well, I only recently joined the conglomerate and I’m not used to most of the employees yet. I would love to be shown to the world as Jamal’s wife when I get more acquainted with the employees and with the place as a whole.”
“Hmmm …” Grandma hummed, nodding her head. “I see. That’s still okay. But don’t take too long okay. The sooner people know about you, the better.”
“Yes grandma, I won’t.”
“That’s my girl.”
Aliya was about to explode on her seat. She stared daggers at Adele as she ate her food, wishing she could snap her neck with her looks. She hated Adele to her bones and was greatly enraged by the fact that she had been brought to the house.
“Adele, I assigned you a driver. He will take you to work every morning and I will drive you back home except something comes and I have to stay at the office or leave the country, is that alright?” He asked and Adele just smiled, meaning it was alright.
At first, he never asked her opinion about anything. He just did what he felt was right for her and forced her to accept it.
It felt really nice to have him asked for her opinion about something that concerned her.
“Cool.”
Aliya couldn’t take it anymore. She pulled her seat backwards and rose to her feet.
“I can’t stand all this nonsense!” She said angrily and walked out of the dinning.
“Aliya! You haven’t even touched the meal you served.” Mr. Dominick called out after her.
“Oh please, Dominick, leave her be. She’ll eat when the hunger gets unbearable. Besides, it’s not like she’s going to go anywhere, she’ll be home all day with all the food at home.” Grandma blasted and Mr. Dominick gave a stern look. He quickly put down his cutleries and went after his wife.
“You are not serious! You can’t be serious.” That was Shannelle.
“Oh you shut your mouth, you tall, spoiled brat. If you have nothing relevant to say, follow your parents and go whine to them.” Grandma fired at Shannelle and barged out of the dinning as well.
Adele and Jamal couldn’t help but giggle at the looks on their faces as they left.
“Go on, eat your food and forget about those drama queens.” Grandma Devon urged and they both rode on with their meals.
With Grandma Devon on their side, they were definitely going to win every fight their parents started with them.
***********************************************
After breakfast, Jamal and Adele left for work in two different cars, the reason being they couldn’t arrive together and be seen by the employees in the company. That would cause a lot of commotion and spark up a rumour. Something they didn’t want.
When Jamal arrived, he walked into the lobby and everyone bowed and greeted him as he walked by with his guards. He took his special elevator, which led him to his floor.
He walked over to his office and greeted his secretary on his way.
“Mr. King.” The woman called back and he turned to look at her.
“Yes Christine, any problem?”
“There’s… there’s someone in your office. I… tried to tell her to leave but she…”
Jamal immediately knew who the person was. A frown formed on his face as walked over to the door of his office and pushed it open. Behold, there was Danielle, seated comfortably in his office, twirling around with a wide smile plastered on her face.
Letting out a heavy sigh, he stepped into the office and closed the door behind him.
“Danielle.” He called as he took calm, calculated steps over to the table.
“Jamal.” Danielle responded and rose to her feet.
“Why are you here?” Asked Jamal, giving her a deadly look.
“Please Jamal, don’t waste your poker face on me, you know it doesn’t scare me.” She said nonchalantly and Jamal wished in his heart that he could hit her just one time so she would understand that he is serious about not wanting to be with her.
Just one smack.
A very heavy one.
“State your mission and be gone, else I’ll call security and they’ll embarrass you again by dragging you all the way to the lobby.”
“Jamal, do I look like I care?” She asked calmly. “Do… do…” she stuttered with a shaky voice. “Do I look like I give a fuck if your guards drag me all the way to the lobby again? I have absolutely no shame right now. I have already lost my dignity by coming here time and again to beg to accept me. I have no shame!” The last part came out a whisper.
The tears shimmering in her eyes spilled down and Jamal just shook her head.
“Shannelle told me you took Adele back to the mansion and threatened to throw out anyone who gave a hard time.”
“Yeah and I even forgot to mention the fact that you are no longer welcome there. I will let them know when I get home today. If you even pass by my gate, Danielle, I will file a restraining order against you.”
“Jamal, why are you so cruel?” She asked in tears. “Why are you so heartless?”
“I learned from the best, Danielle. From you and my father.”
“I didn’t teach you heartlessness !”
“Oh yes you did. You did teach me heartlessness. Making me maltreat my wife is heartlessness. Making me leave her at home at night almost all the time when she is heavily pregnant is heartlessness, making me kill my own child in her womb is heartlessness. I learned all that from you!”
“But Jamal…”
“What? What do you wanna say? What do you have to say, Danielle?”
“I love you Jamal and I swear I can be a better wife for you.”
“I don’t need a better wife, all I need is Adele.” He told her clearly and she chuckled in tears.
“I swear to God Jamal, you will regret this. For shattering my heart into pieces, you will pay dearly. Mark my words!” She threatened with a stern voice, as she fiercely wiped her tears away before marching out of his office.
Jamal walked over to his office chair and slumped on it, closing his eyes.
Danielle was a thorn in his flesh.
“Mr. King!” The voice of his secretary came through and snapped his eyes open to look at her. He leaned towards the table and placed hands on it, intertwined his fingers and gave his secretary a hard glare.
“If I ever see her in here or anywhere around this building, you are fired. Make sure this news reaches every other security guard.”
“Yes sir!” The mortified woman replied and rushed out of the office to spread the hot warning.
Jamal leaned on the back rest and closed his eyes as he thought of how to deal with Danielle.
