CHAPTER SEVENTY-ONE.
Adele had been trying Jamal’s line all day to no avail. No response came. She had even tried the PA’s number, but it didn’t go through as well.
She was sad that Jamal had not bothered to call her the entire day.
“Adele.” Kelly called and Adele turned to look at her. It was five pm and they were all preparing to go home.
“Yes Kelly.”
“Here.” Said Kelly, extending a decorated box to her. “It’s for you.”
“What is it?”
“Just some chocolates to cheer you up. I noticed you’ve been very edgy all day, same as yesterday. I hope you feel better after eating them.” Said Kelly and before she knew it, Adele crashed into her arms.
“Thank you very much, Kelly. Thank you for caring about me even though I’m a brat to you most of the time.”
“It’s okay, I understand. People go through hard times. I hope you find a solution to your problems.”
“I hope so too, thanks again.”
“You are welcome.” Said Kelly with a sweet smile as she left the office. Adele followed closely and headed straight to the parking lot.
She was still thinking about Jamal and the possible reason why he had not tried to call her since the previous day.
She was worried and she wondered if she had made the right decision by giving him a second chance.
What if she accepted and he went back to default? That was something her poor heart would not be able to bear.
“Mrs. King.” She heard a voice call and what shocked her was not the fact that someone had called, it was the name the person used to address her.
Mrs. King.
Only Jamal’s close guards and drivers knew about their relationship. She quickly turned around and saw Sean standing by a car in that parking lot.
“Sean!” She called as she broke into a smile.
“Mr. King said to bring you to him.”
“Really? Where is he?” She questioned impatiently.
“He said not to tell, please come with me.” He said with a smile as he opened the back door of the benz for her to get in and she did, excitedly.
Once she was strapped in, Sean got into the car and drove away.
Adele was all smiles as they drove to where she did not know. All she wanted was to meet Jamal, to hug him and maybe, kiss him.
After several minutes, she looked around, and was surprised that Sean had taken her to the airport.
When they arrived, he opened the door for her to step out and there were like five other guards waiting to receive her. She was escorted into the lobby and as she passed with the guards, people made way for them. She was shocked when she saw Sean showing her passport to the guard in charge of control and he let them in.
She was then taken to a runway where she saw a Private jet with the name “Jamla King” written boldly on it and she broke into a wide smile.
Her husband owned a private jet.
Just wow!
She didn’t say anything, she just followed Sean into the beautiful jet where she was welcomed by an air hostess. Once she was seated comfortably, she looked around and noticed it was just her and Sean in that section of the jet.
“Sean, please can you tell me where we are headed?” She asked with her best puppy eyes and Sean just smiled.
“I think only Mr. King has the right to tell you that.” He told her with a smile and just then, she heard a familiar voice call her name.
“Adele!” She instantly turned behind to look only to see her husband standing tall and smiling at her.
“Jamal!” She called almost in tears as she rose from her seat and flew over to him. Jamal caught her in his arms and hugged her tight, making sure to inhale her intoxicating perfume which he missed so much.
“My God Jamal, you scared me!”
“I’m sorry. I had some work to do and after that, I was busy preparing a surprise for you.” He told her and they both took the nearby seats.
“I was so worried and sad. I miss you.” She pouted and Jamal chuckled.
“You did?”
“Yeah. A lot has happened Jamal.”
“Did my mum and Danielle attack you again.”
“Not like, physical attack, but they confronted me again. However, before I tell you how it went, I want you to know something.”
“What’s that?” Jamal asked, looking at her with searching eyes.
“Jamal…” she called with a shaky voice, tears streaming down her cheeks.
“Jamal, I love you very much. I love with all my heart and … and… I have forgiven you for everything you did to me in the past. Right now, I want us to forget everything and move forward. I want to be your wife again, Jamal. I want be with you for the rest of my life!” She confessed and Jamal was speechless.
The tears in his eyes broke loose and he pulled Adele into his arms and sobbed hard.
His dream had finally come true.
He was finally going to be with his wife again.
“Thank you very much Adele. You have idea how happy I am right now.” Jamal cried.
“But…” said Adele as she pulled herself from his hug. “You and I know I have reproductive issues. When you want children…”
“Adele…” Jamla instantly cut her off. “That’s not what I’m thinking right now. The most important thing is that I’ve got you back in my life. Having children will come later. We will sort that out later.”
“I don’t want later! I want now, Jamal. I want to have a child for you. I want to carry your children again, ” she cried.
“Alright then, when we return home, we’ll see some specialist and they’ll tell us where we have to start. But for now, please let’s just enjoy this sweet moment. Please.” He pleaded and Adele mumbled an inaudible apology as she snuggled into his arms.
Jamal calmly attached her seatbelts and stroked her hair in silence as the plane took off.
That was the happiest news he had heard that entire year.
He had finally won his wife over again. That was his biggest achievement of the year!
