{Ann’s Part Of The Story}
Calvin POV
She broke the kiss and I chuckled…
“What’s the kiss for? ” I grin and put her lips together.
“What changed your mind? ” She asked and I shook my head.
“Come on, you can’t just decide to change your mind after taking a nap. ” She rolled her eyes childishly.
“I’m sorry for making you cry, I’m just trying to prevent anything that will make me get involved with the police. ” I apologize in a low voice.
“It’s fine… I love the idea of us getting Ann adopted in the legal way. ” She replied and I nodded.
“Can you take a picture of Ann? ” I asked and she nodded, she sped up on her feet.
“Ann cried this morning —”
“What?! ” She screams, staring at me.
“She said she’s scared of my voice. ” I replied and she breathed in.
“She saw how furious you were towards me because of her. She thinks she’s the reason for our fight that day but I told her it’s not.. ” She replied and I smiled.
“She said she doesn’t like it when we argue. She actually begged me not to argue with you. ” I uttered and Zoey smiled… But her eyes were teary already.
“She just wants to be cool, she’s not a threat. ” She stuttered and I nodded..
“Get a picture of her. The rest will be done later. ” I uttered and she smiled walking out of our room to Ann’s room.
I went inside the bathroom to have a quick shower.
Zoey’s POV..
My heart almost fell out of its real position when I heard Ann cry. I wasn’t fast with my mind accusing Calvin. I was just wondering why she would cry. I stopped in front of her door and I took in a cool breath. I knock at the door
“It’s mommy… ” I uttered and she opened it quickly.
“Mommy… ” She screams, her small hands wrapping around laps. I crouched to carry her to the waist. Quietly shut the door behind me and sat down on her bed.
“Did you take a nap when I was away? ” I asked and she nodded.
“The bed is soft, I slept soundly. ” She uttered and smiled out her dimples. Gosh, they are deep.
“Hahahaha… It’s going to be soft forever. ” I uttered and she took my hand into hers.
“Will you bring Crystal here too? ” She asked and I knitted my forehead.
“Crystal? Who is Crystal? ” I asked and she looked away.
“She’s with me before I ran away–”
“Ran away from where?. ” I asked curiously and she scratched her head.
“The agency? ” She mumbled and heart skipped a thousand beats. Could it be that Ann is a spy, just like what Calvin predicted. I looked at her for seconds, and she was kidding right now.
“What agency? ” I stammer while waiting for her response.
“I don’t know about it,,, Crystal said we will be fine there but I saw a girl and a man, when I went to the toilet at night. I rushed to get Crystal, I told her I don’t like the place but she got angry with me, and said if I like the streets we live from place to place, I should go back there… ” She paused and I looked speechless.
“I know she didn’t mean those words. But I was scared, the men flogged the girl and blood was dripping out of this place… She touched her private part to indicate where she was referring to. ” I gasped loudly. This is too much to see at such a young age.
“Come here.. ” I mumbled with my hand wide apart, to welcome her in my embrace. She walks into my arms slowly, I guess she’s trying to make her head forget those creepy memories. Her words made me remember how I was wrapped, even though I couldn’t remember what really happened but the touch suddenly came to my head.
Especially, when Calvin and I are having sexual intercourse. I almost got traumatized but he was able to get me out of it. I feel for the girl that was raped and for the Ann. She witnessed every moment of the girl’s cries.
I hugged her to my chest and planted a kiss on her head and she sighed.. I laughed after she sighed.
“What was that? ” I asked and she looked at me.
“What? ” She asked, looking confused. I decided to mimic the way she sighs. She laughed at me and I chuckled.
“Come, let’s take a picture of you? ” I uttered and she nodded. She shined her teeth at the camera and I took one. She suggested I take one with her and I did.
“Did you tell Crystal about what you saw that day. ” I asked since this quick question came to my head.
“No, I didn’t. ” I reply and I nod my head. Come, let’s freshen up, it will be night soon. ” I added and she jumped to her feet.
“Why are you so happy? ” I ask, staring at how she rushes to take off her clothes.
“I’m staying with you… The woman from the streets said I should be grateful to anyone that finally accepts a reech like me. ” She uttered and I became furious.
“Reech?! ” I exclaimed and she nodded…
“Do you still know her place? ” I asked and she looked at me.
“Yes. Are you going to fight her? ” She asked. I roll my eyes and scoff.
“No. I won’t do that physically but I will do that with money. ”
“That’s going to be mean of you. She gave me clothes, just left her, I’m fine this way. Ann uttered, and had to look at her.
“I’m freezing… ” She uttered, faking a cold freezing body… I stood up and got her inside the bathroom.
“Why don’t you let the maids bathe me?? ”
“Promise myself to bathe my children till they are fully grown. ”
“That’s nice… ” She giggled happily.
