She tried to steady herself not to fall, hands clenched fists, nails set into the flesh, she could not feel the pain.
“Ina, let’s go.” Vinson said gently, leaning down to Ina.
“But there’s no coffee yet.” Ina was a little resentful.
“Go somewhere else, the smell here is disgusting.” Vinson said this deliberately, not willing to admit that he was trying to relieve Leanne.
“Yeah.” Ina took Vinson’s arm and gloated as she watched Leanne’s deathly pale face with unbridled pleasure.
After the two men left, Leanne fell helplessly onto the couch, her palms bleeding from her own pinch.
“Miss, are you all right.” The waiter saw her sitting for a long time and spoke with concern.
“Ah! It’s okay.” Leanne laughed bitterly and returned to her senses.
She took out her cell phone and called Owen to ask for leave and returned home lost in thought.
Miller jumped when he saw the injury on her hand, “What’s wrong with it?”
When Leanne saw Miller, she could no longer control herself and threw herself into his arms and cried. Daniel was on the sidelines and was very good at not speaking.
After a long time, Leanne got tired of crying and lifted her head from Miller’s arms.
“Mom, don’t be sad.” Daniel thoughtfully handed over tissues.
“She doesn’t need tissues, she wipes it all off on me.” Miller was full of disgust.
Leanne was so warmed by them both that she stopped crying and pulled Tiny Ann into her arms.
“This is my new shirt, little Ann you pay for it.” Miller looked disgustedly at the snot and tears all over the shirt and shouted in exasperation.
Leanne looked at her masterpiece and spat out her tongue with some embarrassment. Little Ann made a face at her: “Mommy crybaby.”
“It’s good to have you guys.” Leanne exclaimed from the bottom of her heart.
Miller and Daniel stayed by Leanne’s bedside until she fell asleep, and Miller took the medical kit and bandaged her hand.
Day 2.
Since it was the weekend and Leanne didn’t have to work, Miller didn’t call her.
Leanne got up late, Miller had already sent Little Anne to school, Leanne was shocked by the woman in the mirror with swollen eyes like a rabbit.
She slapped her face hard and said to herself, “You’re Leanne, why did you make such a mess of yourself?” The thought of Vinson brought another twinge of pain to her heart.
After breakfast, Leanne clumsily stuffed the flash drive Jim had given her into her computer with hands that were bandaged like Tinker Bell.
What she saw next made her suck back a breath of air.
It was David’s investigation of Mogin after he found out that Mogin was transferring the company’s assets. It clearly recorded when and how much property Mogin had transferred, and Leanne’s heart sank.
She dragged her fingers across the keyboard and found that David had actually also investigated Owen and Lucy’s plan to try to harm Mo Li’an.
Leanne just felt her heart cut like a knife and closed her computer. It seems that Dad already knew the whole story back then, no wonder he was against her being with Owen, and how sad he should be now, knowing that his daughter was in danger but unable to stop it, only to watch her being killed.
Leanne thought of her father on the island, teary-eyed, unable to calm down for a long time, blaming herself for being too stupid back then.
Monday.
Leanne rededicated herself to a demanding job to dilute her inner love for Vinson.
After work, Owen, as always, came over to offer his hospitality, to invite Leanne to dinner, with Leanne’s design, Mo’s stock has risen back, Owen recently spring, very pleased, really with Leanne is the same as a big help ah, he is more sure that he wants to pursue Leanne.
Leanne walked out of the office door with him, one after the other, a precious blue Rolls Royce parked at the bottom of Mo’s building, and a man stepped out of the car holding a bouquet of roses.
Leanne looked at the visitor: “Carl?”
“Leigh Leanne, I’ve heard a lot about you, I didn’t expect you to know me.” Carl took off his sunglasses, a flattered face.
Leanne was convinced by his pompous acting skills, she didn’t feel the slightest bit good about the person who caused her injury and just wanted to leave him quickly: “Please move aside, I have things to do!”
“What’s up? Going to dinner with that man behind you?” Carl was all smiles and didn’t move half a step.
“Carl, this seems to be Mo’s, Leanne is an employee of our business, I hope you put some respect.” Owen was full of wariness.
Carl is full of care and smiles, a cynical dude look.
He slipped the flowers into Leanne’s hands, whistled at her and leaned close to her ear, “Leigh Leanne, I’ll be back.”
Leanne felt like maggots were arching over the skin behind her ears and shivered several times in quick succession.
Owen pulled Leanne behind himself and looked at Carl with a hostile face, “Please get the hell out of Mo’s.”
Carl put on his sunglasses and got back into the car, looking at Leanne like a tiger staring at its prey.
Leanne still had some heart palpitations until she got to the restaurant.
“Leanne, how do you know him?” Owen asked tentatively.
“He’s Vinson’s brother, is it weird that I know him?” Leanne was a little impatient.
“No no.” Owen smiled brightly.
“Leanne, why don’t you leave Vinson and come to me, and I promise to treat you right.” Owen took the opportunity to surface his feelings.
Leanne sneered, that’s how he cheated Mo Li An back then, but still put on a difficult face, “Owen, can you give me some time to calm down?”
“Well, I’ll be waiting for you.” Owen was affectionate.
Leanne saw Carl almost every day after that. It was like he was stalking her, and he came to a chance encounter every day, and gave her some perfume and designer bags, things that she naturally threw away, and Leanne just felt annoyed.
In the evening after work, Leanne drove home, went to the garage to park, the car just parked, Leanne opened the seat belt intended to get out of the car, Carl did not know from which corner out, sat on the passenger side, locked the car door.
“Carl, what do you want?” Leanne looked at Carl who suddenly burrowed out, full of wariness.
“Leigh Leanne, I have been chasing you for so long, you have been ignoring people, people are very sad.” Carl pretended to be aggrieved.
“Don’t you dream, I’m not going to like you.” Leanne couldn’t hide the disgust in her eyes.
Seeing that her disgust for herself had reached an unconcealed level, Carl’s eyes took on a sinister look and hung a cruel smile: “I really didn’t expect that you would hate me so much?”
The body also pressed towards Leanne, Leanne’s eyes brought disgust, Carl seems to be satisfied with her expression, closer to the.
