>Three months later:
(Renata Pellegrini)
I watch Filippo drive into the garage from the balcony of my bedroom; I’ve been married to him for three months now, and it’s like a fairy tale.
Filippo still has his position in the mafia, but now, he has moved his company’s headquarters here to Italy, and now he works in weapons manufacturing and leaves the training of the soldiers to his right-hand man, Sophie’s husband.
“I’m home, ragazza,” Filippo enters the room and kisses me. “Hello to you too, figlio.” He smooches and kisses my belly.
She is now very big, I am already twenty four weeks pregnant, it’s a boy, we chose the name: Vittorio. He sucks a lot, and every single day when his father comes home from work, he seems to jump for joy inside my belly.
“Look what I brought him,” Filippo goes to the bedroom door and comes back holding a huge pizza box.
“Is it cheese with chocolate and pepper?” I ask, feeling my mouth salivate.
Even though we are near the end of the pregnancy, I still have crazy cravings for strange foods. I hate eating pepper, but now…
“Yes, in the strange way you asked, mia ragazza.”
I take the box from Filippo’s hand and sit down on the bed, start eating the medium pizza and as I chew the first piece, I groan with pleasure as I enjoy this crap! Damn, I would never eat that if it wasn’t for the pregnancy!
I finish eating all the pieces and lick my fingers, Filippo comes out of the bathroom wrapped only in a towel around his waist, my cell phone starts ringing on top of the nightstand, Filippo picks it up and closes his face as he looks at who is calling me, I can already guess: it is Caio, I can’t understand why he is so jealous of him.
“Hi, Caio.” I’ll take the call.
“Rê, I’m sorry to call you like this.” He says in a strange voice, he is panting, I start to feel a bad feeling.
“Caio, what happened?” I ask worriedly.
“Amanda, they took Amanda!”
“Who took it?” I ask, getting out of bed.
“Her father gave her to her as payment… I tried to stop them from taking her…, but I was badly beaten and passed out. I just woke up now, I looked for her around the neighborhood, but found no sign.”
Without realizing it, I start to cry, everything I feared the most has happened, that old bastard…
“What is it, ragazza?” Filippo approaches me with a worried look on his face.
“They took Amanda away,” I say and start to cry even more. “Find her Filippo, please, find her, find her, bring her back, Filippo, please.” I beg him.
“I’ll manage.” He says, picks up his cell phone and leaves the room. I touch the floor and continue to cry.
“Lord, please protect my friend, she is an amazing person” – I pray for her in thoughts.
