Natasha’s POV
The aunt said, “Emily is still crying in the living room. Most of our servants have been sent out to look for her, but there is no news at all. Miss… What should we do?”
“Keep looking for her. By the way, keep Emily here. Don’t let her go.”
I hung up the phone.
I looked at Ellison and said, “I have something urgent to deal with at home. I’ll ask Edward to send you home.”
Ellison waved her hand and said, “no, No. I can go home myself.”
I nodded! On the way home, I called Jack.
At the other end of the phone, there was a burst of noise. Jack was also having a party.
I told him what happened to Edmend. I hope that Jack can inform me in time if he can find Edmend on his territory.
Jack agreed readily.
But… There was a price to pay for asking him for help.
Jack requested that after finding Edmend, I would go to the cinema with him.
It’s not a big deal. I will accept it immediately.
When I got home, Bran was sitting in the living room. He was at a loss when he saw Emily crying.
“Sister, you’re finally back. My cousin let my brother go, but she cried herself. She cried so hard that she almost fainted. It’s too frightening.”
I patted his hand and tried to make my voice sound gentle, “Bran, go to find your parents and stay with them at the seaside villa tonight. Remember to bring more bodyguards with you.”
“What?”
Bran looked at him and asked in confusion, “why don’t we just leave her alone and let her cry?”
“It’s none of my business. You can leave now.”
“Sister…” “listen to me. Go ahead.”
I don’t want my brother to see Emily show off her acting skills here.
Bran nodded and left.
When he arrived at the door, he happened to meet Winson’s car.
After he got off the car, he asked what had happened at home and Bran told him the truth.
He knew that Emily had let go of Edmend.
Winson’s face turned colder.
He patted him on the shoulder and said, “Bran, listen to your sister. You can leave now. I’ll go in and have a look.”
Bran nodded and got in the car.
In the living room, I walked up to Emily.
Emily stood up, tears welling up in her eyes. She said sadly, “Natasha…”
“Who told you to let Edmend go?”
Emily sobbed, “I’ve heard from the aunts that you locked up Edmend. I know you have the final say in this house.
But Natasha, it’s not right for you to imprison Edmend without permission. He is also a person. You can’t do this to him. ”
I slapped Emily across the face.
At this moment, Winson came in from the vestibule and saw what happened
Emily fell on the sofa and saw Winson walking in.
She raised her hand and covered her face with her hand. Tears were welling up in her eyes. She looked at me with grievance and asked, “Natasha, why did you hit me?”
I grabbed her collar and said, “it’s none of your business, Emily?
Emily cried, “no, it’s not like that. Natasha, Edmend was locked in that narrow and wet room. It’s so pitiful. When I found him, he asked me to save him. I really didn’t have the heart to…”
“You are so kind, aren’t you?”
I pulled Emily up and said, “since you are so kind, tell me. If something goes wrong with Edmend, will you be responsible for it?
If he gambles again, will you pay his gambling debts? ”
Emily shook her head and said, “Edmend promised me that he wouldn’t gamble anymore. Natasha, trust him. Edmend is a man of his word. He will keep his word.”
“What if he can’t?
Are you responsible for it? ”
When I questioned Emily, my heart was filled with anger.
Emily saw that she was beaten, but Winson just stood at the door indifferently.
Finally, she couldn’t hold her anger anymore. With red eyes, she looked at Winson, who was standing at the door, and cried, “Winson… Winson, please help me. Please help me persuade Natasha and let her give Edmend a chance.”
Winson walked up to me and said gently, “I’m worried about you. So I come and have a look.”
“I don’t need it,” replied Emily with a disdainful look. “Tell me, how are you going to deal with it?”
“I…” Emily didn’t say a word. She just choked with sobs.
I pulled her collar and pulled her in front of me. “What’s the use of crying?
Say something! ”
Emily looked devastated. “Natasha, don’t push me anymore. I’ll take the responsibility.
“Now I’m responsible for letting go of Edmend. I’ll pay with my life. Is that enough? ”
As she spoke, she lowered her head and hit her head hard against the corner of the tea table.
Blood oozed from her forehead in an instant, and her body became soft. She lay on the ground, looking as if she was about to faint.
It was too fast.
Winson stepped forward and pulled me to his side. Covering my eyes, he said to the aunt behind him, “send her to the hospital immediately.”
I shook off Winson’s hand and looked down at Emily, who was dying.
There was a touch of coldness.
Emily was quite different from Wendy.
Wendy got benefits by setting others up.
Emily, on the other hand, was willing to spend a lot of money on herself to prove her ‘kindness’ by abusing herself.
The maid aunt called several people over. They hurriedly helped Emily up and sent her out.
Winson turned around and asked worriedly, “Natasha, are you okay?”
I pushed Winson’s hand away and said coldly, “Winson.”
“I’m fine. You can go now.”
I pointed to the door.
Winson didn’t move but asked, “is there any news about Edmend?”
Speaking of Edmend, I felt annoyed.
If Edmend really wanted to quit gambling, he wouldn’t run away.
If he left now, it meant… He didn’t want to quit at all!
Winson added, “I’ll arrange for someone to look for him. But since he has escaped here, he won’t be found easily by us. Edmend… I’m afraid he will gamble again.”
