Seeing that she didn’t say anything, Sidney’s eyes went dim.
“If he really loved you, he wouldn’t have let so many years lapse between you, did you ever think of that?”
Sidney did not expect that Andre would have a falling out with Nellie for so many years.
Nellie was silent.
Now those pasts don’t matter to her at all. After all, she had let it go.
Getting up, she said, “If you don’t have anything important to do, I will leave you alone.”
Turning around, she was about to head for the kitchen.
However, just two steps away, Sidney said, “Even if you give him up, you shouldn’t get entangled with the Brooks family.”
Nellie paused in her track, no turning back.
Yet that back, at the moment, unconsciously exuded a chill.
She narrowed her eyes menacingly, “What are you trying to say?”
“You’ve always been a sensible woman, and such a thing should not have been done by you.”
“Heh.” Nellie laughed out coldly.
What exactly gives these people courage?
They are not related, yet these people always manage to tell her what to do, saying she did wrong.
“How complicated is the Brooks family, have you looked into it?”
“Who I like is Barney, not his family.”
Nellie had completely lost her patience, and went straight to the kitchen.
Sidney watched her back as she busied herself in the kitchen and frowned, clearly sensing a change in her.
She used to always be gentle and she would listen to anything anyone said.
But now…
The doorbell rang, and Nellie went about her business as if she hadn’t heard it.
Sidney went over to open the door, and the moment he open it, an icy, murderous aura came over him.
A moment of four eyes on each other.
Danger pervaded the eyes of both men.
Nellie was in the kitchen, putting the porridge into a thermos, not wanting to dwell on it with Sidney and wanting to leave straight away.
Turning to come out, however, she saw two men, one standing outside the door and one inside, with hostility parting their faces from each other.
The scene was, by all accounts, a bit ominous.
Andre stared at Sidney and then at Nellie, his gaze seemed as if it wanted to tear her apart.
“Nellie, I really underestimated you.”
Nellie was silent as she walked behind Sidney and said in a deep tone, “Please make way.”
Seeing that Sidney was not moving, Nellie squeezed out, and Sidney was pushed to the side.
Yet standing under the door frame, she was again blocked by Andre.
Nellie raised her eyes, “A good dog does not stand in the way.”
Andre’s hostile aura could not stop emanating from his body.
When Nellie saw that he didn’t make the way, she had a dark face and pushed Andre away, and then left without looking back.
The two men, who had been raging against each other, now looked at each other, both of them turning over in their hearts.
After a long time, Sidney snorted, “It seems that she has really abandoned you.”
Andre’s face darkened, “I am at least abandoned, unlike some people who have never had her.”
Sidney’s face sank.
He never knew what was in Nellie’s mind.
You think you can master her? That would be a big mistake. She is never someone you can master at will.
He had always known what Andre had been like to her all these years, and he had sought her out more than once, but this woman was obsessive to Andre.
He thought she was going to be obsessive to Andre forever.
But it changed.
“She hired Blake to engage in her divorce case against you, and you can’t continue to have her.” Sidney said defiantly.
Andre, “That’s better than you stalking and not being wanted.”
“Don’t worry, you’ll soon be the same person as me.”
The two men, now like children, began to fight constantly, and Troy, who was standing behind them, listened with a cold sweat on his forehead.
And Nellie had long since left, not putting them in his sights at all.
Both of them are nothing to Nellie now, yet these two are still constantly fighting over Nellie.
…
When Nellie arrived at the hospital, Barney had not yet come out of the operating theatre, and the Brooks family members waiting outside the operating theatre all looked gloomy.
Miriam stepped forward and almost cried out when she looked at the thermos bucket Nellie was carrying.
“What’s wrong?” Nellie sensed that something was wrong and asked softly.
Miriam’s eyes were red and she couldn’t say a word at the moment.
Nellie did not continue to ask.
At this point, any news midway through the operation would not be good news for them.
Miriam didn’t tell her that a critical illness notice had just come and she was so scared that her son wouldn’t make it out alive.
When Nancy saw that Nellie did not continue to speak, she gave her a fierce glare and was about to speak up subconsciously, however, Miriam gave her a cold glare.
Nancy could only swallow back the words that followed, but her gaze at Nellie grew more and more discontented.
She thought Nellie was a demon girl.
Before she came along, Nancy was pampered by her family, and after she came along, even after betraying her brother, her family still treated her so well.
On the contrary, there was a big drop in attitude towards her.
Time went by minute by minute.
It was torturous for everyone.
It was an operation that lasted several hours, from 10am until afternoon and then until 6pm.
The crowd went from anxious at the beginning to exhausted at the end.
“Grandma, why don’t you go back first?” Nancy said as she helped the old lady.
The old lady looked at the time and her eyes were teary.
Shaking her head, she said, “I’ll wait for Barney to come out.”
It was her eldest grandson and she had to wait him out.
Nellie had been carrying a thermos bucket in her hand, and she had stood still since she arrived at the hospital.
Both eyes fixed at the words of the operating room with the light on.
Finally, the light went out.
All looked nervously at the door of the operating theatre, all hearts in their throats.
Finally, the door opened.
First the nurse came out.
Before Nellie could come forward, Nancy helped the old lady up, and Miriam, Miriam, followed, looking nervously at the nurse.
Nancy, “How did my brother’s surgery go?”
She asked anxiously.
Yet the nurse’s gaze swept around, “Who is Miss James?”
When Nellie heard the nurse call her, she hurriedly stepped forward, “I am, what’s wrong?”
Nurse, “Mr. Brooks asked you to wait here for him to come out, he has a gift to give you.”
Nancy subconsciously glanced at Nellie, all that flashed under her eyes was dissatisfaction and jealousy.
All the people are waiting for him, but he had a gift for this woman?
Nellie didn’t care about the gift, when she got the news, she cried out in excitement, “So, the operation was successful, wasn’t it?”
