“No”
“Yes. I’ll be waiting for you.” he pulled her into a hug before kissing her on the forehead. “Be a good boy, kiddo.” he turned to Jayden and roughened his hair.
“Now, go.” he muttered and stepped back. Tears welled up in Karen’s eye as he stared at him before turning and pulling her box inside the airport building.

Meanwhile, the news of Damian’s arrest had spread all over the city. Jack had made the police keep the reason for his arrest a top tier secret, however, there were already speculations flying about.
His company had since been shut down for investigation over corruption charges and interrogation intensified. Seeing the turn of events, most of his investors had pulled out, leaving the company to crumble.
“Hope this interests you.” the attorney stated, pushing a document to him on the table they sat. Damian picked it up and stared at the content before looking at the attorney. “Your company has been shut down, your investors have left, and there are fresh charges of money laundering against you.” the attorney added.
“I need to speak with my lawyer.” Damian voiced out.
“This is a federal case bounding on kidnap, attempted murder, money laundering and other associated crimes. Unfortunately, you have no choice of lawyer until all investigations have been concluded.” the attorney replied.
“I am a legitimate business man,” Damian argued.
“I don’t think so” the attorney pulled out fresh documents from his bag and dropped them on the table. “There are many charges against you. I’m afraid you might get up to a hundred years when we complete our investigations. But if you cooperate with us, we can be lenient with you.”
Ever since his arrest, many investigations had followed. Incriminating evidence was found at his company’s office against him. There was evidence of money laundering against him, and fresh evidence of drug trafficking was springing up against him.
“I will give you time to think about your decision. I will be back by seven pm for a longer discussion.” the attorney stated, rising from his seat. He picked up his bag and walked out, leaving Damian to ponder about his words.

“What are we gonna do about Damian?” Harry asked. They were both seated in Jack’s office in Los Angeles. After the abduction scare had been settled, Harry had travelled back to Chicago and had returned a few days ago.
“I’ll leave him for the law. He had too many charges hanging around his neck. I’m sure he will not escape them.” Jack replied.
Harry nodded, “What about you and Karen?”
“There is nothing to talk about. She left, and I’ll wait for her. I know she will come back” he replied.
“Can you listen to yourself, bro? Karen left, she fucking left. I think it’s high time you move on.” Harry advised.
Jack scoffed, looking at Harry dead in the eyes, “I already made my decision, you can’t change my mind.”
“Alright then. Goodluck!”
The attorney returned a few minutes past the scheduled time. He was dressed in a black cardigan over a blue shirt. He held his usual briefcase that contained documents, and his face held no smile, which Damian noted as strange.
“Good evening Mr Woods.” he greeted Damian. “I’m sorry for coming behind time. Apparently, new evidence has been found against you. It’s gonna be a long night.”
Damian’s heartbeat accelerated as he heard the attorney’s statement. His face had gone pale ever since he got arrested, and he was sure his face was paler now.
“What evidence?” he managed to ask, barely hearing his own voice.
The attorney took out a stack of documents and dropped them on the table. He picked two from them and held them in his hands. “You have been linked to a drug and arms trafficking cartel in Chicago and you have also been linked to a syndicate that operates all over the country with an office in New York. Something about the deep four.” the attorney stated and Damian stared at him in shock. How did they find out about the deep four?
“D-eep four?” he stammered.
“Yes. They have been on our radar for a long time for different criminal charges. The government is ready to negotiate with you for information that would lead to their capture.” the attorney.
“Why do you think I have the information that you need?” Harry questioned.
“Cos you are part of the deep four”
Damian scoffed. “I don’t belong to any organization or syndicate as you call it.”
“That is a lie, Mr woods.” the attorney reprimanded.
Damian looked up from the table, looking at the ceiling in the room. There were two security cameras in the room. “Are those working?” he pointed at them with his cuffed hands.
“What?” the inspector turned to look.
“The cameras”
“Yes. All the footage is recorded.” the attorney replied.
“The deep four have their eyes everywhere. They could be watching behind those cameras.” Damian stated.
The attorney stared at him incredulously. “Those cameras are connected to the central station. Can only be accessed by the officer in charge.” he explained.
“We’ll see about that. Tomorrow, I will tell you everything you need to know about the deep four, but without the cameras.”
“Why without the cameras?” the attorney questioned.
“Without the cameras or I’m saying nothing.” Damian stood up from his chair, ready to move.
“Alright then. No cameras. I will make sure the cameras are uninstalled before morning. ” the attorney replied.
“Good” Damian replied and walked out. He was going to tell the government everything he knew them. Fuck the oath of secrecy he swore! Fuck them! Tomorrow, they were going down with him.

“Activate plan brick” a man in the dark said into his phone.
“Copy that!” the man on the other end of the phone replied and the line went dead.

The next morning, the attorney walked into the room dressed in his usual black uniform. A secret sound recorder was positioned perfectly in the sleeves and collar of his shirt. He also held one in his hand. He was going to get everything recorded.
He took his seat on one of the chairs and picked out a newspaper from his bag to read. Damian was yet to come. Few minutes into his reading, Damian walked out looking refreshed. He wore a blue trouser and shirt, and his hair was styled differently, the reason he took long to appear.
“You look different today.” the attorney commented.
Damian nodded in response and took a seat. He scanned the room and nodded again. The cameras had been taken off. “You took off the cameras?” he noted.
“Yes. I like to keep to my own side of the deal” the attorney replied.
“That is nice” some seconds of silence followed “The deep- ” Damian started but stopped. He coughed out blood and held his chest tightly. He took his hand away and looked at it. Blood was dripping from his chest. He had been shot by a sniper.
He gave a dry laugh, coughing out blood in the process. “Too late. They were already here.”
