“It’s so late. Why are you here again?” Zhong says softly. Although he uses the word “again”, his tone is full of tenderness.
“I have cooked the Spirit-Quieting soup. I think you are so hard-working that I want you to eat it.”
After sensing Ding’s concern, Zhong feels warm, but he still calms down and asks, “Do you eat it?”
“Yeah.” Ding nods quickly. She thinks that Zhong just wants to ensure whether the soup tastes good or not. To be honest, she thinks it’s not good. But in order to trick Zhong to drink it, she can only say: “It’s delicious.”
At this moment, Zhong looks suspiciously at Ding. This girl can’t lie at all because her eyes are the most honest. At the moment, there is a twinkling light in her eyes, making her the very kind girl in the dim light.
“Let’s go and have a look.” Zhong is about to go to the kitchen but is pushed back by Ding. Maybe he is off-guard, or Ding just pushes so hard that they two step back to the room because of inertia.
Zhong does not need to turn on the light when dealing with business, because he keeps all the things in his mind. At this moment, only the bedside lamp gives off a soft light, creating a romantic environment.
Ding, who pushed Zhong into the room so hard, suddenly becomes shy and stands in the room in a daze.
It is Zhong who first realizes the situation and goes to close the door.
“Click, click”
Hearing locking the door, Ding is about to jump up in a hurry and asks, “What are you doing?”
“Locking the door inside. Can’t you see?” Zhong says it casually as if nothing has happened.
“You… and me… stay in one room! You even locked the door! Let me out!” Ding yells out very passionately.
In her mind, she has already abandoned her lady-like image while the way she behaves makes Zhong smile instead of scaring him away.
“Pervert, let me out!” Ding tries her best to get rid of him. She runs to the door but finds out that the door of Zhong’s bedroom has been designed specially and has four passwords, which can only be opened after all of them are correct.
At the moment, Zhong is wearing a more magical smile, like Ding in front of him, has already become his prey, whether to eat or not depends on his mood.
“I remember that one day you pushed me to drink a lot, but nothing out of line happened that day. Why don’t we make it up today?”
This sentence, like a bolt from the blue, makes Ding stunned. When she thinks about what she has done before, she always regrets for her lack of consideration. At that time, she did it with justice, but now she is scared to death.
Noticing Ding is back step by step, Zhong smiles lightly and follows her step by step until both come to the corner of the wall.
Zhong slightly bows his head to let himself be closer to Ding. He asks, “Please make Spirit-Quieting soup for me hereafter.”
“No.” Ding doesn’t have patience to do such things. What’s more, if she knows what happens now, she will never walk around this room in the future.
“It’s not up to you. After all, you owe me so much. You must repay me well, right?” says Zhong with an overbearing and unreasonable tone.
Ding really wants to fight with such a person, but she has to eat dirt for the facts that their strength is as different as day and night and he once helped her.
When Ding is pausing and pondering, she suddenly feels a warm and soft touch at her lips. It’s Zhong’s lips. The man who always has a poker face is kissing her.
It seems that Zhong can read Ding’s mind. He says with a bit cold voice: “Concentrate on it.”
Why does he always have a finger on every pie? Ding feels unfair in her heart. “How can you even have a finger on my being absent-minded when kissing? Whatever, it is you who take the initiative to kiss me and you even ask me to concentrate on it.”
The idea of fighting against injustice in her mind gradually weakens with Zhong’s kissing, and Ding’s will seems to be asleep. She is at the mercy of Zhong, without fighting back.
When Ding comes back to her senses, she only sees Zhong wearing a warm smile and he says, “You don’t have to look forward to it. Isn’t your friend still outside? Let’s go. ”
After listening to Zhong’s words which are as warm as spring days but are heard on rare occasions, Ding only feels that she is powerless. But her two hands seem to have their own consciousness, and they are still around Zhong’s lean waist.
“I’ll change my clothes and leave.” Zhong says, and then lets go of Ding’s hands. He asks her to sit on the bed to have a rest, while he goes to change clothes.
Ding, who is staring at her own hands in a daze, and catches a glimpse of Zhong walking around the room, as if she were the air. In the night, Ding only feels that her face is very hot, and her heart keeps racing.
When Zhong puts on home clothes, he holds Ding, sitting up on the bed and seemingly losing her mind and says, “Come on, your friend is still waiting outside.”
When Ding leaves, Bai Beiwang stands alone in the kitchen. Her figure is indescribably lonely. Productive and intelligent as she is, she also has her secret that she cannot help but feel Zhong is really good after she saw him. But for many reasons they didn’t have a chance to meet each other before.
This time Bai Beiwang does not come to Zhong’s house to experience life. She quietly takes out a small paper bag that has been hidden in her sleeve and gently puts the powder into the soup. Then she tears the paper into pieces and throws it into the garbage can.
Doing this makes Bai Beiwang’s heartbeat fast. After listening quietly for a long time, she is sure there is nobody, so she musters up her courage to stir the soup gently in order to mix it with the powder.
After waiting patiently for a long while, Bai Beiwang finds that Zhong comes to the kitchen with Ding in his arms.
Bai Beiwang is sensible to figure out that when Zhong looks at her again, his eyes are cold and stern as if he blames her for staying here late and compelling Ding to stay up late with her.
But when he turns her eyes back to Ding, he becomes warm.
Bai Beiwang thinks “I cherish a lot the person others do not cherish, but I cannot get him.” She adjusts herself and says then: “I’m really sorry to disturb you so late. Come and try my Spirit-Quieting soup.”
