Ding Manman wants to escape from these high walls, and obviously she is under the influence of martial arts novels and underestimates the difficulty of going out. She also remembers that when Zhong Shaoting was around, no matter where she escaped, he would always catch her. If there were such a predicament, she must have been taken away by Zhong several hours ago. As the wooden door is still burning, she believes that it can hold on for a while, in which case she quickly goes back to her room and hides herself in a small corner to wait and see.
Since the burning wooden door makes loud noises, those men outside the door fail to hear Ding’s cry for help. Zhong Shaoting, who is the head, refuses to listen to the advice of other people around him.
