Chapter 940

Book:Surprised With Her Real Identities Published:2024-5-31

Although there may have been some dissatisfaction with the Hipps family before, after all, they were previously framed by criminals and the Gibson family unanimously believed that the Hipps family was too dangerous.
Mollie married into the Hipps family, wouldn’t she have to live on a knife’s edge from now on?
But now that Sylvia has been recognized as part of the Hipps family again, old Mr. Gibson and Mollie’s brothers can finally relax. After all, Sylvia and Franklin are not easy to mess with.
If you want to provoke them, you must first be prepared to be doomed. Look at what happened to the Ritter family or Tiffany and her daughter from Evans family… even Aldo and his son ended up in jail while Wilson family disappeared…
Old Mr. Gibson realized that anyone who had a good relationship with Sylvia would end up not only safe but also benefit greatly in the end; those who had bad relationships or harmed her would suffer miserably.
It was said that Isla from Saunders family used to oppose Sylvia but later changed sides and made it big in MI6; if someone kept opposing Sylvia and Franklin then their job at MI6 might not be able to save them either – Saunders family would also suffer.
There is also Cristal whose husband’s family just announced collaboration with Maskelyne Group.
So no matter what happens, holding onto this powerful connection with Sylvia means that nothing will happen to them.
Old Mr. Gibson did not feel ashamed of having such thoughts despite his age; he felt proud of his granddaughter for having such foresight early on by building a good relationship with Sylvia which was stronger than anything else!
The elders of Hipps family seem very easy-going as well towards their granddaughter-in-law Clare despite being several years older than her compared to their own granddaughter.
Since both Clare and Franklin are fond of each other it can be considered high status for the Gibson family since they managed climb up higher through their relations within the Hipps’ aristocratic lineage even though currently they don’t hold much power in Aettosa anymore!
But still being an Earl’s household counts for something! When Clare inherits this title soon enough, then our dear grand-daughter will become an Earl’s wife… It’s almost unimaginable!
“By the way, tomorrow is the physical competition for international pilots’ championship race,” Emiliano Gibson suddenly remembered this matter so she asked about how well Mr. Maskelyne and few others selected players were preparing.”
He and his three brothers had been following this competition closely. After all, it concerned the honor of the entire empire. Many people were paying attention.
“Preparation is good,” Franklin said with a hint of confidence in his eyes. “There was no physical competition originally, but it was added temporarily this year, catching many contestants off guard. However, to become a pilot, one’s physical fitness must be excellent, so everyone’s level should not be too different.”
Emiliano Gibson nodded. “That’s good to hear. The four of us have bought tickets for tomorrow and the final match as well. We’ll also go to the scene tomorrow to cheer for our empire’s contestants.”
“I wanted to be a pilot before, but my physical fitness wasn’t very good at that time,” Makhi Gibson said regretfully. “I didn’t expect Mollie from our family to insist on joining the military and even went to the Air Force department in the end.”
Except for Zechariah Gibson who managed their company’s business affairs, their other three brothers inherited Mr. Gibson senior’s mantle and went into Navy Department.
Being a soldier is tough work.
Originally Mr. Gibson thought that having his only daughter have a stable job would suffice.
But then… she insisted on joining military service and becoming some kind of queen bee in there instead of being some weak little flower.
Seeing her granddaughter so motivated made him happy naturally but he also felt somewhat heartbroken at times.
Fortunately Clare is doing well too.
The Hipps family has always held Aettosa’s flight department which isn’t an ordinary department either.
“You can get your pilot license here which allows you fly private planes yourself and experience what it feels like flying up in sky,” Franklin helped Sylvia peel off a shrimp while talking with Makhi Gibson on one side. “You don’t necessarily need join military.”
“Mr. Maskelyne has got quite an idea there! Later we can all take exams together then use our own planes taking grandpa and family out playing around together! It feels pretty great just thinking about it!” Zechariah Gibson laughed as he spoke. “Mr. Maskelyne really gave us some inspiration.”
“Okay okay okay! In future we old guys will wait for you guys’ planes!” Old Mr. Gibson happily took sip from his tea cup. “Sylvia cooked such amazing dishes; I think they are better than those cooked by Royal Galaxy’s chef back then.”
“Exactly, this dish is really to our taste. It’s much better than what my aunt makes at home,” Mollie said playfully.
“I never expected Miss Andrews to have such great cooking skills,” Mrs. Gibson also looked kindly at Sylvia. She used to think she was mysterious, but now seeing her up close, she looked even more beautiful than in the photos.
She was easy to get along with and didn’t talk too much, but when others spoke, she smiled and listened attentively. You could tell she had a lot of class and manners.
This girl was young but had so many achievements already; it was truly unbelievable. But what was even more surprising was that she didn’t seem arrogant or conceited – just very down-to-earth.
The atmosphere during dinner was very harmonious; everyone ate and drank while chatting happily.
Giancarlo Morales had just been discharged from the hospital and still felt weak; he went back to his room after finishing his meal.
“How are preparations for the engagement banquet going?” Franklin asked Clare. “If you need anything, don’t hesitate to ask.”
Clare hesitated before answering. “We’ve already booked Golden Restaurant for the event, and everything else is being planned by the wedding company – we don’t need to worry about anything.”
It felt strange being asked about her own engagement banquet by someone younger than herself.
“That’s good,” Franklin nodded slightly. “There have been quite a few happy events lately.”
After chatting for a while longer in the Gibson family’s tea room, everyone dispersed back to their rooms.
The Hipps family stayed temporarily in one of The Gibson family’s guest rooms.
Sylvia saw that there wasn’t anything left for her here so she bid farewell with Franklin and left together with him.
Walking on the road made Sylvia feel sleepy since they woke up early this morning.
The light rain continued falling from above as they walked on wet ground.
“I wonder if it will still rain tomorrow during our competition,” Sylvia opened her phone app checking weather forecast as they walked along together. “Rain until heavy rain tomorrow? How can we compete like this?”
She frowned slightly while looking at her phone screen.
“Heavy rain?” Franklin glanced over at Sylvia’s phone screen then furrowed his brows upon seeing the forecast. “That will make things more difficult.”
Sylvia put away her phone then gazed outside where light drizzle continued falling from above. “But can’t we postpone it?”
“This is a world-class competition, how can it be postponed?” Franklin rubbed her hair. “Besides, the audience has already bought their tickets. Postponing and exchanging tickets would require a lot of manpower and resources…”
“You’re right.” Sylvia brushed his big hand away. “My hair will get messy.”
“We’ll be home soon, it’s okay if it gets messy. I don’t mind.” Franklin leaned in close to her ear, his handsome face suddenly enlarged. Sylvia was startled and took a step back. “What are you doing?”
But this only caused the man to burst into laughter.
“Why are you so scared? We’re legally married, I’m your husband,” Franklin said as he opened his thin lips and lightly bit her earlobe. “Can’t I kiss my baby?”
Sylvia glared at him with a slightly red face, her small face looking as sweet as honey peach.
“Has anyone ever told you something?”
Franklin raised an eyebrow and looked mischievously at her. “What thing?”
“You look like fried peanuts just taken out of the oil pan,” Sylvia said slowly.
“What does that mean?” Franklin was confused.
Sylvia laughed wickedly like a fox. “Don’t understand? Never mind then.”
Franklin was puzzled and turned to Jasper for help. “Jasper, do you understand?”
Jasper coughed lightly; Mr. Franklin really didn’t get it… He had no choice but to remind him based on years of surfing experience. “So what about peanuts being oily?”
“You…” Franklin was about to ask why peanuts mattered when he suddenly looked up at Sylvia’s seemingly calm little face. “Are you calling me greasy?”
He looked incredulous with shock on his handsome face; he even gasped for breath. “I’m such a refreshing handsome guy! How could you think that I’m greasy? Greasy men are those middle-aged men who wear pearl necklaces!”
Jasper couldn’t hold back anymore and finally burst out laughing. “Mr. Franklin, don’t be so excited.”
Sylvia said playfully. “So from now on, you should go degrease yourself instead of always talking about those oily cheesy lines all day long. Do you understand?”
Franklin felt hurt – Was he being rejected by his own wife?
The car stopped in front of their house soon after. Sylvia got off the car still wearing that smile on her face which hadn’t faded yet .
After Sylvia scolded him, Franklin felt a little better seeing how happy she was. Nothing compared to making his wife happy. He didn’t like to talk sweetly, so he decided not to do it anymore.
The next morning, Sylvia woke up early and it was still raining outside. Franklin was getting ready when he heard her stirring.
“You can sleep a little longer. I have to go to the office,” he said.
“I can’t sleep,” Sylvia sat up and took off her pajamas, then started looking for clothes in the closet.
It’s better to dress simple on such a day, “Then I’ll go straight to the competition venue.”
She found a pair of blue jeans and a beige chiffon shirt. Her tall figure looked good in anything she wore.
After changing clothes, she went into the bathroom where Franklin had just finished showering. His well-built muscles made him almost perfect in Sylvia’s eyes. She blushed slightly as if still feeling his warmth from last night.
