Chapter 492: Have A Safe Journey

Book:TEMPTING The Mysterious CEO Published:2024-5-31

Mr. Weston seemed to like this dickhead.
Cody found out the truth very sadly. And it seemed like Mr. Weston was going to like this man more than he liked Cody.
Cody thought for a second. His skin was not as thick as Dylan’s. He was a complete failure in this department. But Cody heard his Dad also had the same kind of personality when he was young. But Linford Bradley got his woman in the end anyway.
Cody was confident that he would only be better than his old man.
To not lose the battle, Cody decided to have a thick skin.
After excusing himself, Cody walked out of the hall and took out his phone. He called Matt, shamelessly asking his assistant to arrange Dylan a new assignment.
When Cody went back to his seat, Dylan got a call from Matt, just as he expected.
Dylan rose up from his chair and said that he was sorry before he left.
However, when he came back, the look on his face didn’t even change. Thea knew how tired their jobs were. So she asked with concern, “What happened? Did you get an assignment?”
Dylan smiled charmingly, “No big deal, really. I don’t see how important it is when I’m having a meal with you lovely people.”
Granny giggled as she heard that.
Thea also smiled. She raised her glass and clinked it against Dylan’s. Dylan was such a gentleman. She thought.
Dylan was such a prick. Cody thought. How could he still be so calm after getting to know that he had been assigned tons of work?
Mr. Weston seemed to notice something had gone wrong. He cast Cody a warning look. Cody looked away, feeling annoyed.
After the meal, they asked the waiter to take a picture of all of them. Dylan was standing behind Granny and Mr. Weston. putting his hands on their shoulders as he leaned forward, smiling charmingly. Thea was holding her glass of wine, smiling at the camera.
Cody didn’t want to force out a smile, so he excused himself and went to the toilet.
From a distance, he could see Dylan was laughing and talking to Thea and the two old people. They looked like they were a family.
When it was finally time for Dylan to go, Granny told him again and again that he should be really careful on his way back.
Dylan nodded repeatedly and smiled.
Thea turned to Cody, “Cody, could you send Granny and Great-grandpa back first? I want to send Dylan back.”
Cody’s face fell, “He’s a grown man. He doesn’t need anyone to send him back.”
Granny was not happy about this at all, “How could you say that, Cody? Thea’s just trying to be polite.”
And then, the old woman turned to Thea, “It’s okay, honey. You can send him back. I can go back by myself.”
Thea cast Cody a confused look before turning around and leaving the restaurant with Dylan.
Dylan was quite sharp about things like this. He knew Cody was doing that because he was getting jealous. He didn’t care that Cody would fire him or anything, but he also didn’t want to make things awkward for Thea.
So he said, “We’re both celebrities. People will take photos and make up things once they see us. Besides, I’m a grown man. You really don’t need to send me back.”
Thea smiled, “Please don’t mind, Cody. He’s just too stubborn sometimes. No one knows what he’s thinking. Let me send you back to the hotel. I guess you’re gonna catch a flight soon and go back to your crew, right?
Dylan nodded, “Yeah. Gonna go back soon. Or I can’t explain it to the director later.”
Thea stood outside the hotel, waving her hand, “Have a safe journey then.”
Dylan nodded and turned around, walking away.
He was quite tall, and Thea could still see him among the crowd.
Thea took a long breath. It took her a while to finally walk back.
She didn’t mean to dwell outside for so long. She just didn’t know how to face Cody.
Cody must have heard everything she told Mia earlier. She wished he didn’t hear any of that. She only said that to make Mia stop hovering.
However, Thea didn’t see the paparazzi following her and Dylan the whole time. The paparazzi were so happy. They didn’t expect to get so many great pictures.
They couldn’t believe that they had just caught Thea and Dylan in the same frame. This was gonna make such a great report.
They would get so many readers. If it were not for Yolanda, they wouldn’t be able to get the information so soon.
They needed to thank her.
****
Meanwhile, in Yolanda’s mansion, Yolanda had just finished her dinner. One of those paparazzi called her immediately after they got the pictures.
He told her that he had caught Thea on camera. And Thea was dating the famous actor, Dylan.
Yolanda was thrilled.
Both Thea and Dylan were popular stars. Once their relationship was exposed, Dylan’s toxic fans would go mad, and they would go to the official account of Era to complain. They would threaten the crew to change the actress, or they would boycott the show.
Dylan’s toxic fans used to do this before, and they had succeeded so many times.
Once the viewing of the show was threatened, the investors would definitely consider changing the female lead.
Yolanda laughed out loud as she thought about it.
“What are you laughing at, sweet thing?” Kaine just came back into the suite. His face was a bit red, and he was oozing with the smell of alcohol.
Yolanda almost threw up, but she swallowed it down as she approached him, “Nothing. I’m just waiting for you.”
Kaine left the dinner earlier because he couldn’t wait to come back for Yolanda. He carried Yolanda to bed.
“Hey! Wait… Wait!” Yolanda screamed in horror.
She didn’t know if Kaine was too excited tonight or if he was simply too drunk. He didn’t wear any condoms tonight.
