“Why? You’re not happy to see me?” Cody, notching that Thea didn’t give her any reactions, asked jokingly.
Thea dropped her gaze and took the cup of coffee from his hand, “I’m not unhappy. But I’m afraid someone else will get really upset. Boss, you really should see me less, so we will probably make someone’s day better.”
Those words that came out of her mouth were dripping with more sarcasm than she thought.
Cody frowned, “Do you really care about what other people think of us?”
Thea’s hand faltered.
Us?
She cleared her throat, “I’m just giving a suggestion that can reduce the harm to the slightest. Miss Weston hates my guts. If we get closer to each other, the grudge will only get deeper. I don’t need more enemies.”
Cody sighed and grabbed her shoulder. He leaned forward and looked Thea in the eyes, “Listen, Thea. No one can ever hurt you anymore. I won’t allow it. Besides, Mia’s gonna leave this country soon. Her dad’s sending her to England. There is a great school for her to focus her study.”
Thea’s mouth fell open, “Don’t tell me Mr. Weston’s sending his daughter to a boarding school because she slapped me.”
“That is exactly the reason,” Cody smiled bitterly, “Mia’s spoiled. But she has a great nature. Uncle Drew knew he and his wife probably spoiled the girl too much. They’re actually great people. There’s a reason that they spoiled their little daughter that much. Mia is actually not their only daughter.”
Cody thus explained the whole thing about Demi.
Thea felt sad after hearing the whole story, sadder than she should be. And that made her feel a bit weird.
“No wonder Mr. Weston always looks so sad. He may appear to be an outgoing person. But I always tend to notice the sadness under his eyes when he laughs or tells a joke.”
“You’re an observer, aren’t you?” Cody smiled as he ruffled Thea’s long hair, “The poor man suffered so much from that. That’s why he spoiled his second daughter so much.”
Cody himself was also trying to be tolerant of Mia. He just didn’t want his Uncle Drew to be sad.
Thea blinked, “Does Mia even know that she actually had an older sister?”
Cody shook his head, “I don’t think so. Both she nor Logan didn’t know about this, I guess. It’s hurtful enough for Aunt Fritzi and Uncle Drew to bring her up. But I heard their conversation lately. They said they would tell Mia and Logan about their older sister soon.”
Thea nodded, “I guess that is only fair.”
The girls standing by the coffee machine were stunned by the way Cody treated Thea. They thought Thea was the one who was trying to suck upon Cody. However, this handsome man took Thea’s coffee and cooed at her when he stepped inside the door. They couldn’t believe the CEO of such a big company would court a girl like her.
Those people online said Thea Todd was the shameless homewrecker. They didn’t expect it to turn out to be this way.
Cody and Thea, however, didn’t seem to care about how they felt or thought about this.
Cody was playing with a strand of Thea’s long hair, and Thea was just sitting before the mirror like a Queen. The couple looked like they were straighter, ripped from a poster, as they exchanged words occasionally, making all the girls in the studio stare and get jealous.

Meanwhile, in Linford’s house, Drew almost threw his phone away as he read the news on the Internet. He was so pissed off.
“How could the kids be so wayward? We just deleted the video last night. But now, the rumors just came out again! Linford, is Cody really dating Amy recently?”
Linford sighed. When it comes to love, some people just completely lose their minds.
“They’re not dating, as far as I know.” Linford shook his head.
“Then Amy must have a secret crush on your boy? But that doesn’t give her the right to do this to poor Thea.” Drew looked so angry.
Linford didn’t say anything about that. He just changed the topic, “Are you really gonna send Mia to England?”
Drew nodded, “The girl needs a lesson. I can’t keep spoiling her anymore. As for Amy… Would I ask Cristelle to go talk to Helena? Amy needs to stop doing this. I know she likes Cody, but she can’t do that to Thea… That girl shouldn’t be treated like that.”
Linford frowned, “I would ask Cristelle to do that. But you need to tell me the truth first, Drew. Why did you suddenly grow so worried about that girl? What did your grandpa tell you?”
Drew looked at his best friend, swallowing, “I didn’t grow to care about that girl. I have started to care about her since the first day I saw her. Grandpa did tell me something… I didn’t mention this to you because I really can’t bear getting disappointed again. I’m so scared that it would just become another letdown in the end.”
“Drew, come on,” Linford frowned, “You know I can only help you if you tell me the truth. Is it something about Demi?”
Drew nodded, “Yeah… Grandpa said he saw those pictures in Thea’s Granny’s phone that day, and he said he was sure that Thea was Demi. He is so sure that he sent me to investigate the whole thing. Do you even understand how excited I am right now, Linford? But… I’m also scared.”
Linford was also shocked.
Was that girl Demi?
But he had investigated her family before. That girl didn’t have any faults in her history. But her family was a mess.
Did he neglect something?
“I want to do the investigation in her hometown. I actually wanted to go to that city today. It’s just… I can’t leave when those people are still attacking her online.” Drew was getting more and more anxious, “This can’t be another dream, can it, Linford?”
Linford thought for a while as he went forward to grab Drew’s shoulder, “Mr. Weston seldom makes any mistakes. If he said that girl is Demi, what he said must be based on something. I’ll go with you.”
Drew was a bit happy.
The two friends discussed for a short while and left the house together.
