Thea called her Mom and Grandma first when she returned to her room to rest after the meal.
“Mom! Granny! What took you guys so long to pick up the phone?” Thea rolled over across the wide bed.
Her Mom giggled. She sounded like she was trying to cover something, “I’ve been busy. I didn’t even check out my phone. What are you doing today, honey? Why do you suddenly have time to call? You don’t have any shooting today?”
“Nope. The crew is giving us one day off. Where’s Granny? I thought she always wanted to talk to me?” Thea asked curiously.
Her Mom hurried to explain, “Oh… Of course, Granny’s taking a nap right now.”
Thea went silent for a second before she said, “Mom, you sound weird today. Is everything okay?”
Her Mom sounded full of joy. “Everything is great, silly. Why are you asking? I’m just a bit tired as well. You should hang up the phone and take some good rest. It’s rare for you to have one day off. You should enjoy the quietness and get some sleep.”
Thea pouted, “Okay. Then you go get some rest as well. I need to go to sleep. I still have a show to record tomorrow. I’ll call you soon.”
“Okay, sweetie. I watched that episode. Granny and I are both so proud of you.” Her Mom hung up the phone.
Thea was a bit worried. She couldn’t shake off the feeling that something must have gone wrong. But she didn’t think about it because she was too tired. Thea went on Twitter and checked out her fans’ reactions to her performance on stage. And then, she just drifted into a deep sleep.
Her Mom was right. She was indeed too tired.
“Thea, wake up,” Someone pushed Thea gently, and Thea opened her eyes slowly. It was Zoey.
Thea checked out her phone. It was already 7 pm. Did she sleep that long?
“The dinner is ready. Cody and Candace asked you to go downstairs and have dinner,” Zoey smiled.
“Okay,” Thea hummed, “I’ll be there soon. Thank you.”
Thea was still in a daze as she sat by the table. Zoey happened to serve some salad at the moment, “Here, honey. I know you’re on a diet. A little bit of salad won’t make you look awful before the camera.
“Thank you.” Thea smiled as she scooped some salad onto her plate.
“I’ll drive you back after dinner,” Candace offered.
Thea turned to smile at her sweetly.
“Don’t give Tiffany any chance to use you in the future,” Cody blurted out suddenly.
Thea put down her fork and blinked. What did that even mean?
Candace shook her head, “I know Tiffany looks like a nice girl. But she used her connections in the crew to know the titles of the songs beforehand. And she’s so pretentious during the show. I don’t even know why people still like her.”
Thea shrugged. It seemed like Cody and Candace knew what Tiffany did.
Cody observed the small look on her face, arching an eyebrow, “You’ve already known that she has been cheating, haven’t you?”
Thea almost choked on her salad, “Just a little. I guessed she was cheating, but I am not sure.”
“Then why didn’t you tell us?” Candace looked confused.
Cody cast Candace a look, “Thea keeping her silence was right. They are competitors anyway. Besides, if Tiffany got exposed, things would have gone bad for us. Tiffany’s company is HC. HC spent a lot of money on our show. It’s not wise to piss them off. Tiffany used to be cast in a popular drama. I know she’s quite annoying, but she can also bring heat to the show. It’s just… it would be best if you stayed away from her as far as you can in the future. Get it, Thea?”
Thea nodded. She was not an idiot. Even though Cody didn’t remind her, she could still tell that he was telling her that he wouldn’t give much exposure to Tiffany in the future. Cody was asking her to set her boundary with Tiffany.
Thea got in the car after dinner. When she pushed open the door, no one was in the dorm.
Other girls probably haven’t made it back yet. Thea went to take a shower before throwing herself in bed, enjoying her last bit of private time with her phone before it was taken away by the director.
Scrolling down showbiz news had already become a habit of hers. However, she had never expected to see her roommates on the front page.
Thea’s eyes were stung by the title of the news before she clicked the link. The news said Jessica is the third wheel.
She was dating a famous director, and the director had a wife. She was exposed to dating the director secretly. The wife was furious, openly calling Jessica a whore on Twitter.
No way!
Jessica might appear to be a bit snobbish and whining sometimes, but she didn’t look like she would steal away someone’s husband. The next round of competition is gonna begin soon. Would this be something her rivals made up to ruin her reputation?
Thea had never particularly liked Jessica before. But this piece of news made her feel bad for Jessica.
Thea shook her head… Jessica’s Twitter account was silent. Her comment section was swarmed with vicious comments calling her a snake and a bitch.
These people started it all over again. They hadn’t even figured out the truth yet, but they just hurried to start a cyber war against each other.
Another piece of news came into view. Anna, the girl Thea teamed up with during the first round, had been signed by WWC Entertainment.
Wait… The WWC Entertainment that made the best movies in this country? WWC Entertainment had countless famous actresses and actors. It was quite powerful among all the other companies. WWC Entertainment seldom signed any new faces. Once they picked up a potential artist, they would use all their resources to make them famous.
Anna was quite lucky to be signed away immediately.
