Cristelle chewed on her straw, “But Fritzi doesn’t look like… I’m sorry, but I have to be honest, Fritzi doesn’t look like she’s that into Paul. She always looks preoccupied when she is around him.”
“Well…” Linford smiled, “So you’re preoccupied around me when we have a date? Stop worrying about them, Mrs. Bradley. Just leave that problem for themselves to work out. They’re adults and capable of handling their worries.”
Cristelle nodded. Linford had a point. Maybe they should stay out of this.
They went to the Italian restaurant, and the waiter led them to their table. Linford ordered Cristelle’s favorite and smiled at her over the menu, “You’ve got the best wine here.”
Cristelle smiled at Linford sweetly.
After spending all holiday with the twins, it felt nice to have some private time with her husband.
The restaurant was delicately decorated, and the pianist here was also quite skillful.
Cristelle looked around the restaurant, and her eyes stopped at the corner.
“Linford… Linford, look… Is that Drew?” Linford turned to look and frowned, “He came here with Cindy?”
Cristelle dropped her gaze. Cindy’s sister hurt Candace cruelly before. Cristelle knew it had nothing to do with Cindy, but she still couldn’t bring herself to talk to her normally as Candace’s mother.
Linford noticed the look on Cristelle’s face. He held her hand and promised, “It’s okay. We can always avoid seeing Drew when he’s with that girl.”
Cristelle looked up and smiled sweetly.
The meal was great.
After that, Linford decided to take Cristelle to the strip mall to buy her some new dresses and jewelry.
Cristelle was amused, “More dresses and jewelry, I can start my own fashion gallery. If you genuinely want some quality time, Mr. Bradley…”
Cristelle leaned in and whispered, “Why don’t we find a nearby hotel?”
Cristelle was seldom being so provocative. Linford’s eyes widened in surprise. He couldn’t believe what he had just heard, but he soon grabbed Cristelle’s hand happily. “Indeed, Mrs. Bradley. That makes a lot of sense.”
Cristelle laughed and followed him out of the restaurant.

After the meal with Cindy, Drew didn’t find any things to do. The hospital also gave him one day off. He thus decided to go over to Linford’s company, but Fritzi wasn’t even there.
What the heck was wrong with these people? How could they skip work every day?
Drew thought for a second and called Linford. But Linford just wouldn’t pick up the phone. And then, a message from Linford came in, “Busy right now. Call me again, and I’ll bankrupt your hospital.”
Drew was stunned for a moment, frowning. He was not in the company, but he was still busy.
Was he on a business trip?
Drew didn’t remember the company having any overseas projects lately. Linford would only go on a business trip when the company had really important clients.
Drew walked back and forth in the hallway. Eventually, he decided to skip all the bullshit and find Fritzi directly.
Drew felt his heart was gonna jump out of his mouth when he called Fritzi.
The beeping sound made his heart rest in his throat. He almost choked on his breath when Fritzi finally picked up the phone, “Hello?”
He suddenly became silent. Drew held the phone and stood there like an idiot. What was he gonna say again?
“Drew?” Fritzi asked again, sounding a bit anxious, “Why are you calling?”
Why do I feel like you’ve been trying to avoid me? The question was on Drew’s tongue, and it felt bitterly pathetic.
“Did you dial my number out accidentally? I’m gonna hang up.” Fritzi was clearly losing her patience.
Just tell her, Drew. Tell her you missed her…idiot!
Drew took a deep breath, “Why did you skip work again today?”
He sounded like a pathetic boss, questioning an employee, and it was too late for him to take back his words.
Fritzi took a pause, “It doesn’t have anything to do with you, does it?”
Drew went red. Luckily, Fritzi hadn’t seen his face at this moment.
“I don’t think it’s nice. Linford’s not a forgiving person. You will piss him off sooner or later.”
“Did your best friend send you to spy on me?” Fritzi didn’t sound happy.
Drew didn’t even know what he was saying anymore. He’d been unstable the whole morning. He didn’t even know what to do after Fritzi went on a date with that dickhead. His head was a mess.
“Well… I just don’t want you to lose your job.”
“That’s very considerate of you,” Fritzi sounded sarcastic on the other side of the line, “I’m probably gonna get married soon. I want to quit my job after getting married. Besides, there is a difference between skipping work and asking for a day off. Linford’s got my note. He said he could understand that I needed to take a breath. I don’t need any instruction when it comes to my career.”
“This is not what I mean,” Drew said weakly. “Where-where are you?”
“Cafe.” Fritzi’s voice was cold, “Do you wanna join us since you seem to have so much time, Doctor Drew?”
Drew didn’t need to think about who the “us” Fritzi was referring to.
“No,” Drew said flatly, “I don’t think so. Enjoy your coffee.”
With that, he just hung up the phone, standing there and feeling lost.
Fritzi huffed and threw her phone into her purse.
“You just said ‘Doctor’?” Paul smiled charmingly, “Was it, Doctor Weston?”
Fritzi shrugged, “A pain in the ass.”
Paul chuckled, “He seems to be a nice person. The company does a lot of charity work. I saw him play with those sick kids during charity so many times.”
“Don’t be fooled by that facade of his.”
Fritzi took a sip from her cup of coffee.
That guy was an animal… at least in bed.
Who would have expected that handsome young doctor with a warm smile and a baby face was a fucking machine?
Fritzi had almost died in his bed that night.
The doctor surely wouldn’t know how she viewed him. But how did he view her exactly?
She was the one who called him that night. Did it make her look like a horn taco to him?
Men loved easy asses, but they would never ask women to be their wives… Did this Drew have the same view as her? Easy woman?
Fritzi was getting more upset and more anxious as she thought about that man. She couldn’t even focus on what Paul’s been talking about during the rest of the date.
