Cristelle and the babies stayed in the parlor, watching TV.
Linford had a call. He went upstairs and picked it up, knowing it must be someone from the company calling.
. After dealing with the business, Linford was gonna leave the study room. But Tanya suddenly came in.
“Linford,” Tanya cleared her throat, looking a bit nervous.
“What can I help you, Tanya?” Linford asked politely.
Tanya closed the door behind her back and took out a diamond bracelet, “Linford…. I… I actually have something to tell you.”
Linford’s eyes fell on the bracelet, and he instantly understood what Tanya was trying to say.
“Of course. What do you want to tell me?”
Tanya lowered her gaze. She looked like she was secretly trying to muster her courage, “Actually… The Wayne House came to me before.”
Linford arched an eyebrow, “Are you talking about that patch of land?”
So… Linford had already known their deal?
Tanya went pale, feeling a shiver down her spine. But she knew she couldn’t lie to this shrewd young man anymore, “Yes… I’m talking about the land. Mrs. Wayne gave me this bracelet. Listen, Linford. I was being stupid. I’ve been regretting my decision every day. I didn’t expect their visit would cause our family so much trouble. I’m so sorry.”
Linford was quite silent after what she said. He only began after a while, “Is this the only thing you want to tell me tonight?”
Tanya swallowed, feeling even more scared, “I know I’ve done a lot of awful things. I was being delusional and thought I could give Darwin a couple of kids. It turned out that was wrong… I just hope you can forgive me, Linford. I only hope we can get along well in the future.”
She seemed genuine.
Linford’s voice was cold as he said, “Pop hasn’t even tried once to stop you from having any babies. You’re a member of the family. You will get what belongs to you. And you shouldn’t covet things that don’t belong to you.”
Tanya blinked and understood the young man’s meaning instantly. She nodded, “Of course.”
“I’ll bear in mind what you told me today, Tanya,” Linford looked her in the eyes, “My Dad may look tough, but he actually needs a lot of love and attention. Please take care of him. I’ll be thankful.” Linford didn’t say it directly, but Tanya instantly understood that Linford had decided to trust her from now on.
The beautiful woman smiled and let out a breath, “I’ll take care of Darwin, Linford. You know I love him. It’s really lovely to get these off my chest with you. I think I should go.”
Linford nodded and let out a faint smile.

Miles’s secretary came to knock on the door. “Come in,” Miles said over the phone.
Miles happened to hang up the call when the secretary came in, “Yes?”
“Sir, your family demands you to go back tonight.”
“Why do they want me to go back?” Miles asked without looking up. The secretary seemed hesitant, “Well… The White family sent their men. They want an explanation.”
Miles nodded and waved the secretary away, “I get it now. Cancel all my meetings this afternoon.”
After the secretary walked away, Miles called Lana. His voice was deceivingly gentle over the phone. Lana would have had silly ideas if she didn’t just get to know that Miles was gay.
“Are you still sleeping right now?”
“Yep. Any problem?” Lana sounded groggy and not in the mood for chitchat.
“No problem. Take as much sleep as you want,” Miles smiled before hanging up the phone.
It seemed like the White family didn’t inform Lana about this meeting tonight.
Miles went back to work after the call as if nothing had ever happened.

Meanwhile, Mr. Johnson, Miles’s Grandpa, was furious over the divorce agreement paperwork on his table.
“Send this back! Send this back right now!” Mr. Johnson yelled.
Mrs. White, Lana’s grandma, was Mr. Johnson’s sister. Mr. Johnson had thought the wedding would bring prosperity to the two families. He didn’t expect it to end up like this.
What did Ann mean by sending this here? Did she really want to end the union of the two families? He gnashed his teeth.
Mr. Johnson’s man accepted the mission and went to the White family immediately.
However, that man didn’t even manage to see Mrs. White in person.
Mrs. White’s secretary was blocking the door, “Ma’am has said that we will resort to the court if you don’t sign the divorce agreement. Go back and tell your master that the whole thing could be low-key. Divorce or find a lawyer, this is your choice. Mrs. White has nothing else to say to you. Please go back and stop coming to harass Mrs. White.”
With that, the secretary closed the doors in that man’s face. The man went back and told Mr. Johnson about the treatment he got in the White family.
Mr. Johnson was furious that he tore the divorce agreement into pieces, “She has the gall to talk to her big brother that way!”
Mr. Johnson’s assistant tried to calm him down, “Sir, take it easy. You know how wayward Ann could be. Let’s not get mad because of that. There must be some misunderstanding.”
“How can I take it easy when she treats me like a piece of shit? Where’s the Miles boy? I didn’t see him!”
Miles happened to walk in the door at the moment. He had predicted his Grandpa’s reaction, so he already had a big smile on his face, “Jeez… Which idiot made my Grandpa angry again?”
“The White family sent their men this morning.” The assistant explained.
“Really?” Miles smiled, “Why did they send their people?”
“Those bastards sent your divorce agreement! The White family wants you and Lana to get a divorce! And you still don’t know! Have you ever stepped into the White family after the wedding?” His Grandpa asked angrily.
Miles shrugged, “The business in the company is pretty busy. I haven’t gone to visit Lana’s grandma yet.”
“No wonder they want a divorce, Miles. That’s so rude!” Mr. Johnson shook his head, “You should have at least visited Mrs. White, no matter how busy you are! You marry her favorite granddaughter, for God’s sake.”
Miles nodded, “Of course. I should have thought about this. I’m going to the White House immediately.”
