Mrs. White huffed, “What are you trying to say, Franco? If Lana can’t give your house a baby, she’s completely worthless to you, right?”
Mr. Weston also looked angry, “Don’t try to mix things up again to cover your own mistakes, Ann! You know what your granddaughter has done! She used the baby like a tool. It’s only fair to handle the whole thing this way.”
Lana just sat there like a lifeless doll, not saying a thing.
Mrs. White thudded the cup of tea in her hand against the table, “What has Lana done? Why didn’t I hear any of her evil plans? I only know that Linford raped my granddaughter when he was drunk! You have the guts to smear our family name!”
Mr. Weston shook his head.
Enzo took a step forward and told everyone the truth. “That baby in Lana’s belly was a Bradley member, but it was not Linford’s. Lana used tricks to get herself pregnant, and she even threatened us with Cristelle’s real identity.”
Mrs. White was furious after hearing that. She only realized at this very moment why Lana decided to take adoration.
She thought Lana did that because she was utterly disappointed by Linford. She didn’t know Lana did that because her plan failed.
How could she have done anything like that? How could she have hidden everything from her?
Lana finally spoke at the moment. She sounded sarcastic when she opened her mouth, “How could you be so sure the baby was not Linford’s? Just because of what Clara told you? That bitch lies. No one should trust her.”
The look on Enzo’s face was a mix of indifference and disgust. “If you want to lie to everyone, including yourself, Lana, you can keep saying that. But deep down in your heart, you know what happened, don’t you?”
Lana sneered, “Deep down in my heart, I only know the baby was unwelcome by you people. I don’t care how you’re gonna solve this. But I came here today to make my points clear. From now on, I won’t appear in Linford’s life anymore. And I won’t step into your house as well. By the way, I’ve told the Johnson family about Cristelle’s real identity. I hope your family and the Johnson family have a long and bitter war. And I will laugh when your family is attacked by other big houses and fights like a mad dog.”
With that, she shot up from her seat and stormed out of the parlor.
Mrs. White’s mouth fell open. She was too stunned to follow up.
The Johnson that Lana just mentioned was not the Jasper Johnson family.
That was Mrs. White’s mother’s family, a powerful counterpart of the Bradley House in another city.
Jasper’s House was just a small branch of it. Lana was putting the White family in danger by pissing the Bradley family this way. She was out of her mind!
“Lana! Stop!” Mrs. White screamed as she caught up, “When the heck did you tell them? Why didn’t you discuss this with me beforehand?”
Lana laughed viciously. “Why are you still caring about stupid things like this right now, Nanny? Bradley will treat us as their enemies anyway. Isn’t this more exciting to lure them into having another strong enemy?”
Mrs. White was so pissed off that her whole body was trembling. She had no bond with her original family, and she’d meant to contain her benefits from them. How could this stupid granddaughter of hers do something like that?
If those people got to know, Cristelle wouldn’t be able to live until next month. After that, the relationship between Bradley and the White family would be beyond repair.
“How dare you!” Mrs. White bellowed.
Lana stopped in her tracks as the Bradleys all went out of their parlor.
Lana turned around, smiling, “Why? Did I do anything wrong? They didn’t even want my baby. Why do I have to save their reputation for them?”
Drew was angry, yelling, “Linford has never done anything wrong! Clyde loved you, and Linford’s been treating you like his little sister. You don’t have to do this, even if it’s unrequited love!”
Little sister?!
Lana madly hated this word.
Drew took a step forward, looking indignant, “You also shouldn’t have tricked Clyde even if you didn’t like him. You can’t use his baby as bait, Lana! Clyde was a gentleman, and he adored you. But you can’t use him like that. It’s disgusting!”
Franco’s eyes darkened as he heard what Drew said. His hands were trembling. Enzo cast Drew a look, telling him silently that he shouldn’t have mentioned Clyde. Franco clearly couldn’t take it.
Lana sniffed, “If they accepted the baby, I wouldn’t need to take the abortion. You guys are the murderers as well.”
“This is bullshit!” Drew was furious. He didn’t expect this woman to be so shameless.
Lana had known this would happen since the day she learned that they didn’t send Cristelle away, “I’m not bullshitting. I’m just stating the facts. Besides, you have no evidence to prove that the baby was Clyde’s, have you? You can’t prove that I did anything to hurt that man’s dignity. You should say sorry to me!”
This was complete nonsense.
Before Drew could say anything, someone suddenly knocked on the door, “Sir Franco, Sir Linford asked me to send some files to you. Please take a look.”
Drew opened the door, and Alfred limped in. His head was still bandaged, “I brought these from Mr. Bradley’s office. He asked me to send these to you.”
“Thank you, Alfred,” Drew nodded at the assistant, “Get some rest. You shouldn’t have exhausted yourself like this.”
Drew gave those files to Franco. Franco skimmed through the files, and the hatred in his eyes deepened.
“Take a look yourself,” the old man slammed those files on the table before Lana and Mrs. White.
Mrs. White almost had a heart attack after reading the file. It said the baby’s DNA was highly similar to Clyde’s.
It must be Clyde’s child.
Mrs. White was so ashamed that she couldn’t spend one more minute in this house anymore. She stormed out of the house. Lana followed her quickly.
“Pop, leave the rest to me. You don’t need to worry about all these problems anymore,” Enzo knew what would happen to the Bradley family next. He’d like to take all the responsibility on his shoulders. He believed he could lead the family through the looming crisis.
Franco nodded before standing up from his chair, “Let’s go visit Linford together, shall we?”
