Cody turned around and saw his Uncle Enzo.
Cody let out a breath, complaining, “If it took you even longer to get here, Uncle Enzo, you would never see your nephew again.”
Enzo resisted the urge to roll his eyes. If he had come a couple of minutes later, Clara Palton would have disappeared from this world.
“Uncle Enzo! Uncle Enzo!” Candace was acting like any normal kid. She cried loudly as she ran toward Enzo.
Enzo picked her up, patting her back gently, “Here… here… Stop crying, you poor thing. Uncle’s here. No one can hurt you again.”
Enzo waved at his men, and the group of men just filed into the small room.
He took the babies to his car and left everything behind.
He called Pop instantly after he got into the driver’s seat, telling the old man that the babies had been saved.

“Mom!” Candace hugged Cristelle tightly the moment she saw her, refusing to let go. Cristelle could finally breathe normally after seeing her babies. She crouched down and collected them all tightly in her arms, “Did you guys get hurt? Let me take a look.”
Cody felt a bit embarrassed being held by his Mom in front of everyone, but he also missed Mom so much. So he just stayed in her arms and let her hug him.
Cristelle noticed the bruises on his neck. It broke her heart, “What happened to you, sweetie? Does it hurt?”
“Mom, that crazy lady was so scary. It’s all her fault.” Candace sobbed.
“Who’s that bad woman?” Cristelle’s eyes widened.
Cody was pretty calm, saying, “Nothing. No big deal.”
Cody didn’t want to scare Cristelle. He didn’t want to continue this topic anymore, “Mom, did you make any food for us? We’re really hungry.”
Candace also nodded.

When Enzo opened the door, Linford was lying in his bed leisurely.
He looked a bit pale. He didn’t even bother to look up as Enzo came in.
“Candace and Cody are downstairs right now,” Enzo pulled a chair and sat beside the bed, “You’re less worried now, right?”
Linford turned to look at his brother, his tone sarcastic, “Why am I always the last one to know about everything? Does this mean that you will start to treat me like a stranger as well, Enzo?”
Enzo reclined in his chair, “I only have the big picture in my mind, Linford. Both Pop and I think going abroad is what’s best for Cristelle.”
Linford pouted like a child, looking away.
“Oh, by the way, there’s something I need to tell you. Do you still remember that stillborn of Clara’s?” Enzo began.
“I don’t care about her. I actually have something to tell you,” Linford sat straighter on his bed, “I’ve investigated the whole thing. It turns out Clyde did freeze his sperm before.”
“Huh?” Enzo’s mouth dropped open, “Are you kidding me?”
Linford looked pretty calm, “Unlike you, Enzo. I would never lie to my brother.” Linford’s words were dripping with sarcasm, but Enzo didn’t argue, “Wait… So… Lana really is pregnant with Clyde’s child?
Linford shifted his body a bit, “Frank told me only identical twins have identical DNA. I know I’ve never done anything to Lana White. Clyde had never mentioned his sperm to anyone before he passed away. I guess the person who knows must be the one who was close to Clyde. Clara is definitely aware of this fact. We all know how much she hated Lana. She must have used that and plotted everything behind.”
Enzo seemed to be doubtful, “But Lana wouldn’t fall for her tricks that easily. She’s quite smart. Everyone knows she only loves you. She wouldn’t put Clyde’s sperm in her body.”
“What if Clara told her that the sperms were mine?” Linford said quietly.
“Impossible!” Enzo refused, “Lana is not an idiot. It’s not like Clara is someone to you. How could she have your…”
“What if Clara can prove to Lana? Is a DNA test difficult to do? She could use a DNA test result to persuade Lana. It’s not a difficult thing nowadays. If Frank didn’t come back this time, we would never know about the truth,” Linford’s face was cold.
Enzo sighed, “I also want to prove that you’re innocent. But I’m afraid White wouldn’t allow any DNA tests. It would make Lana look like a fool. However, now that we’ve got Clara, using her to confront Lana White would be so much fun. She knew every crazy thing Lana had done. They can’t deny those things.”
“Don’t tell any of this to Pop. I don’t want to give him a heart attack,” Linford suddenly turned around, begging his brother.
“So, you still remember you have a grandpa, huh?” Enzo mocked.
Linford ignored the mockery, changing the topic, “How are the twins?”
“And you only remember to ask about them now?” Enzo huffed, rolling his eyes, “They almost died.”
“WHAT?!” Linford panicked, “What happened?”
“Geez. Calm down. They’re completely safe now.”
“Do you want me to bring the babies up so you can spend time with them?” Enzo asked.
Linford thought for a while and shook his head, “I don’t think so. They probably don’t want to see me right now.”
“And you don’t want to see them as well?” Enzo arched an eyebrow.
“How could I not want to see them?” Linford sighed, “I just don’t want to see the disappointment and anger on their faces. I can’t handle that for now. By the way, could you keep Clara in her place before we start to confront the White family? If those guys start to act sneaky again, you need to let me know. And give Alfred a couple of days off. I don’t think he’s ready for work.”
“Of course,” Enzo frowned slightly as he held the door open, “I gotta go. You stay in bed and get well as soon as you can. We need you. And…” Enzo looked down the corridor, “Don’t get too worried about the twins. They are quite lively after they get home. They will be fine.”
Linford understood his brother’s meaning immediately, sighing loudly. “How can I not be worried? Everything happened because of me. I even lied to them that I would divorce Cristelle and marry Lana. I really didn’t have a second choice back then, you know? But it was still a lie. I should have gone to save them myself. But you and Pop decided to make their situation a trap, using the opportunity to lure White in.”
