Cody cleaned Linford’s wounds in the parlor, and he deliberately made the process painful.
“Boy, do you know how to do this or not?” Linford frowned.
Cody shrugged, “Well… I learned it from Uncle Enzo. And I also did the same thing for him. Uncle didn’t say it was painful. What? Is it painful for you?”
Linford huffed and turned away.
Cody rolled his eyes as he continued.

When Linford went back to Cristelle’s bedroom, she really listened to her son and locked the door. Linford was so annoyed as he returned to his room, tossing and turning in his large bed.
Cristelle was his wife, and the babies were his children. What right did that boy have to stop him from sharing the same bed with his wife?
The more Linford thought about it, the angrier he got. So he sat up from his bed and went to the wall, pressing down a hidden button near his bookshelves.
A hidden door showed up and slung open. Linford walked in immediately, and the tunnel led him directly to Cristelle’s bedroom.
Cristelle was sleeping soundly in her bed. The lights were still on. Was she afraid of the dark?
Linford approached the bed and sat down, one hand brushing the locks of hair off her face, “Cristelle…”
“Yes?” Cristelle murmured in her dream as she opened her eyes slowly. When she noticed that it was Linford, she took in a deep breath and was about to scream. But Linford’s hand shot out to cover her mouth.
Linford thought she didn’t recognize him, “It’s me. Don’t be scared.”
She was exactly scared because it was him.
Cristelle grabbed the edge of her comforter and covered the lower half of her face, “Wha-what do you want? Why are you here?”
She remembered that she had locked the door a couple of minutes ago.
Linford pointed at the wall, “The secret tunnel.”
He didn’t want to hide anything from Cristelle.
“Seriously?” Cristelle rolled her eyes, “How many tunnels did you build in this house?”
“Three, one leads to Clyde’s room, one leads to the study room, another one leads to this bedroom,” Linford was quite honest about it.
“Fine… Why did you come to find me then?” Cristelle hadn’t had any sound sleep for days. Cody came back today, and she could finally sleep. She was pretty pissed off that Linford interrupted her sweet dream.
Cristelle’s hair was a mess, but she looked extremely attractive this way. Linford wanted to pull her in and kiss her everywhere, but he didn’t want to scare her.
So he sighed, “My wounds are freaking hurt right now. Could you check them for me a bit?”
Cristelle cast a look at his perfectly wrapped forearm, “But I thought Cody had taken care of your wounds.”
Linford winced, “I don’t know… They are just so painful. Could you take a look? I’ll leave if they are okay.”
Cristelle seemed reluctant as she put the comforter down, “Well then… I’ll take a look if you don’t do weird things to me.”
“I won’t,” Linford promised abruptly.
Cristelle grabbed a pair of scissors and cut off the bandages. She gasped as she saw Linford’s wounds, “What the heck… Your wounds are becoming dark. How much iodine did he use? The bondages cut so deep. Did he try to kill you?”
“Ah… Our son.” Linford shook his head.
Cristelle forced out a smile, “I shouldn’t have let him do this for you. He’s just a boy. He probably doesn’t even know how to do it.”
“Really?” Linford said darkly, “You know you’re really biased sometimes, Cristelle.”
Cristelle cut all the bandages off as she recleaned his wounds again, “He’s also your son. Are you jealous of him?”
“Well… He clearly doesn’t treat me as his father. Besides, I’m your man. Don’t you feel bad when Cody did this to me?” Linford said shamelessly.
Cristelle faltered, but she soon continued to take care of his wounds, “What are you talking about? I can’t understand.”
“You can’t?” Linford smiled, “Let me explain it more clearly then. I am your man, your husband, the love of your life, and you’re mine. Is this clear enough?” And then, he suddenly pulled Cristelle in and left a kiss on her lips.
Cristelle screamed and poured almost half a bottle of iodine on Linford’s wound.
“OW! Kill ME! THAT’S PAINFUL!”
Cristelle laughed as she saw Linford roll on her bed, “See? That’s called karma.”
“I can’t even kiss you now?” Linford sounded genuinely annoyed, “When can I kiss you then?”
Would mature people even dare to ask questions like this? Cristelle was so speechless.
“If you don’t answer this question, it means I can kiss you whenever I want to,” Linford smirked.
“That is shameless,” Cristelle hissed.
“Then at least give me some time,” Linford just wouldn’t give up.
“I don’t want to answer this question,” Cristelle still took care of his wounds in the end, “I’ve bandaged all your wounds now. You can go back to your bed to have a good rest.”
Go back to his bed? Seriously?
Linford fell back on Cristelle’s bed, stretching his long arms and legs, “Nope.”
Cristelle was utterly pissed off at this point, “Are you serious? I’m calling Cody now if you don’t return to your room.” Cristelle warned.
Linford looked up lazily, “Alright, just try to call him. I promise you that he won’t show up anyway. There’s a distance between the two bedrooms. Besides, Cody didn’t get much sleep on that island. Are you sure you want to wake him up?”
“Fine!” Cristelle jumped off the bed and took the comforter in her arms, “If you don’t leave, I’ll leave.”
Linford didn’t want her to move around and get even more tired this late, so he pulled her back, “Alright! Fine! I’ll leave. You’re happy now?”
Cristelle didn’t seem to trust him.
“Cody?” Linford looked at the door as his mouth dropped open, “Why are you here?”
“Cody? Where is he?” Cristelle turned to look.
However, Linford suddenly kissed her cheek and sprinted to the door.
Cristelle was so speechless as she covered her cheek with one hand. Seriously? Was this man a five-year-old or a sly fox?
