Chapter 221: I’ll Keep The Company Safe

Book:TEMPTING The Mysterious CEO Published:2024-5-31

Taking the disaster of the Bradley house as an opportunity? How disgusting!
Alfred nodded, “Of course, sir. I’ll keep the company safe.”
Alfred was actually just here to tell Drew that he would get things done. He didn’t expect to see so many people in Linford’s mansion.
Alfred cast a look at Cristelle involuntarily. Cristelle seemed so tired. Other people may not know. But Alfred knew the history between Cristelle and Diego so well.
“It’s getting late. I’m taking Candace upstairs,” Cristelle carried Candace up. Candace had fallen asleep in her mother’s arms. The little girl must be tired.
Franco smiled at Cristelle gently, but somewhat he felt pity for her, “Take her upstairs and get some rest too. Cristelle, don’t worry. Cody will be fine.”
Cristelle smiled at Franco gratefully before she walked away with Lily.
Franco cast a look at Darwin and Tanya, “You two should return home now. You can’t help staying here. Besides, you still have your job to take care of, Darwin.”
Tanya hurried to say, “Father, let me stay here. I can help to take care of Candace.”
Franco remembered her little scheme, so he quickly refused her proposal, “Candace already has her Mom and Lily. You don’t need to stay, Tanya. Just go back and have some rest.”
Tanya knew Franco didn’t like her. She seemed a bit lost.
Darwin didn’t feel comfortable hearing those words from his father. His wife decided to offer her help out of pure kindness. Why did his father treat her as if she was something vile?
“Tanya, honey, you shouldn’t insist on staying since Dad doesn’t like it. We can’t help anyway. Staying here will only bring these good people trouble,” Darwin sounded more sarcastic than he should be. It made him sound petty.
Mr. Weston shook his head. Why did Darwin always act like a teenager at vital moments like this? Tanya poked at Darwin’s arm, making her husband stop saying anything. Darwin only shut up at this moment.
He didn’t worry about his son or grandson because he knew things would be fine as long as Enzo was with them.
But the things coming out of his mouth were just wrong.
“I don’t want to continue this conversation anymore. It’s getting late. Just go back and take some rest. Don’t make any assumptions. It’s quite useless,” Franco stood up from the couch and walked into his room. He didn’t want to see his stupid son right now.
Mr. Weston sighed and followed his friend.
Franco was furious. Getting into his room, he slacked down on the couch. Picked up the teacup, poured enough, and gulped it down. Franco hadn’t calmed down after drinking his tea.
“Franco, you’re being too sensitive. Darwin’s just worried about his children.”
“He’s worried?” Franco snapped, “I don’t really see that. He was more eager to protect his wife than his children.”
Darwin was old enough, but why did he constantly act like a child?
Mr. Weston laughed, patting his shoulder a bit, “Franco, this is just hilarious. You always think your son is useless, but your son also gave you wonderful grandchildren. You can’t just say he’s a useless son.”
Franco broke into a laugh, “What are you even talking about?”
Mr. Weston smiled as well, “I’m simply telling the truth. I don’t think other boys of Linford’s generation can compete with him. He will definitely become the leader of the other four families.”
Franco was a bit worried after hearing that, “Speaking of other families, would the White family have anything to do with the incident?”
“I don’t think so, Franco,” Mr. Weston shook his head, “Anna can be harsh, but she will never do things like that.”
Franco still seemed worried. Mr. Weston tried to let him relax, “I know you think you have beef with the White family. But the White values their reputation, unlike the Barnett family. You should stop thinking about these problems and get some sleep. I also need to have some rest.”
Franco tossed and turned in his bed. He didn’t fall asleep until very late at night.

Cristelle put Candace in her bad. Candace was already fast asleep.
“Cristelle, you really need to relax. “Linford and Cody will be fine,” Mrs. Weston tried to comfort her.
Cristelle took in a deep breath as she nodded, “I know.”
Mrs. Weston knew she didn’t have much strength to talk or discuss anything, so she left the room with Lily.
Cristelle went to the bathroom and splashed some cold water against her face. When she looked up in the mirror, the hatred burning in her eyes was astounding.
Diego Barnett! The Barnett family again!
When could these people leave her and her babies alone? Cristelle had the heart to grab a kitchen knife and slit that piece of shit’s throat. How could they do this right when they were in the middle of a crisis?
When would Diego stop? Was his goal to make her crazy?
How blind had she been to fall in love with a piece of shit like that? Cristelle wanted to vomit when she thought about that man’s face. She would grab and destroy the Barnett House without any mercy if she had any chance.
She would make them pay!
A knock on the door pulled Cristelle out of her reverie.
When she held the door open, Drew was standing there.
“Hi, Drew. Why are you still up?” She forced out a smile.
Drew was holding a wine bottle, “Do you want to have some of this with me?”
Cristelle followed him to the balcony. Drew poured them two glasses of wine.
“Pop and other people must have gone to bed.”
Drew nodded, “Everything has been settled. You don’t need to worry about anything anymore. You seemed to be bothered by Diego.”
Cristelle didn’t want to deny the fact, “I didn’t expect them to trap me like this. I think they want me dead. Could they be the ones who kidnapped Cody?”
“I don’t think so. They don’t have the power to do it,” Drew took a sip from his wine, “Actually… You don’t even need to feel bad because of these people. They don’t know their limits. Sooner or later, karma will get them. You probably think they still got the White covering their ass. But the White doesn’t even care about them that much. If they made any stupid mistake again, the White family would definitely stay away from them.”
Drew’s assumption was brilliant. Cristelle did worry about the relationship between the Barnett and the White.
“Thank you,” Cristelle murmured.
